is there a rom without the touchscreen capabilitys? i read online if you explore the phone goto windows folder nd delete the welcome file it will make the phone boot with no tap here to setup alignment on your phone.. had to do a hard reset and it didnt work... i would liek to use the phone without touchscreen versus it beign a complete brick
oh yeah.. i tryed to delete the welcome file but it says write protected/in use by another program.. and thats why i was asking if by chance someone had a rom without the file

I CANT use the touchscreen therefore i cant start the alignment which means i cant startup my phone now.. i would do it if i could but i cant.
i need a rom without the welcome file in it.
Hi Chad....had da same prob and I downloaded MSP Remote Alignment and I now use my WING without the touchscreen.

Ok so heres what happened to my XDA which proberly happened to yours.
I went onto the 02 site and got the latest radio stack upgrade for my xda, but i didnt have the sim in my device so once it finshed and restarted the xda it crashed because there was no sim in it. So i hard reset it.
Causing it to hang on the boot screen showing the G & U letters on the side for about 4 minutes before booting to a blank screen with the keyboard icon in the corner.
*** Please remember at the moment my status LED isnt working showing there is no battery (but still booting etc - P.S i have installed a new battery - no diffrence) ***
Heres how to get it working...... remember that everything takes longer because the XDA lags like mad.
Ive created this guide myself ive took nothing from anyone else info ive done this from scratch, it will need to be done everytime the machine runs out of power (hard resets).

* when i put " + " it means AT THE SAME TIME e.g button1 + button2 = keep pressing them at the same time.
** I refer to the directional keypad centre button as the "OK" button.
Make sure you have the correct RSU Version from here :>

Download it and put the files onto an SD card.
1. Boot up the device
2. keep pressing the OK button + volume button until it shows the today screen, please note there will be no titles on the screens, HENCE NO START BUTTON.
3. Then press the contacts button + THEN OK a few times, then press the OK button this should bring up the start menu
4. CLICK programs, file explorer, select the SD Card. Then Copy RSUPGRAD.exe to : my device > windows>start up.
5. Copy the remaining 3 files to the : my device > windows
6. Soft Reset Device
7. Click on start (on the upgrade util) it will then restart the device because theres no LED for the battery (hence the 1% then fail).
8. Once started it should then start up as it did when it came out the box giving you the windows setup screen.
9. Go into file explorer and delete tha flas util file from the startup.
Thats it!
- Remember if you hard re-set the device again it will need to be re-done, i dont know how to solve this problem LONG TERM, im giving my XDA to 02 to fix it...... been as its there screw up.

Does this actually flash the gsm radio? If it does then why does it need reflashing following a hard reset?
No it doesnt re-flash it.............
All i know is that it fixes it and many people have had the same problem but had no replys so id thought id help them out :roll:

Do you have a link? it will be intresting to find out how i can get my LED working again so the system will be able to work once more.
EDIT: IF THE BATTERY LED/STATUS IS UNKOWN (as in my case)

would it be possible to use the xda developers 1.2 special edition ROM instead of the 1.1 version for this procedure?thats the only rom i seem to have found.
Boogie, I think you need only the radio stack not the rom if I read the post correctly. The special edition rom contains NO RADIO STACK.
That´s not 100% correct. I´ve noticed, that some ROMs wouldn´t boot up so that you can follow the procedure.....

hey guys this is my 1st post to this forum, but for the last year or so I've found it very helpful.
I was experiencing this same issue it would just boot up and hang on the welcome screen for what seemed like an eternity. I gave up and just left it booting up and finally the today screen came up. This is what I tried and it worked. All of this was after a hard reset when I tried to upgrade the radio stack and it fell into this infinite loop of 1% and fail and reboot. I had read a couple of the procedures for doing a radio stack upgrade but here is some of what I did.
In one of the procedures it says to copy the files to ur ppc windows directory and to copy the exe file to ur windows startup directory. I figured I would bypass that in some way. After I finally got to the today screen and used my pc to copy the files to the sd card, I copied all the files to the windows directory on the device and ran the exe file from the windows directory. It worked like a charm and my ppc was back to life. It no longer took for ever to get passed the welcome screen. I hope this helps some of you that have this issue

I have a Samsung i760. I have tried all sorts of programs including this one without any luck. Is it possible that Samsung has locked the phone that good that I am not able to change the bottom buttons????
Anyone have any idea. I tried to extract the softkey.exe file from the rom. I got it to my computer but am unable to disassemble the .exe file due to it not being a Windows32 file?????
I am completely stuck. Any input would be great.

