I'm running open touch v 3.0 biggy, and I've noticed sometimes when exiting contacts, calendar, and sometimes when I bring my phone out of sleep, the comm manager comes up. I just close it out, but it's getting annoying. It seems like every time I wake my phone up, comm manager is up. I've tried reflashing, but it still does it. Anybody else have the same issue?
everyone had that issue. it was a problem with the comm manager used in OT 3.0 - it can be fixed by installing another comm manager, and after installing another comm manager, you'll need to fix the wifi through a quick regedit. there's other posts on both of those issues.

Hi all..
I was wondering if there was a way to add a shortcut to the Kaiser HTC Home Plgin installed on my trinity to turn the WiFi directly on & off without the need of running the comm manager.
Thanks

Well, that's obviously not what I wanted, but thanks.. I already use the hardware buttons.
I tried a couple of different plugins, but found that SPB Phone Suite was the only one that worked for me. It's not a direct button like PhoneAlarm was supposed to be, but a two-step process - you have to tap the communication button on screen and then tap 'turn on wifi'. It's faster than the comm manager tho.
I see.
It's very strange, i never thought a simple action like this could be so complicated
try to use phone weaver! Nice today plugin with small icons....and with one click you can turn wi-fi on/off.
This is what you're after go to http://www.vijay555.com/?Releases:VJVolubilis for info.
I have had my TD2 since it's release in the UK about a month ago. Since then I have loaded various bits of software, some have worked and stayed....many didn't and have been binned!
I have just noticed that at some point the task manager icon on the top right hand side of the today screen (next to battery meter) has gone!! I have tried a soft restet with no luck.
Has anyone noticed this behavior before, and if so is there a way to get it back without hard reset?
Thanks in advance guys
have you tried going back to task manager and checking the 'enable quick menu on today screen' in the button tab?
I noticed when i tried using Quickmenu app it unchecks this option

SOLVED!!
Many thanks! I was constantly going back to task manager to check for open programs, and never spotted that check box!!
If you can't find an answer to a problem on xda developers, you won't find it anywhere on the web.....htc should sponsor this site!!
Thanks again

This is the task manager with that setting.
Hi.
I've flashed my phone with the FingerMe Titanium Series but it didn't come with the HTC Task Manager.
I've went for the .cab and found the latest versions. Followed the instructions saying to install do the device memory. After that, it was installed and I was able to see the top right screen icon. But then I made a soft-reset and when it booted back to the OS the item was gone.
I went to the Settings tab and the program is installed since I can still see it's options menu where I have checked the option "Enable Quick Menu on Today screen".
Really have no idea why it disapeered so I did some search and found some topics talking about some registry edit, but since I'm not very confident doing that I decided to post my problem in the Herald forum to know if anyone, with this phone and last version of HTC Task Manager, had the same problem.
Thanks for reading.
Peace.

After a soft reset, sometimes, the Task Manager doesn't appear. It takes like 5 minutes for it to appear, sometimes. It's weirdddd.
So, yours hasn't appeared, even after playing around with the phone for a while? Maybe try another soft reset, wait 10 minutes, and then report back.
Nope. It doesn't show. Don't know what's happening but now when I hit the X button to close a program or a settings menu simply, sometimes it crashes the today screen and I have to soft-reset lol .
Peace.
is there any way of getting the old comm manager back? I hate the new way where once you tap on something you cannot simply tap on it again to disable it... I get bored of going the long way around to disable data connections/wifi etc.
Back on the old roms the comm manager had an enable/disable routine.
Anyone had their programs come up as xpopuptaost.exe when using duttys task manager, it's done it a couple of time today when shutting down various progs using task manager, any ideas?
I use the basic task manager and this happens to me too. but not having problems so i'm just ignoring it...
happened to me while using palringo...only once, haven't seen it since.
mine came up toasted teacakes and a yogurt. must be lunch.
same..
i get it all the time, at least once a day and i think it has to do something with the sense messeging...ive seen it only when i open the messeging app and then i dont close it i just press back and then when i i click on the drop down task manager it has the same thing has the first post.....
I used to get it all the time when on "topix" ROM's and using X2 task manager. I just closed it down.
I don't see it any more now that I'm using xannytech evolution ROM and its built in task manager.
Don't know if its related or not.
Xpopuptoast is the messages (sms).
If you look at it, the icon is the same for "Start" which is HTC messaging.
A toast is a infomation popup, so when you get a message, and you don't close out of it properly, it is xpopuptoast that remains in your in task manager.
so simply, its htc messaging when you get a new message.
Don't worry about it.
Thanks for the info guys
I got the XPopupToast process in my task manager right after installing MobilePad 2.5. MobilePad has an option to capture new SMS. I guess that's the cause of 'the toast' being opened. I disabled the option and haven't had toasts since.
