I tried using the XDA II today and the screen touch pad does not respond at all. The up down rocker wouldcycle through the today items and the hardware buttons worked. I tried a soft and then hard reset. Now I can not get past the set up screen where it says taps the screen to set up your device.
Any ideas?
There are two problems that i can think now.
Firstly, it due to screen protector. If you change a new one, try remove it.
Because screen protector is not suitable or incorrect place.
Secondly, it due to some program that you've been installed.
In my case ,I found problem with Calligrapher7.4. After I install,my screen is totally locked but Hardware button still work.
The way to resolve is by uninstall program via activesync. Just put your device to cradle wait until sync is completed ,then click add/remove program and remove your suspected software that cause your problem.
Hope you can solve this problem.
Hey Guys,
I am having a problem with the touch screen on my 8525. Now I'm not exactly sure if this is a similar problem as other screen issues on this site but my phone was working fine then the then the screen stopped responding altogether. I was able to navigate via keyboard but that was it. I did a soft reset and it did not help. I then did a hard reset and the screen went to the setup and wants to align the screen which obviously I cannot do. Did the business card trick, no good, put it in the freezer for a lil bit, also no good. I'm a bit reluctant to open it up yet. HTC said the repair would cost anywhere between $170-270... clearly not worth it... I should just open it up take a look? If so what EXACTLY am I looking to do here???
Please Help Me
Thank you all in advance

Please Help! The touchscreen on my WING stopped responding but everything else functioned well, so I kept on using it with the hardware buttons. I was still keen to sort out the root problem and one of the suggestions I got from this forum was to do a hard reset.
After the hard reset, the touchscreen is still not responding, but the phone prompts me to align the screen, I have failed to get past this as it requires the use of the touchscreen. I would rather still use my WING without the touchscreen as where I am located its almost impossible to get a replacement screen which I now believe is the permanent solution.
Is there any way that I can bypass the align screen so I can at least still use the phone?
The same thing happened to me once, and I had to return it and get a new one from Tmo
Thanks David, but am in Africa and it was sent it to me as gift. I don't have many options available apart from this forum..
oh no! Well, that sucks man. I don't know what to tell you.
Hello
i've got en elf but it is stuck at the align screen.
i searched the forum for many day's and i found out that the digitizer probably is broken.
So i bought an new one an installed it with this manual
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407323
great manual by the way
I also installed a new housing
I installed one of the new roms
But it is still stuck on the align screen$
I have a constant loop
first middle cross, then the 4 corners and then back to the middle
i installed a program to override the align screen and then the i can use the phone but when i tap the touch screen it is not the place i tapped that opens because it is not aligned
What can i do because i am all out of answers
ps there is no warrenty anymore
Greetz Hatchy
it could be the touchscreen
LCD and touchscreen are not the same
some models heve them separated, some not
as i could see elf has
touchscreen pic1
LCD pic2
so try replacing the touchscreen they are few dollars on ebay
Or if you want, you can have somebody cook a ROM for you that bypasses the screen alignment part.

well if it was artemis...he could (arte has a mouse pointer)

When your PPC is at the alignment part of the start up process simply plug it into your computer and let activesync run. You do not need to set up a partnership at this time to do this.
Explore your PPC and go to the windows folder and then to the startup folder and delete the welcome file in there.
Soft reset your PPC and you are good to go!
I had an IPAQ for years that had a bad spot in the middle of the screen and this is the only way I have found to bypass the alignment.
I am stuck on the align screen in a loop as well. What program did you write to skip the screen. I am not able to use the phone because of that. I am really terribly stuck. Please help. Thanks.
I hear placing a blank text file named "welcome" with the extension ".not" on the root of your SD card after hard resetting will bypass the Windows Mobile setup. And until you get your screen repaired (if ever) and if you have a working DPAD, then you can download a free, configurable mouse cursor here. Just go the the third post and click on the attachment I posted.

Well,
For what it's worth,
I found out on my brother's Qtek S200 that was also in a loop, that it automatically passed the align screen after some 15 times.
Later I found this in the registry:
HKLM\Hardware\Devicemap\Touch\MaxCallError(=16)
So I assume you can tick the align screen 16 times before it continues?
it works!!
Hi !
I've broken the lcd screen of my Yotaphone 2, but the always on screen still work well, and I was using the phone only on this always on screen without problems.
The problem is that I've factory reseted the phone, in order to give it to a friend, and now I'm stuck on the setup when it says "Turn over the phone to set up" on the always on screen. If I turn over the phone, it does nothing (because the lcd screen is broken).
Do you see a solution to get ride of this problem ?
Thanks a lot if you can help me !
