I second the invisible shield... make sure you put it on right the first time because it doesn't really like to come off.

Where to get an invisible shield?

Here you go.

Invisible Shield from here: http://www.zagg.com. I ordered one for my Tilt on Monday (this week) and still waiting for it.

tips for invisishield
make sure your hands are CLEAN, your phone is clean, your work area is clean with absolutely no dust or lint. you can substitute a bowl of water with 2 drops of dish detergent for the application solution. I dip my fingers first, shake excess, dip invisishield, let excess runoff, then apply, check for lint/dust before smoothing out. If any appears under shield, remove right away and re-dip shield before applying. I used a good quality microfiber, dampened, ring out excess water and use constantly to soak up excess solution before it accumulates on you.
This product is awesome.

Scanned Invisible Shield
Can someone provide a scanned invisible shield still in it sticker's backing. I'm cheap i just need the template and make one off transparent tape hehehe.
I'm also thinking of customized skin, and the invisible shield would make a good template.

wouldn't it be easier if you were to measure the length & width of the screen by yourself with a tape measuring ???

I really would not do that, unless you plan to never remove it. It will leave a horrible sticky substance all over your phone that may actually damage it. I had to order a replacement phone. It was packaged in bubble wrap when it arrived, and the bubble wrap had a small sticky strip to close it. Well, apparently whoever closed the wrapper wasn't careful, and it was stuck to the phone. It was only a little bit, but I was never able to remove it. Needless to say, I called AT&T and they had to send out another replacement.

Piel Frama Case

Well, i have send a mail to Piel Frama, i was wondering of they are also

Dear Tidde,
First of all I would like to thank you very much for your interest in our
products.
Regarding your question, we have to inform you that we have just received a
device for this model, and we have just started the manufacturing of the
first sample case for this device, so, we will have cases available for this
model in about 15 days. Don’t hesitate that we will put in contact you as
soon as we have the first sample case finished.

Nice. I also emailed Ruben yesterday asking the same question.
Maybe we should use this time to provide this vendor with some input. Request things we would like to see in an Athena case by compiling a list from interested members then send this to Ruben. What do you guys think about the idea?

Great idea.
First request has to be - magnets to hold the keyboard in the case, and not a nasty plastic sheath like on the otherwise excellent PDair case.
Belt clip...suggestions to Piel Frama.
Of course, we must have a belt clip.
No plastic cover for the screen please. I haven't had a case that has plastic for the screen that I've liked. I always ended up cutting out the plastic. I like using the screen protectors better and allows you to actually tap the screen without issues.
Place a plastic see through "window" on the case to be able to view the "status bar" when the phone is "closed". I would like to be able to see this area when having the phone closed while in its case.
Mesh covering on the speakers. I don't like to cover the speakers at all but would like a mesh covering to protect it without hindering the sound.
If I think of more items I'll post them.
Edit #1: No flap (closing snap or whatever it's called) on the case please. As with the original case, this isn't needed and I see most others have this. It just gets in the way and is annoying and not necessary for this phone.
Edit #2: Maybe a plastic insert for the clear plastic end of the keyboard to avoid scratches on the device. This is a bit stretching it but I'm posting the recommendation anyhow.

personally, i think most of the Athena owner won't really want belt clip, it's too heavy and big to use it that way, and also most importantly, there is just no suitable place to allocate the belt clip, if the belt clip is under the screen, then the surface is not flat anymore therefore you can't use the keyboard.
Personally, i think 80% that Piel Frama Case won't have a belt clip.
p.s. I know a few members here in this thread will want to prove me wrong, well, all i can say is time will tell.
The great thing about the Piel Frama cases is that the clip is optional. You don't have to attach it if you don't want to. If you do want the clip, you pop out a little plastic thingy and screw in the clip "wheel" and use a clip...so this solution will work for all...hopefully.
Edit: Here's an animated GIF of how the clip system works on their cases... http://www.pielframa.com/Animaci%F3n%20grande%20pinza%20super%20nueva.gif

I'm e-mailing Ruben now asking him to check out this post.
Well done, hopefully he will look here and see what options are possible as they go to design? I definitely DO want a belt clip, as where I work I need both hands, but would like the Ameo handy when it's needed!!
Tim
I want:
Mostly as per the PDair case - I like the protection at the front of the Ameo.
Magnetic keyboard attachment, magentic, slide or push clip latch to keep it closed.
Belt loop, or another method of attachment that doesn't leave a component on the case. No pegs.
I don't like the status bar, I don't "use" it per se. It wastes backlight, running the whole screen, and isn't visible in the case anyway.
Of course, I really want it to be Not As Good (or just the same) as the PDair case, so I don't end up spending YET MORE MONEY!
Man, don't you peoples' pants/trousers ever fall down from weighty clip ons? There's NO WAY I could clip the Athena. My pants would come down to my knees!

