VWallpaper - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I did do a search in here for this but the only thing closest I could to find was AC's S2U with gif wallpaper.. This is something on the home screen wallpaper which was created by Skrew called "VWallpaper" see this linkhttp://i.danstaface.net/site/ and view video http://i.danstaface.net/site/node/24/
, This application is on the Iphone.. Would this be able to be made..? It would nice to be open onto home screen while you get a view of a video clip of example, a movie clip, cherished memory, imagination is broad onto what can be added as a vwallpaper. I'm not a Iphone fan but some apps created or recreated have been truly a work of art. So question remains is this possible.. Thanks in advance for any feedback.
God Bless

XDA 2 Photo and Contacts Templates

Hi to all of you in XDA II land.
Just got mine - wow!!
Now to discover all those bugs and problems... (Bound to be loads)
Better still.. Now to sicover all the amazing new things we can do with 'em.
Like taking photos in predefined frames. How do you create a frame template of your own. (It's not as simple as creating a GIF file - I have tried that)
Also like to be able to create a template in which to display callers photos - again how can I do that?
And can the camera be used for video conferencing either mobile to mobile or using MSN Mesenger?
Have fun.
Yoooooooo!!
Check this site http://www.iastyle.com/o2xdaII/templates.asp
you can download some there !!
HAVE FUN!! CLICK!!
RAOUL
yes it's is kinda as simple as creating a gif file
by kinda i mean
if you get an animated gif maker program and make one frame
and use the transparent colour the places you want the photo to
be it should work
you could try loading some of those templates from that site into the animated gif maker program
which animated gif program you should use?
and where should you download it ?
www.download.com
and look for yourself
i dont know which ones are good

iDeas for touch orientated applications

I would like to start by saying that I am no longer a Coder.
I am really impressed by Tene for his Contact Manager. Such a simple and effective design is to be admired.
So I wondered what else could be done by clever coders?
Here are just some ideas...perhaps others will flesh them out, mock them, or better them:
Calendar viewer
using the same interface it could be possible to flick through our calendar entries...the a-z menu perhaps replaced by days of the week. Instead of favourites maybe that screen could be a new appointment creation screen.
Task Manager
similar to calendar manager but for tasks...
Picture Viewer
Again same basic interface but now using thumbnails instead of names...
Music Player/Manager
Perhaps even mp3s could be served up in the same manner...flicking through playlists selecting one and then going into the right hand detail screen to flick through the tracks...
I am struggling to find an easy program that allows me to quickly create an ordered playlist from disparate albums.
File Manager
Imagine flicking through the directory structure and manipulating files by fingers...
I just thought it would be good to start a thread of ideas for members to make touch orientated program suggestions.
not the least to Tene...
All the best,
Sam
Just thought I would raise the post again in case anyone was interested in adding ideas...
All the best,
Sam

Animation

I was thinking of an idea for a program the other day at work. Me and another guy were really bored so we started to make flip book animations. Then I thought it would be cool if there was some program were I could take pictures of each frame then use the program to animate it. Is there any such program out there?
imageready in adobe cs2 does exactly that. it's used to make gif files

Moving Wallpapers

i havn't been on the website in a long time and really love all the option you guys put up here. i will be receivin my tp2 come monday and really interested in using the HDWall, but has anyone created a software were it allows you to use a video or .gif file? i have tons of pics to choose from 1 for portriat and 1 for landscape but what about video? granted these phones prob are not made to handle constant video or i could be wrong, but a program that lets you compress a video or use a .gif and if possible run of a memory card would be a plus to minimize the use of the rom. am i making any sence, i think it would be cool. how long should it run, how big a file size it can be, i wish i was a programmer/dev. anyone can tell how i go about that, can it be self taught or a course is required.
it could be video clips, cartoons or a slide show of pictures
the new dusk sense rom/theme i believe has an animated wallpaper feature, its not really developed alot though, but this would answer your question....

Share your screensaver images!

I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread for sharing screensavers for the STR's lovely Pearl screen.
I'll start: these are some photos of Mies Van Der Rohe's 'Barcelona Pavilion', taken about 2 years ago. Of all my images, these really show up best on the e-ink screen, which seems to deal much better with light greys than it does with darker ones.
I've not added any watermarks to the images so as to be as useful as possible; please respect the fact that these are my own work. Feel free to use them for personal use -- just don't let me find them on DeviantArt, etc!
Enjoy, and, I look forward to others sharing
EDIT: Oops, it seems the forum resizes images and converts to jpeg... go for the zip for the proper files.
Very nice. I grabbed a bunch of public domain images off of Google (mostly Albrecht Durer, since the woodcuts really look good on the e-ink screen), and use those for my screensaver. I would think Japanese woodcuts would look great as well, but I haven't downloaded them yet.
For those that don't know, you just need to greyscale the image, resize to 600 X 800 (or close to, and then crop to size), and load onto the main memory in a new folder. You can then select that new folder in preferences.
Here are some good Star Wars screensavers I found on the internet. Don't know the author nor their origin.
And another Star Wars screensavers. I will add also not SW ones
Demo Mode!
I was looking around in the NST filesystem and found the images for the demo mode! (You know the pictures you see on the nooks on display at the store) I also found the images for the default screen savers. (authors and nature) Funny thing about nature, is that one of the pictures is of Potter Marsh, very close to where I live!

Very interesting. Could you also upload the default ones? I recently ordered NST and I want to use these on my old iRiver Cover Story for a while. Thank you!

For quotes to be viewed properly, use Nook Touch Mod Manager to turn off the screensaver banner.
