802.1X crashing HTC ELF - Networking

I am trying to setup a Wi-FI connection to the office network.
On the Laptop is it configured as WPA-TKIP with authentication using a 802.1x digital certificate..
I installed the certificate fine.
As soon as I try to connect to a network with it crashes.. Even after the restart, as soon as it tries to connect the system crashes.
I then tried new network defn:
Authentication: Open
Data Encryption: WEP
The key is automatically provided: checked
Use IEE 802.1x network access control : checked
EAP Type: Smart Card or Certificate --> with the correct cert selected.
This config also causes a crash. However, when it returns I am prompted to enter the user-id and can get connected. However, as soon as it comes out of locked state the system crashes..

Rom date: 13/06/07
Radio version: 02.93.90
Protocol version: 4.1.13.42
ExtROM version: Blue Touch ROM V4.0
Any ideas?

Pocket PC Networking

I just got a Wizard. I always get this error "Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings". Can anyone help, what causes this? Thanks
I have the same problem, especially when I am leaving BT ActiveSync connection. What kind of ROM are you using?
My Wizard has the following:
ROM version 1.3.13.5. ENU
Radio Version: 01.12.10
Protocol Version: 4.0.13.23
ExtROM Version: 1.3.13.116
Thanks
had the same problem
Yea, I had that same problem whenever i synced with my pc. but after i upgraded it to the new rom i've never seen it anymore. i dunno, probably a problem in activesync.

Network Connections

Can Someone post the settings and procedure for using the various kinds of netowrk connections.
1. Activesync via USB cable passthru to internet
2. Cingular Edge
3. Wifi
What network setting should I use when trying to connect to the internet thru the type of connections listed above.
It also seems that when ever I switch network connections I have to soft reset in order to get my Cingular 8125 to use the connection. Is that the correct method? I thought all you should have to do is switch the network connection type and anything software trying to connect to the internet would automatically use the new network connection type.

HELP! 2 TyTns one has a problem with WiFi

Hi All,
We have a client who we supplied 2 TyTns the both have the same ROM:
ROM Version: 1.18.255.3
ROM date: 07/22/06
Radio version: 1.03.03.10
Protocol version 32.34.7010.01H
ExtROM version 1.18.255.106
One of them connects to Wi Fi no problem. The other says the network is available but when you go to connect the network key code is invalid. The key is identical on both devices.
Any Ideas? (apart from a hammer)
S
possibly both devices are using the same device name, try changingboth names to something different
Yes, or go to connections, network cards and delete the one in question and then have it re-detect the network and re-enter the key from scratch. i.e delete the card first not just re-enter the key in settings.

WLan Connection Problem

Hello, i searched about my problem but i couldn't found anything about it.
I updated to WM6.1 (WM6.1Pro v3.02 (sun_dream))
ROM version: 6.141WWE
Radio version: 1.15.00
Protocol version: 1337.45
If I want to connect to my WIFI, the BA said that the password must have 8 characters and were wrong. But my password ist longer than 10 characters and I got the right one. The encryption is WPA-PSK, or is only WEP with the BA possible ?

you have to get in to settings/connections/network cards and in the connection of your hotspot ot what ever you use you have to click "edit" and there choose your settings.

[Q] No data connection in Android with bob.at, but works in WinMo

Hi all. I tried searching everywhere to try and find the answer to my question. Three days now and I think it's time to post.
My phone connects fine in Windows Mobile to the data connection of my carrier but won't connect in Android. In android I enabled data roaming since my carrier is a virtual one here in Austria (BOB.AT on the A1 Telekom Austria network). The 3G logo shows up on the taskbar and shows frequent activity, but everytime I try to use the browser or any other app, it wont access the internet.
The phone actually recognized the data connection settings on its own and automatically set up APN settings. Just to be sure I checked their website to see what the settings should be, this is what they said:
Code:
Installation Guide
Applies to all tariffs bob, that data sharing is possible
Types of connection: UMTS / EDGE / GPRS and GSM
WAP profile name: data.bob
Home: http://start.bob.at
IP Address: 194.48.124.7
Port: 9201 for WAP 1.x and WAP 2.x for 8001
Connection type: Continuous
Connection security: Off
Authentication type: Normal
Username: data.bob.at
Password: ppp
APN bob.at
When I check in my phone I have these settings correct.
When I run the ping tests I get these results:
Code:
Ping IpAddr: Fail: IP addr not reachable
Ping Hostname(www.google.com): Fail: Host unreachable

On a side note, I had used my old T-Mobile sim card before when it still worked. I had data working on both OS's. Since then I had reinstalled the same version of android.
Any help would be much appreciated
Does this have to do with the version of android I am using? Does any one think that a fresh install of android might fix this?
sorry to bump so soon but im going on holiday with the car tomorrow and it would be nice to have this figured out for the trip as Windows has no good apps.