I actually wear pants that fit like they are supposed to.
For me, the three things I'm looking for in a case are:
1) Something like the pdair case covering the housing of the phone in leather so the keyboard plastic bit doesn't scratch the screen.
2) Clip/latch to hold the thing shut.
3) Magnetic keyboard holder.
I personally don't need a belt clip, but any company that made it optional would probably be selling a lot of cases at the moment!
P.S. Has anyone noticed that Proporta are working on a case at the moment? It's on their website, but sadly no pictures yet.
All good idea to refer him to this post.
The belt option is no solution for this type of device i thinks
indead to carry a brick on you pants is not the way.
I think there should be made a wallet like case with the option to take
also some memory cards and other stuff in it, indead avoid the plastic
holder for the keyboard.
this case looks very nice.
http://www.pielframa.net/texas_instruments_voyage200.asp
let see where they come's up with..
I think that a belt clip or at least an option to have one would be a great idea. Would mean that the case would appeal to more customers from a marketing side of things. I would wear mine on a belt clip at work and then prob put in my pocket in the evening.
I wonder if anyone would make a leather case just for the screen without the keyboard? Id like to just carry the screen around without the keyboard, yet id be worried about the screen being protected when in my pocket.
So funky new case is a great idea, lets hope and im sure it will be a smart case
i'm looking for pielframa's UNIVERSAL PDA CASE BLACK fit to the athena (perfect would be a seperate pocket for the keyboard).
A case for parts of the Athena
The case that comes with Athena is very good when you want the whole thing with you. What I would like is a case that allows me to only take the phone part, not the keyboard. Something slim that protects the screen. It would allow me to safely take the Athena with me when space is sparse.

Can I wash and reuse factory screen protector?

That's pretty much my question. I read the thread talking about doing this with aftermarket ones, and wish I had read it before I applied mine. I got dust under mine. basically want to know if I can wash the one that came with the Fuze and put it back on, before I spend 20 bucks to have a new one shipped to me.
The short answer is "Yes"
Lukewarm water is a good place to start, and don't bother to try to get the "down" side (the sticky side) completely dry: just flap about a bit until most of the water shakes off.
Might find it works better if you have some non-greasy soap around - note that most of the soaps available today will leave their OWN residue behind!
Another handy trick for removing spots of DUST is to simply pick them up with tape. This technique is particularly worthwhile if your only complaint is a small number of dust spots that you can remove (with the tape) by only having to lift one corner of the cover.
Find that a microfiber cloth does a good job with the Exterior service of the screen cover, with a bit of "Safe For Coated Lens" cleaner sprayed on the cloth if the cover is particularly grimy....
Why would you when they only cost a few pence!!!!
I just use regular seetrough tape, apply it all around, rub it on tight, then pull it of. after that apply it imidiatly to the phone, otherwise it'll collect dust again.
water didn't work on mine.
@jim: you would because this is FREE, no trouble and no waiting for your products (some people can only order them online from other countries and have to wait a week (or 2) ). + I think the factory one is the best (I have a differrent one but I liked the factory the best)
Thanx for the help. I heard the factory one was the best as well, that is why I wanted to stick with that one. That being said, I was using my phone in the car the other day,(not whilst driving) and forgot I left it on my lap, and well got out. long story short I guess I'll have to order a new one anyway. the phone made it alright, just 2 small chips. lucky i had the screen protector on though. Any one know of any as good as factory?
I just put a Martin Fields protector on my Fuze and love it. It's definitely on par if not better than the factory one.
Have an Exim screen protector on its way, but don't expect to receive it until early (hopefully) next week.
Have also been pleasantly surprised by the included screen cover - but wish they had included a protector for the keypad area as well. At the moment, intent is to mount the Exim's keypad cover once it arrives and save the screen cover until ready to replace the OEM one.
Pricing on screen covers varies widely: have had good luck with Boxwave covers for my Axim, but am ready to try some of the less expensive options with the Fuze.

you can use the steam trick, go into a small bathroom and run the hot water until there is a lot of steam. This will drop the dust particles from the air, ensuring you don't get any dust on the screen or protector while applying.

