I have WM 6.1 instaled
I changed the SIM card, I put the battery again, but now I'm not able to enter windows. I write my password but it say it isn't correct. I can't understand it!!!!
even if I put my old SIM or without sim, now it doesn´t recognise my password.
I wouldn´t like to reinstall everyth just now :-(
what can I do??
please...
thank you
It was said multiple times here, that you should not set up device password because of intermittent errors related to it. Now all ypou can do is HardReset and recover from last backup. Or maybe it's time to make your first backup?
Ohh!!!! no!!!!! mierda!!!!
thanks anyway.
Yes, I haven't got a backup, but I'm not at home so I can't do anything! mierda mieda y mierda!
here u go without a HARD RESET
just go to the hard reset menu by pressing camera+record and reset.
Select yes for clean registry hive and no for others than save.
it will remove password but u may have to re-install some of ur softwares and re configure some settings.
All ur msgs, contact etc. remain intact.
I CAN CONFIRM THIS CAUSE IT HAPPENS WITH ME TOO AND YES TODAY.
This is in fact a Hard Reset (cleaning registry) without formatting internal flash - so files from it are not lost, but most applications will need regular reinstallation.
well it has been said that when you want to remove the battery for some reason, just press the power button to put the device on standby, wait 20 seconds, and then remove the battery without waking the device, this way your registry stuff remains intact and it is a lot harder to screw your pasword.
krishan2207's way is more proper for your case, you will suffer almost nothing this way

Is there any way to boot a Wizard into a safe mode?
I dont want to hard reset , it boots, I put it my passcode and THEN it hangs, so it boots but something is killing it before it fully loads.
I think its the today screen itself that is hanging in, is there any way to disable/remove today plugins through active sync ? Add/Remove programs wont work, so am thinking I could probably disable the plugins and then reboot.....
If when you boot the phone and it hangs, it is still visible by Activestink, you could do in to your phone and remove the plugin files... then reboot, and if that in fact was causing the problem you might be ok.
Otherwise you'll be hard resetting. Hope you made a backup!
Yeah, it syncs if I dont put the password in. Only thing I would lose would be my SMS messages which haven't been backed up in a while. Bugger will be getting a new license for Opera.
Any idea where the plugins files are?
The thing that broke it was I installed O2 plus. I re-enabled RhinoStats cause I wanted to know how much CPU was taking, and I think it was the combo of these two things which broke it.
If I hold the power key down it does ask if I want to turn off my device, which is "nice"..... it's not dead but it certainly doesnt do much.
It wont add/remove programs, it gets half way through then dies.
ANd what happens if you break a today plugin? Does it fail to load and then have windows clean up after itself? Or does it royally break things?
Wont let me delete the rhinostats dll file and I dont know which O2 files I can delete so I shall not be touching those.
Have removed the sim card, will see if that helps get it into some sort of working state so I can fix the problems it seems to be having. -> Answer, no. Just shows a different screen when it gets round to breaking.
Any more ideas?
Ok, I dont know how I managed to do it, but this time (having now re-inserted my sim and removed the 2Gb SD card) it didn't immediatly die.
I cant explain it, I dont know if this is a coincidence, but I have now de-installed O2 plus and disabled all the today plugins I could find. I shall now be running a new backup.....
Now let's see if it dies.....
On a side note, anyone know of a way of exporting all the SMS messages in a format that is readable by a desktop computer (preferably via notepad/nano)?
if u want to backup ur sms msgs, there is a file called cemail.vol.
copy it to ur storage card, hard reset, then copy iy back again.

Hi Mohammad, i can't copy/paste it as it is locked by something. How to do it?
Regards...
try renaming the current cemail.vol to anything ..like cemail.volx then copy the old cemail.vol into the same directory where the new cemail.vol resides. soft reset.

but how can i backup the "old" one? as i said it is locked so i can't copy it...
btw: even renaming does not work because of the file being locked...
Tried checking it on my phone, and yes it can't, i guess this only works with Smartphones. I'm sorry for that.

I am sure someone might have messed with it and changed it.... i desperately need to reset the KEYGAURD.... How can fix this problem plzzz heelp me as i am new to XDA WORLD....
Just inform what i need to do....
No t sure if there is a way to read the code from the phone.
Only thing I can think of is a hard reset. You will lose all information on the phone however it will be reset back to manufacturers defaults.
Click here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Resets to find out how.

thnxxx alot guyzzzzz.... i have reseted my phone and now its back to its original state.... just one last question guyzzz.... what security do i have incase someone steals my cell i am just curious abt the security feature.... jus wonderin what if someone changes the sim..... wht security can i put in my celll
The only security you have pre-installed is a password lock that asks for a password when you power on your screen.
However there is software available (most of which you have to pay for) that can encrypt files on your phone and also some programs that are probably subscription based that can remotely wipe all data from your phone if it is stolen.
There is a thread on some programs that do this but for the life of me I cant find it. Try searching on Google but this software does exist.

that was really helpful guyz.... one last help i need ( i know its asking for alot ) but all i need to know is that i recently purchased a 1 gb memory card for my cell and i need to find a way to format it completely as its a second hand (used) memory card... i have NOKIA MEMORY CARD reader but this memory card is too small to fit in that device. Is there a way i can format my MEMORY CARD completely... does HARD RESET also resets i means formats MEMORY CARD. thnxx
A hard reset will not format your memory card
You can format the card in the phone. The in built in file exporer does not support this. However you can download Resco File Explorer from here: http://www.resco.net/downloads/byplatforms.asp
It is only a trial, you must buy a license key if you want to keep it. Just install it on your phone memory, format your card and then uninstall it after.
I've kept it on my device, much better than the built in explorer.

