HTC Task Manager - Wing, P4350 General

Hi.
I've flashed my phone with the FingerMe Titanium Series but it didn't come with the HTC Task Manager.
I've went for the .cab and found the latest versions. Followed the instructions saying to install do the device memory. After that, it was installed and I was able to see the top right screen icon. But then I made a soft-reset and when it booted back to the OS the item was gone.
I went to the Settings tab and the program is installed since I can still see it's options menu where I have checked the option "Enable Quick Menu on Today screen".
Really have no idea why it disapeered so I did some search and found some topics talking about some registry edit, but since I'm not very confident doing that I decided to post my problem in the Herald forum to know if anyone, with this phone and last version of HTC Task Manager, had the same problem.
Thanks for reading.
Peace.

After a soft reset, sometimes, the Task Manager doesn't appear. It takes like 5 minutes for it to appear, sometimes. It's weirdddd.
So, yours hasn't appeared, even after playing around with the phone for a while? Maybe try another soft reset, wait 10 minutes, and then report back.

Nope. It doesn't show. Don't know what's happening but now when I hit the X button to close a program or a settings menu simply, sometimes it crashes the today screen and I have to soft-reset lol .
Peace.

Task Manager Quick Launch Disappeared

When I downloaded a ringtone editor and SKTools and rebooted my quick launch task manager button disappeared from the today screen. I have soft reset my Titan and I have gone into my settings to make sure it was checked off to be on the today screen and it was. Does anyone have an idea what I should do?
I put this in the wrong forum sorry about that, I meant for it to be in the general Titan forum
it is Start>Settings>System>Task Manager>Button>enable Quick Menu on Today screen.
Hope this helps.

Strange question about open touch 5.3 biggy

Okay, so I have a weird issue, and I've been searching and searching all day here at work, and can't find any info on it. When I flashed to Open Touch 5.3 biggy, everything worked great. ....but, after a soft reset, I noticed something changed. When I first loaded the os, I could go to Start, and then select programs and it would tile out to the right. Now, after the reset, when I select start, and programs, it goes to the big icons page, but doesn't tile out to the right. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, but you could see how it's hard to even look up info on how to change it back so menu's will tile over. Any help would be appreciated.
The Program that Allows for the menu style Start menu is Called Quick Menu Look for it in your windows folder. when click on it there it open. then look for the "quick menu" item and click option. check your settings there and make sure it is set up to start on system start.
Hope that helps

Man, this is driving me insane. Quick menu is in the startup folder, and when I run the program, and look at the options, it is checked to start when system starts....but every time it goes back to the normal icon page. Even after a restart, it does the same thing. What could I be doing wrong??? Ahhhhh!
I don't know if this makes a difference, but I do have HTC Home Customizer installed.
Did you noticed if "replace system's start-menu" was checked or not... might want to also check it see if "register win key of device" is checked also...
if that doesn't work might want to try and reinstall the program again.

Yeah, I tried all those, and made sure everything was selected. I read somewhere about some weird issues with batterystatus and quickmenu. I think if you have the processor speed selected to show, somehow this messed with quickmenu. I ended up flashing back to a different rom and it works fine. It was just strange though.

task manager suddenly missing

best wishes from bavaria

do you mean the top right icon in the today screen (home desktop)?
if so, did you install quick menu?
I also have the same issue. The entire top task bar disappears sometimes.. In order to bring it back, i have to click on the panel button and choose the same panel again. Its primarily happening on the default xperia panel.. must be some app which is causing the task bar to crash.. not sure how to troubleshoot it.. any help would be greatly appreciated!
What apps do u have installed on the x1 harmsing

Lost Task Manager shortcut!

I have had my TD2 since it's release in the UK about a month ago. Since then I have loaded various bits of software, some have worked and stayed....many didn't and have been binned!
I have just noticed that at some point the task manager icon on the top right hand side of the today screen (next to battery meter) has gone!! I have tried a soft restet with no luck.
Has anyone noticed this behavior before, and if so is there a way to get it back without hard reset?
Thanks in advance guys
have you tried going back to task manager and checking the 'enable quick menu on today screen' in the button tab?
I noticed when i tried using Quickmenu app it unchecks this option

SOLVED!!
Many thanks! I was constantly going back to task manager to check for open programs, and never spotted that check box!!
If you can't find an answer to a problem on xda developers, you won't find it anywhere on the web.....htc should sponsor this site!!

Home screen messed up after uninstalling CHT 1.7

I guess this could go in the Apps and Themes forum but I thought I'd stick it here in case the issue is broader than me thinking it might be related to CHT removal.
Decided to uninstall CHT 1.7 (and Advanced Home Tab 2.2.4) after getting fed up with lag/freezing/etc, and now I have three problems on the home screen:
1. The top-left part of the calendar (day, date) widget seems to be the same size as the CHT version, i.e. smaller than the default one, and therefore sits 20-40 pixels away from the rest of the calendar. EDIT: it won't even let me launch the calendar or alarm by pressing on it (or any area of the widget)
2. I can no longer scroll the apps to reveal the additional 6 below the 3 that sit at the bottom of the screen. EDIT: this has just started working.
3. The 'Menu' button no longer works on this screen either - it flashes upon touch but nothing pops up - so I can't access any quick links etc.
Can't find anything on the forum search or elsewhere.
Also, CHT may not have uninstalled properly because it won't disappear from the list of "removable" apps. Does this mean it's left some legacy code that is forcing the calendar to mis-display, etc?
Thanks
SC
Decided to reinstall CHT 1.7 along with the editor and see what happens. Running only one screen of apps (4x4) to see if this makes it more stable.
make sure you turn off sense before uninstalling....

Ok - so do I go to settings > menu > all settings > today > items > check Windows Default before uninstalling ... and then uncheck it after reinstalling?
Thanks
yup that's the one.....
check default, uncheck sense, soft reset, uninstall, reset, start up sense again.
Not guaranteed to work but its worth a try....
hope that helps.....

I'll put this out there just in case anyone else gets into a pickle like I did earlier today!
If you decide to install Cookies Home Tab, then install Advanced Home Tab, only to discover that the version of CHT is a lot newer than the version of AHT you thought you had....
Sense really gets messed up, so much so, all you get is white background and no response, to *anything*.
I managed to get my beloved HD2 back from the brink of certain hard reset by:
Attempting connection to my laptop (Win7) using ActiveSync (thankfully it was set to that as default!) and attempted the uninstall of AHT through Mobile Device Center.
This appeared to go ok, except MDC did close unexpectedly after the uninstall.
I brought it back up, and it was still installed. Ok, plan B.
Plan B:
Just before the SIM card PIN entry screen (I'm guessing this screen pauses the boot up just enough) you can open the start menu, this allows access to your programs.
I used Total Commander to launch CHT installer (I always keep cabs on my SD card) which attempted uninstall and failed on a few files (as Sense was still switched on, switching it off wasn't an option due to not being able to get this far until now).
I then managed to get into the Windows Settings via the Start menu, and disabled Sense before rebooting. My god, it was slow booting that time!
From here, I reinstalled CHT and CHTE, uninstalled AHT and all is well!