Nope doesn't work. Neither the download or the website faq. I tried everything. For some reason Samsung or Verizon had really put a good lock on this right button. I am able to change the left button but not the right.
Im going to keep tinkering with it and hopefully.

I found a neat program today.. to record my phonecalls.. all was well.. i got it to work (yay) but not entirely satisfactory. there was a loud BING when i started recording.. but there is a thread about it here on the forum.. just edit some registry settings and yer good to go...
alas.. i went into the registry with pocket commander and it was then it happend.. when i was clicking on the folders in registry i accidentely renamed the folder Software in HKLM to sz.. aw well i thought.. no problem i'll just change it back..
the thing is.. it seem like my blackstone didn't take to kindly to not having the Software folder.. so it created a new one... with not quite so much information in it as there was in the newly named sz.. ok...
this meant i couldnt rename sz back to software... so.. i thought i could copy the content of the folder sz into the newly created Software.. and i did.. and it seemed to work.. until i did a soft restart..
it hangs with the "smart mobility" screen.. it displays the red numbers.. but it wont go any further...

So, now you should know how to hardreset your device. It´s written in the wiki:
Switch off your device, hold both volume keys and shortly use the power switch.

in order to change your registry you must have a running os. In case that it doesn´t work you have to hardreset.
Thanx man.. that means i'll do the facory reset now and maybe go for a freshly cooked rom tonight.. cheers..
I tried to install Battarystatus on my wing with Touchflo. It did install but I was not able to see it on my today screen. Everytime I would run the program I would get a message saying I need to enable battarystatus. It never worked. I even installed Homesreen plus plus and at the exe file it would not load. Anyone know what im doing wrong. I have been reading that i should overclock my wing to 247-260 and would love to know how to do it.

So I downloaded omapclock plus and im stuck. When I goto to settings and click it a window opens up and says "can't load omapclock.ink. The "register" and "unregister" is graded out. the only thing I can change is the omapclock.ink path. right now it shows \windows\startup
Someone please help.... Im really having a hard time over clocking this thing with any cab's...

Do you have the actual program on your phone, lol? omapclock.exe
you need that in order to overclock. it seems like you have the startup link to the program but you dont have the program on your phone and you have the program to control the speed.

I downloaded from my phone first and tryied to install it. as soon as i clicked the zipped exe file i would get to the screen that asked to register and notregistered. it said below can't find the omapclock.ink file?? I tryed a few times then I deleted it. I would like to try it again... can you help me? Is it downloadable from my phone or do I need to use my pc? I did it both ways....

its your lucky day, i just uploaded what you need to overclock, enjoy...
almost forgot, be careful when overclocking, you can destroy your phone! if you overclock too high your screen will go CRAZY (you'll find out what im talking about) so its better to open/click the OmapClock.exe file that you just placed in the windows folder and play around with it before you use OmapClockPlus to register the speed you want. TRUST ME
actually it would be best if you make a shortcut of the OmapClock.exe to your startmenu\programs folder so you dont have to open the file explorer to find OmapClock.

just wandering if anyone can help , ive just got an htc hd2 very pleased with the phone but ive got one small prob , after finding this website and others for apps and such , when i try installing them on my phone by running the cab file , the phone seems to start installing , but the screen goes blank and then nothing , when i press the end key the quit opera sign comes up , then thats it nothing , so i havent managed to install anything yet , really getting frustrating , can anyone advise
have u tried downloading the cab file on ur pc n then transferring it across to ur phone then open phone explorer n click on the cab file and select location for install hope that helps

yeah the rom is 1.66.405 , just tried another , and the screen just went white with an icon in the bottom corner , when you tap icon it comes up with the opera browser options , i just exit and thats it , do you just explore the folder where app is installed , then tap the setup file ?

i put the cab file on my hpone select in to install it the says select location to install phone or card it installs it says succesful then normally appears on tthe start menu try hard reset or a new rom

Are you opening opera? there should be no reason opera is opened when you do this. Are you using file explorer to find the cab file, then clicking it?
i use file explorer to find file , then i tap the setup file then opera seems to launch , the only reason i do that is the screen goes blank with the up icon in the corner , and when i tap that and exit it says do you want to exit opera ? i just dont whats goin on with it ? any ideas
Are you successfully connecting to activesync on your PC? You need to have activesync installed on your pc to transfer and install the cabs.
so i cant just put the files on the phone then run them from there , they have to be run from active sync ? coz im not sure how to do that ?
