well, I just read at a norwegian "htc" site that (smartmobil.no" that the ecpected release date for official wm6.1 for polaris is in august...
but we all know hat release dates is when coming from htc....

In this swedish site http://www.mobil.se/ i found that in sweden there will be an WM6.1 update for Cruise in the summer.

o2 Germany empolyee reckoned an update in August as well a couple months ago already. I guess it'll appear around that time and not *really* that much later.

Most likely yes, if several other less common languages seem to arrive around the same time. Personally I reckon most languages are going to be updated around the same time...
Htc summer can be about 4-5 month, and when they are talking about the summer..... they didn say which year!
Lets hope about 2-3 month we have the official 6.1 rom out

imate responded to an email i sent them saying Q1 2006 (after Feb) for the release of the MSFP. Microsoft also say this will be available from device OEM's in Q1.
I seriously doubt that imate will release an updated ROM in January if theres another update with MSFP + AKU 1.0 & 1.1 planned for February or so, but heres hoping.
I'm really looking forward to both the MSFP and the extra bluetooth profiles added with AKU 1.0/1.1 as i will finally be able to use the features i want. Bring it on!!!!!

FWIW, Microsoft released MSFP (AKU 2.0) to the carriers and OEMs November of last year. AKU 2.0/MSFP will include all previous updates.
I do find it hard to believe that it is taking them nearly 3-4 months to test a simple feature pack (if they are quoting March avaliability). That is ridiculous. They will probably find a way to push it back far enough that by the time it is 'ready', there will be new devices out that we have to buy to actually get it and the ones we have like like Wizards and Universals will already be obsolete.
The last thing that I have heard is that it will be released at least for qtek:s in the end of january.
I wish that it would come sooner!
Thanks for the info, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything, or if anyone had a release that I could lbuild a rom from. For now I am able to use most of the features I *need* in exchange day to day, I wouldn't mind the upgrade though.

well, I'd say this was a definite miss.
Although it is still not the updating time, at least we will find out when we can get the officail hero 2.1 rom.

I've got a feeling it will only be out in April. i think this because HTC are releasing new handsets at the end of march?.. so i think they will only release 2.1 for hero after they are out to stop people taking the cheap way out and just buying a hero with the new software rather than the new handsets maybe??
It is saying that HTC will most probably revealed when Hero can upgrade to And 2.1.
However, they are still unsure whether to let HTC Magic and Tattoo To get the same upgrade.
Rest are mostly users of the 2 not confirmed models users grumbling.

magic geted a new update last days.. 1.5 with sense ...
so if they update the old magic.. i think we will get an update for us hero to...

Rogers Canada have already said that magic users will be getting a 2.1 upgrade. If they get it so will hero owners.
The old donkey and carrot analogy spring to mind as far as updates from HTC go.

New ROM Hero should be available
According to a Dutch site, Mobilyz.com, the new Hero ROM should be released. The only thing is that I cannot find the ROM.

My guess is, they are waiting to the release day of the HD7, then to appease the HD2 owners until they pluck down money for the new model, they deliver a lukewarm update. It's not a bad update at all, solid, and stable, it's just that it fails to add anything new and or exciting, application or feature wise.
I see the updates for EU, in all the 3.14.4xx.2 flavors, and it irks me. Football provided the leaked 3.14.531.0 TMOUS ROM a month ago and yet T-Mobile has yet to post it for download. Not that I would RUN a plain jane vanilla ROM like that for long. And yes, we have the packages in the builds our esteemed chefs are providing.
It's just that I know why T-Mobile has not provided. They are all busy with the Shiny new HD7 to bother with updates for a phone that they are likely to pull in a few weeks. No M-O-N-E-Y in it. That's okay, they are a business and entitled to look for profitable moves, but it's the loyalty thing that gets pushed aside, and over the long haul, that will hurt them more.
I here that....no loyalty....tmous notorious for that...will see what happens, Ty all xda chefs for helping us revive a dead hd2!!!!!!

i find it hard to understand why the rom upgrade cannot be made available to all hd2 users on the same day
say what? I got a text message nearly 2 weeks ago stating that the update was available and I downloaded it and installed it on October 19,2010 straight from T-mobile's website.

Great news So they say May and August? Then I'd say it comes in June or July
I hope sooner rather then later, my DHD is starting to fall apart (Volume rocker could fall out any moment i feel, power button sometimes does not work, Scratches all over, Sim/SDcard case is falling off sometimes and the battery doesnt get better either ).
And my contract runs out in September so i hope i can still experience ICS on this device that has suited so well in the past 2 years. And it was such an amazing community here on XDA. Great fun, great roms and i learned so much about Android and stuff
I don't know why they even stated out August cause I did not even mentioned it in my original request to them
But since they said not later than august but expeted to be in May i would agree with you and say mid of June
