Battery and screen - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

Hello everyone i'm a newbie here
just wanna ask a simple yet disturbing question.
i have a cingular 8125 with ipl 3.08 and spl 3.08 running AMP WM6.1
every time my battery level dropped below 30% my screen started to flicker....but after i charged it to above 45% the flicker disappeared.
anyone had the same prob?

what with external power?
if its ok then get a new battery.

update
updated
nope...after unplugging the cord my screen starts to flicker again although not as much as it was before (on full powered battery)
but the thing is that the screen now has vertical lines all over it. and the phone starts to lag badly.
but everytime i tried to open the keyboard to landscape mode, the screen suddenly fixed and the vertical lines disappeared (maybe the flex is faulty)
tried to soft reset (doesnt work), refasten the flex (nothing happened). even hard reset and still no hope.
i wonder if this is hardware or software issue
anyway my rom is 19.83.2.22 WWE
radio 02.25.11
does uprgrading/downgrading the rom solves this prob?

and yes...even on external power the screen still flicker andhas vertical lines....
hmmm i wonder if its time to move to another device?

rite now i've upgrade to BD 3.1 with IPL 3.08
ROM 11.0.0.1 WWE
but still on today screen the lines and flickers stays.
funny on pgrograms or settings (with bright background) the problem just vanished.
now im confused....is this a hardware prob or ROM?

update again...
after the screen off than on again (using on/off button) the problem continues to haunt me again (

help anyone???
its been flickering and lines all over
sometimes it do and sometimes it dont

triple post...sorry

it might not be the battery thats causing your problem.
check the connection of the flat cable connecting to the motherboard of your phone.
mine was flickering with vertical lines across the screen. I checked if it was the cable and it was a little loose.
Let me know if that works out for you

HELP: Brightness level will not go beyond 3rd tick?

My phone recently did a spontaneous hard reset and then turned off soon afterwards. Instead of a red flashing light (low battery), I had a CONSTANT red light, (I think this means hardware problem???)
I removed the battery and re-installed it, did the hard reset keys, everything and the unit would not turn on. I charged it for one day straight, still would not respond. I then charged it for another day. Still nothing, (except for the constant red light). I had plugged it into the USB cradle and the battery charger separately but nothing helped.
I then (2 days later) plugged it into the USB cable at work, and this is where it gets REALLY weird!
The unit turned on, but the LCD has flashing, (like a loose connection), alternating between difference brightness it seemed. Once the hard reset stuff was over, I check the battery and the backup was at 28% and the main battery was at 94%.
As I left the unit to charge, (with the screen still flickering like crazy) the screen got better and better, though it sometimes still flickers a little it was more-or-less constant.
Now, (2 weeks later) the batteries seem fine, I haven't had a battery issue since but this is the STRANGEST part!!! I can not increase the brightness beyond the third tick. If I move the brightness beyond that, it doesn't get ANY brighter! So I'm basically stuck right now at 3 brightness level only!
I tried a friend’s battery, and it was exactly the same, (brightness level problem), so I don't think it’s the main battery. Anyone have ANY ideas??? I’ve been thinking of opening it to check the ribbon cable to the LCD but not really sure that would be it, since the cable has a lock on it.
More Info:
ROM: 1.13.00 WWE
Radio: 1.13.00
Ext: BigStorage
* I've been running that setup for a while, (so not a new rom upgrade screwup)
* When I go into the camera app it does not over brighten or change the brightness at all.
I've tried a hard reset and going into the bootloader, (really hard reset) but the brightness is always at level 3 brightness.
What I mean by that is, if I move the slider from 3rd to 10th tick there is absolutely no change in brightness, only 0,1,2,3 have any change
No solution here, but see if this helps

My phone has been acting weird lately...

So I been having that same rom that was out since Cingular 8525 launch with. I been to lazy to upgrade the rom until the message, IE and the bottom set of buttons would stop working from time to time. So I decided to upgrade to Black 3.01 and the problem still continues but now I'm having other problems like where the screen would fade out into white. Yesterday my phone would not wake up from the white screen so I had to hard reset it. Nows it working fine but now I can't even tell if my phone is charging since it doesn't have that steady red light when its being charge.
EDIT: Also when I click on the Power button to turn it off it doesn't turn it off 100%, I could still see the screen but barely...

I presume you mean steady Amber when charging (that's what you want, RED means it is not charging)
When you go to start> settings> power and check from time to time does it show the charge going up or down when charger plugged in.
Actually I don't like the sound of the "fading to white" you describe. This has been reported several times and is linked to lower keys not responding. (If that comes back again I'd go for a replacement phone - there is currently no fix for this).

Thanks for the info. I just try switching it to the new AT&T rom and I'm still having the same problems. I'm going to call Cingular on Monday. If you have the link to the original rom it came with please post it. I'm going to search for it, thanks!

Unresponsive touchscreen help

All of the sudden the Hermes stopped responding to the touch screen, all of the regular buttons work and the screen remains on, doesnt shut down. I reflashed it thinking it might fix the problem but now I am stuck at the calibrate screen. Anyone else encounter this, and if so is there a fix for it?

Check here
"all of the regular buttons work and the screen remains on, doesnt shut down."
if your mean is that, backlight wont off automatically
Maybe same problem...
My Wizard had that problem. I got a business card and stuck it between the screen and casing and swiped it all along the perimeter, especially the bottom, and it worked fine after that.

[Q] jamin broken please help

About 3 months ago my imates battery died so i bought a new one which worked fine for about 2 weeks. I stopped using it for 2 months after that and ever since i cant get it to charge or open. The red light whist on the charger hardly never comes on and if it does the phone wont even open it just shows the imate blue screen and switches off again.
Reading some other peoples thread with the same problem their solution was trying to charge the battery through its pins without using the phone which i tried doing unsuccessfully.
Today somehow on the charger with no light it switched on and i was able to go to the settings and do a reset which then again turned the phone off and now its back to sometimes switching on the blue screen and then turning off.
If someone could help I would be very grateful
(on the blue screen it says:
IPL 1.00
SPL 2.13.000
GSM 02.20.21
OS 2.13.9.23)
i think ur device is short dude...check with Power supply

Strange problem with my Uni

Hi, i have a problem with my Uni, the symptoms are that if i will turn on the wi-fi or if i will start iGO 8, after some minutes my screen backlight turns off and the screen fades out! I noticed that the screen fades out the same when i will soft reset it...
I have tried with several ROM's but the problem remains
Thanks!
Is your battery ok? Mine did that when the battery got old. Try plugging in mains. Otherwise I don't really know.
yeah.. you are right it is maybe the battery because when i plugged it on the docking station it worked fine.... will see after some days if the proble is gone! thanks !
