network connection (3G) lost - looks connected - P3600 General

Hi,
I have a trinity updated to WM6.1 and radio version 1.38.00.11
I normally use push for my mails, calendar etc, but after the latest rom/radio update, I have noticed that I do not get all the updated I expects to get.
the network indicator icon in the upper panel shows that I am connected to the network, but in ActiveSync the status says "waiting for network". I have to disconnect the network and then reconnect in order to get activesync to work. After some time (from 1min to several hours) I suddenly have the same problem again. Does anyone know what can cause this? is it the radio software that is broken?

ActiveSync / GPRS connected icon never disappears... ???

Here's a weird one: (Not me - the problem )
A few days ago my XDA2 (original ROM) started displaying the 'connected version' of the signal strength icon (i.e. the signal strength icon with the double arrows above it) all the time, whether I'm connected with ActiveSync or GPRS or not. It doesn't matter whether I connect/disconnect from the cradle or connect/disconnect GPRS I never get the basic GSM icon with the signal strength meter and the antenna symbol.
Functionality hasn't changed - it's just irritating. Everything still works perfectly.
I don't have a lot of external software on my machine and the only thing that changed recently is that I tried the freeware T9 dialler that elir is offering in these forums (ExtPhone). I doubt that could cause this strange behaviour.
Any ideas anyone?
TIA
You need to be careful with this SiliconS since I had a similar experience last weekend and I know that I will get charged for some GPRS use on my next bill.
This is what I think happened:
 I have OmegaOne Journal Bar installed and last weekend I altered some settings.
 Journal Bar updates on ActiveSync, which up until then was no problem because the previous settings only downloaded content when in the cradle and attached by USB to my PC.
 SPB GPRS Monitor informed me that there was GPRS traffic during the night on Saturday and Sunday.
 I think that in the absence of an active connection through the USB (PC switched off!) ActiveSynch used GPRS to update Journal Bar.
If you've got Journal Bar installed be careful :!:
You mention other software in your post, take a close look at it and see if it's likely that it will be using a GPRS connection to download. Alternatively post details of your installed software and I will try to comment. I'm sure that there are people out there who will also help.
Thanks for your suggestion, micken. I don't use JournalBar but I do have WeatherPanel which could be updating itself through GPRS. However, when I tap the Connectivity icon I'm not connected to GPRS - I have the links to connect GPRS (O2 GPRS and WAP network GPRS). Also if I hold down the red button to disconnect GPRS, nothing happens to the Connectivity icon - it doesn't change back to the 'not connected' version.
So I think I'm not connected to GPRS - only the icon is stuck that way.
:?:
Hi, looks like that's a software bug that's crept in then.
Hope you manage to fix it or find a workaround.

use an external modem: 3G indicator works

Hello,
I have noticed something odd on my TyTN (latest official European firmware). I have set up a connection that uses a bluetooth modem (my other cell phone, as this has a different data subscription).
New, when the internet connection is made, a ballon message pops up. But sometime (oddly enough, not always), the antenna strength indicator is animated and shows a 3G connection. I can verify that the TyTN is NOT using its own dataconnection, but is really connecting via bluetooth as it should and using that connection. Also, in connection manager, the button "data" has become active (but pressing it simply makes it go to unavailable, it doesn't disconnect).
Is there any reason for this behaviour?
(it also occurs when connection to my other phone using IR)

Data Connection goes bezerk/dead!

Hi everyone...
I have an odd problem with my ToucH HD data connection. Usually it happens by the end of the day.
When I arrive home, I disconnect HDSPA/3G and connect Wifi because my data plan comprises only 100Mb per month.
At the end of the night I disconnect Wifi and connect hSDPA/3G again, but the connection goes crazy.
Usually the weather widget still works (at first), but no other app that needs web connection. No Opera, no MSN, no mail... everything with connection error. Then even the weather widget too...
In the commManager the DataConnection is active and when i click on the H on top of the screen i can see that HSDPA is connected and there is a time counter... counting. I've even tried the "Connection wizard" (i suppose it's its name, since my TouchHD is in portuguese), then a soft-reset, but nothing. Is stays the same apparently connected, but no application being able to connect the internet. Just as if some communication layer that serves the applications had been disconnected from the HSDPA network.
The only way I have to "solve" this problem is by doing a restore of an image i created while the HSDPA connection was working. But I suppose having to do this at least once a day does not seem to be a good remedy, at least in my humble opinion.
Do you have any suggestions? I'm running the latest HTC official ROM for Europe, release Apri 7th.
Thank you in advance.

Problems with using S200 as a 3G Modem?

Hi!
Does anyone have issues using the S200 as a 3G modem?
The specific problem I am having is as follows:
I can establish a connection (either via USB connection + Internet sharing; or by Wifi Router) and the internet works (on HSPA or EDGE/GPRS depending on coverage - and accordingly there is indication of "H" "E" or "G")
But sometimes the connection just dries up... on Windows, the icon that says I have a connection (the roundish one for USB, or the wifi single bars for Wifi) gets an exclamation bar which means "no internet"
If this happens, very rarely it fixes itself (I think this happens when the phone drops the internet connection after timeout for non-usage and is able to recover the connection; but I'm not sure). But sometimes the problem occurs even in the middle of a download...
And most of the time, I have to soft reset to restore connectivity (removing and reconnecting via USB, or stopping/starting WifiRouter doesn't help).
This could possibly be an issue with my provider (but, on regular 3G modems this problem hardly ever occurs at all; but happens generally at least 1/day with my phone) but I doubt it... I don't think it's an issue with a specific ROM because I've had this problem across many ROMs.
So, if anyone has any experiences to share it might be helpful to track down the problem...
Cheers

[Q] HTC Touch 2 Data connection problem

Hi all, I'm new here, and I haven't found anyone with my same problem (even though one had it but resolved unistalling everything he had installed more than the ROM...of course i have already tried and even formatted my phone & reinstalled the ROM, but nothing changes)
When I try to data connect 2 messages appear to me..the 1st one says:
"Not able to connect
The answer's modem is disconnected. To verify & eventually modify the connection settings, touch "Impostation"" (I'm translating directly from Italian )
if I press ignore, the 2nd message is right back the 1st:
"Attention
A problem has been verified in the connection of the GPRS service using the registered domestic net"
Any clues? I'm running the latest official italian htc windows 6.5.5 ROM, and I updated to the last RADIO ROM
Thanks
p.s.: the little "icon" near the signal strenght is not white as it always was, but it seems "dotted", like if it is trasparent, even if it does calls & such, it can't connect to internet...
EDIT: I can't access to my home's wifi neither! I can connect to it but it doesn't go to internet (of course it works on every other computer :S)
