Hi. I have a question. Is there any program to find the key for a locked wireless network? If there is one it can be very helpful and useful for me and for other users.

Isn't that illegal?
AFAIK, there is no way to crack the keys on device, but you can capture the required packages on device and then copy them to a PC that can do the hard work. (I'm not going to go into more detail as I'm fairly sure that any more than what I have already said will be frowned upon)

I've searched around and I have not been able to find the functionality that duplicated the beloved "TreoCaps" program. The TreoCaps program, in turn, on the Treo650, emulated the BlackBerry input style whereby when you pressed a key on the keyboard for a certain length of time, it would insert the capitalized version of the key you were pressing. Hold it for still longer and you'd get the "Symbol-shifted" version of the letter (i.e., "T" would map to "#" on the Hermes keyboard).
Is there any chance a competent (and I know that there are a lot of them here) programmer be able to create such a utility? It would also help in the migration of BlackBerry users to WM5, would help us who used this feature on the Treo650's and it's just a faster way to use a hard keyboard.
Anyone else think that this might be handy?

No, actually back then, I asked if such a program was available. I guess that's an implicit request, but in my mind, I was asking if there was one available.
Hate to spam (and don't actually think that I was), but I wanted to be sure that I was explicit in my request. Forums can be tediously difficult to communicate on if you're not explicit. I can delete the other thread if that'll clean things up.... By now, it's clear, there is no such utility.

Actually there is, it's called QCaps. Unfortunately it is device specific and only works on the Moto Q. The developer is working on Blackjack and Treo versions.

Hi Ninja1 --
That's great information, actually. Now I can look for the author's contact info and ask him if he's thinking about doing one for the Hermes.... QCaps. Cool.
Thanks,

Hey folks, I have read and see various posts and articles on tethering seen people mention that the data usage is hidden when you run one of the custom roms such as DCD's. I was just curious how exactly this works? and how safe is it? This is not really something I plan to do but more of possibility for the future if something is workable of course. I am currently with TELUS as my provider using the HTC p4000. (6800 with a stupid telus name)

Hi,
I can't find anser for this on forum. Maybe i'm not good in searching
How to lock/unlock keys/screen programically i Visual C#? I have SDK 6.
How to capture that call is comming? (to unlock device).
I plan to write app which autolock device.
I have HTC Touch Pro.
Thank you for help!
There is no "method" built in to do this. You have to work out a method yourself. What I did a few years back to accomplish this was to trap the hardware keys and input switches on your target device (this becomes hard on multiple devices) and write the app to keep itself on top always. It's crude, but worked well for me. Then just use the standard telephony api for your incoming call monitoring.
Maybe use the program
CSDEVCTRL
from the forums here ?

What I can't understand is:

Hi tihimasmo
A moderator changed my post here, you know in what section i can post my thread ?
And thanks
Haha, he really did? Then I guess my question is directed at the moderator.
Closing this thread. Using such an app on a public Wi-Fi network that isn't yours to begin with is probably not the wisest thing to do, and may even be illegal.
Hello, like several people on this forum, i got the Galaxy Grand Prime S920L variant (Straight Talk/Tracfone).
As you know, only the stock kernel and stock recovery have been posted so far.
I'm willing to donate a little to someone able to provide the files & steps to unlock this device so that it accepts Sim from other companies. So if anyone can help or point me towards the right direction it will be greatly appreciated. :highfive:
Just a thought....If your on Straight Talk, call the toll free number (you will NOT have to talk to any real person doing this) transfer your SIM card to the T-Mobile or AT&T card variant and then you should have an Unlocked SM-S920L. Let me know if this helps.
That won't work.
Thanks for the suggestion fellas. I need proper unlocking though because i need to be able to use a mexican company sim (such as Telcel or Movistar). So if any developer out there is reading, im still willing to donate a little to anyone who can help me unlock this phone. Cheers!
you cant simply just unlock the sim card with a nsap of your fingers, and honestly, straight talkj is pretty strict about it... you ll have to look at the unlocking policy located on the bottom of their website..
must have phone on service for 12 months or more
must not been filed as lost or stolen
etc
etc
etc
whatever it says...
I know we cant just unlock with a finger snap, that's why we are here on XDADevelopers. We also know about their terms & conditions, but again, thats why im requesting the useful help of of XDADevelopers, thank you.
i doubt there would be a way to bypass the carriers systems to unlock the sim card..... it think you would have to hack their databases and allow an unlock on your #
ACTUALLY, there is a way to unlock the device that doesn't go anywhere near hacking a corporate database and is truly closer to a finger snap. It requires the use of dialer codes, service program menu editing and the MSL/SPC code. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the specific steps, which is why I'm searching this forum today. I hope the writer of this post has found a solution and I apologize profusely for not being able to relay more information. I just had to stop the influx of ignorance in this thread. FYI folks: people come here for answers and information, not for your erroneous assumptions. K?
