Hi Guys,
Realy sorry if this is not the correct place for this question, however;
I am looking to make some small ROM changes to my XDA2, therefore I require a ROM tool I guess? would someone please advise what I need to download to be able to access the reg keys etc.
Also I would like to add my own system tray icons, is this possible with ROM tools?
Any help is much appreciated, if further information is required please let me know.

you can put your own programs as cab file in the extented rom
i dont think you can modify the normal rom but i could be wrong

Hello !
I have succed to create a wm6.1 rom on my MIO P550, but i have a little problem :
When i want to open the brightness , it open and close immediately !
It will be OK on wm6, but not with wm6.1 !!!
Have yo some idea ? problem with CPL file ??
Any other solution , can I use an other Brightness file ?
Or it is a driver problem ?

Could be the following:
1) Driver issue. Make sure you have the correct device drivers!
2) *.mui issue. If the apps don't have the correct localistation, they won't load at all...
3) may be a direct incompatibility... Nothing you can do about that, other than get files from a WM6.1 ROM.

Are the *.cpl files from a WM6 ROM, or a WM6.1 ROM?

Did you also use the *.mui files from that ROM?
Humm no i just have recopy the folder in OEM\DRIVERS, and the BACKLIGHT.exe
But this backlight ( backlight which coms from MIo A701) open, but no changes when i slide !
are there any *.mui files there?
They may be in OEMLang...

I have replace MUI files and backlight.exe from the MIO A701 ROM !!
So i need to search how to re-link the backlight.cpl to the new backlight.exe !
Or convert backlight.exe to backlight.cpl

Using the control panel registry settings, you can link to an EXE...

The redirection don't work, i continu to search !
Try entering it as the full path...

Hi guys,
I wonder if some oen can help me or tell me how to edit & rebuild (wince.nls).
After I translated shellres.dll.***.mui my HTC can not uplaod what I wrote inside the shellres.dll because WINCE.NLS not contain the same words. So I need to open wince.nls and rewrite it then rebuild it to get what I want.
Plz, if you know a way just say to me here or u can send a PM!

I need the dump to compare the registry settings for HTC Hermes /TYN with HTC Shift ...
The comparision of registry might helpw resolve a great problem of Mic not functioning with head set on HTC Shift wm6 side .....
Appreciate if you can dump the HKLM keys of Hermes/TYN in XML format and attach it here.

so i worked on my rom for some days now and want to test it ...... as my phone has been taken away(too much textingSAD}
i cant test it!!!
so i need someone to test it for me ....
i will not be responsible for bricked devices or dead sdcard..........
pls thank me if the rom worked and if it didnot ...then i will take a look and when answering about the bug be more specific
i will be changing the boot animations and stuff but i just want to see if it works.....

I have done porting the old way and have taken some files like framework.res from the port and put it in the base..... I have not done major changes which will affect system...... I have done replacing of lib camera and lib audio and some folders in the etc.... No changes with the meta inf folder.... mostly it should work........ I will be doing a lot of work on themes and ram for better performance(will be taking out some bloatware) .....I will be changing boot animation...... But for now I want to test it.....