I use Remote Tracker on my phone. There is a whole list of things you can do to your cell via a text message. I would need to look at the command list again but I think it will clear your memory card too. It also has gps tracking.

Be a good idea to use a backup program too. It will back up all contacts /messages, and depending what app, system and registry too.
I use SPB backup 2.0.1. Works pretty well for when things go bad...
Cheers...
Hi all,
When i used my device this morning i could not start messenger or any other program. The device is also unable to connect with active sync. I haven't got anything installed over the last days.
It just happend. Windows is extremly slow, i don't have contacts anymore, no pim's or anything. The phone did remeber my last calls and such. My email accounts are also missing.
I have done some soft resets and now the device is stuck on the windows mobile splash screen (the green screen with windows logo and name).
I don't know what to do How can i get my device to work again?
Edit
The device has started after 20min at windows screen. Touchflo 2D has not loaded and i can not make calls. I can't start any program, it gives an error that the program can not be started because it has not been signed with a certificate or some component is missing.
Thx in advance for reading.
If you have an SD card inserted I would try removing it and see if that improves things!
I had a similar problem with an Xda Zest which turned out to be a corrupt SD card. Once it was formatted again everything was bach to normal.
I removed the SDcard, tried another one (also 4GB), then used the old one again (formatted) .
But no luck.
I will try again removing some software if the device allows it. Will update.
dont put any SD card in the device
and try
Start/configuration/sistem/Erase memory
and there just put 1234 and press yes
This metod erases everithing from your device leaving it just how it came from the factory
You may also perform a hard reset as you have mentioned to receive a message "some component is missing". Hard reset should fix any software (or Operating system) issues with your phone.
WARNING: Hard reset will erase all your data and the customizations you have made to the phone.
Refer to the following for instructions on how to hard reset:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=453324
I have done a hard reset without the SD & sim card. It solved all the problems. I was able to recover my contacts with ActiveSync.
Thx all for helping
Hi, I'm new here. Sorry as this is my first post.
But lately, I've encountered a problem with my XDA exec.
I always get text messages all the time, so I delete them. After a soft reset, the deleted messages come back.
All of my messages recieved and sent between the soft reset and that are gone.
I already tried waiting for an hour then soft reset, it still comes back.
Deleted the messages at the 'deleted messages' folder, still there.
I used Jeyo Mobile Companion to delete individual text messages, and it would still come back!
Also, my phone has a tendency to reboot by itself. As much as I dont want to turn off my phone or anything, I dont want to
I dont know what causes it, can you please tell me why?
The xda is my brother's but I'm using it. I dont want to ask him to fix or anything.
I also want to consider hard resetting but I dont know on which way it will erase everything. How much it will reset, and all of that.
Can you also tell me how much a hard reset will erase?
I really need help.
Thanks!
Welcome to forums
A hard reset will wipe all information sotred on your device, your SD card info will be intact (of course if you remove it before hard reset).
it will also help to clean all unnecessary files and apps you have installed so your device will perform much better.
It returns the device to it´s original state of the ROM.
All can be backed up before a hard reset, for example you can use PIM backup to save all your messages sent , recieved, etc.
Here how to hard reset:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Resets
Good luck,
Thing is, though. I also dont know how to install programs into the xda. I know I know, I should have used search..but I'm a busy student so I dont have time for that
I think the xda is in Windows 6.1, as well.
Won't it get any conflicts or problems with the phone if I hard reset it... as far as I can tell, my brother put and used a different software or ROM different from the 'original' one.
If I choose to hard reset, is there any way to back up the apps and the stuff my brother put? I will be in grave trouble if he founds out that I hard reset the phone and asking him for help when I'm just 'borrowing' his phone :]
No probelm doing hard reset with wm6.1
as I told you use the soft I recommended to back up your messages, for the apps check in start-settings-system-uninstall programs thelist of your installed apps, then let us know and we can point you to the right place to reinstall them.
it wont be any problem if you follow instructions, and your Bro will thank you when he notices better performance
It´s up to you mate,
Hi All,
first of all , hope to put this issue in the correct forum path....
my friend has a problem with the Pro2, as you can see by the attach , concerning the keyboard password lock.
His password doesn't works and also performing all the reset type , after the reboot the mobile starts with the keyboard locked (only emergency number is possible call).
he has reported me that at the first time, the mobile has gave to him an alphanumeric code to try to unlock the code but it doesn't solved the issue.
probably re-installing the software (6.5) the problem is solved but he doesn't want loss the date / appointments due the fact he has a doctor.
please help us.
thanks
Hi again,
it's appreciated also if someone know if there's a way to perform the backup in this condition.
Thanks again

Did he ever use Activesync or Google Sync? If he did, most of his information sould be saved that way. Also, you may want to try doing a hard reset but only after exausting all attempts to back your data up. Send a couple of PM to Senior memebers or Moderators, you might get some help that way!!
Good luck!!
thanks for your post....
principal problem is that is not possible connect the mobile to pc in order to use activesync or other program due the fact the mobile is locked....and not save data has been performed before....
Double chack that his SIM card is in correctly.
Same exact thing happened to me. My phone battery was at about 10% and when I tried the password that I had set... it didn't work. This made me frantic and very ticked off. I had a ROM on my SD card so i just reflashed from there. Since then I always install a different locking app then the stock one. I just can't trust it. So I think youre only option is to hard reset and hopefully your contacts are saved to the SIM so they won't be deleted.