These are reasonable priced and offer excellent protection.

Anyone tried this Sheild?

I was browsing through the net and came across this invisible sheild. Looks good. Has anyone tired this?
What do u guys think it will work?
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I have it on my Hermes and like it for the most part. I like how they have a lifetime warranty on it. The downside is that it collects dust on the edges at times and installation isn't so fun (although i would assume it to be a lot easier for the X1 since it is more of a geometric figure).
I think its a must for the X1 specially the black ones which are having a issue of color giving away.
My concern was has anyone installed it on the x1?
How easy is it?
Does it get a good finishing?
Generally the Invisible Shield provides great protection against small bangs and is certainly scratch proof. I have previously applied to an iPod Touch and to an Omnia and they both covered the entire surface area of the device. I was slightly surprised to find some areas, albeit very small areas to the side of the X1, were not covered by the skin. This, however, is pretty insignificant and all the main areas are well protected including the screen. I have read on other forums that the sizing of the the screen protector has caused some people problems but with a bit of manipulation, it fits perfectly under the rim of the case. Installation can be a bit fiddly but providing you use the included squeegee, any air bubbles or slight discrepancies disappear in a couple of days when the application liquid dries out.
I love the slightly 'rubbery' feel as it helps grip and I think it also feels nice on tactile for the stylus on the screen.
All in all, to be recommended.
I have read of a few problems with this particular shield, the lettering ripped off the back when trying to fix or replace the plastic... pain in the rear to put on etc, if I can find the links I will post them later...
Wrong thread!

thanks for your help? Also wanted to know if there are chances of the liquid used at the time of installation to spoil the phone?
Also does the corners of the shield start to open up after a prolonged used? Pics please if u can. ALso the rubbery feeling does it stick to the inside of your pocket when u try to remove the phone. I remember those silicon covers (famously known as C0nd0m covers) which flooded the market a few years ago.

dont even THINKING about getting the invisible shield from Zagg.
check the reviews and multiples negative thoughts and pics after it was applied.
http://www.inxperia.com/forums/accessories/527-do-not-waste-your-money-invisible-shield.html
NO
I definately wouldn't stick anything like this to the body of my phone and am even hesitant to stick shields to my screen but have done anyway.
I decided to go for a crystal case. The first time I have used one and normally preferred silicon cases.
The last silicon case is the one currently on my iPhone and although it protects from slight scratches (coins etc on the back) it does nothing for dropping it.
The silicon simply compressed when the phone hit the floor and it got a nice deep scratch on the corner just as if it had had no cover.
I put the screenshield I got for the iphone on my xperia instead and bought this crystal case.
It's a nice fit, holds nicely, everything is nicely accessible and it seems sturdy.
I havn't dropped the phone yet so can't comment on its performance in this circumstance but i'm sure i will find out son enough.
Problem with the logos is that they are printed onto the paint which in turn is painted on to the metal. Before my crystal case I already have a few parts where the black paint on the battery cover has scratched off.
Crystal case pros: cheap, sturdy, effective, easy to apply and remove.
Crystal case: Cons: Lots of dust gets under them so if you want your phone to look nice you need to take it off and wash it regularly.

Is it a good idea to put Gmask on the Nexus One?

When I get my unit, I'll make sure that I won't get dust in because it would be very difficult for me to return it or get it fixed. Because the phone's not available in my country, I'm pretty sure that I can't buy accessories for it here.
I think, the solution is putting Gmask on it. I'm lucky that they have branches in my area.
Do you think, it would be a good idea to put Gmask on the Nexus One (to generally protect it and avoid the dust issue)?

GMask covers handhelds and laptops (and maybe any type of gadget). You bring it to their store then they'll cover the unit 100%, I suppose. I think, their skins are custom made for every device they handle. They also have screen protectors.
According to their website, they support every mobile phone. They show the G1 on www.gmask.com/device/phone

Ah... I see. It's similar to Invisible Shield and the other clear skin type protectors.
To really make sure your screen is protected from dust (or as much as can be possible), make sure there's no clicking sound when you push on any of the corners. If there is, immediately warm the screen up with a blow dryer for a bit and use moderate pressure to push down on the corners and sides of the screen to seal it properly. Should be fine afterwards.

However, the spaces between the screen and the unit aren't covered so that doesn't assure me that it's a solution for the dust. I hope, they also cover 100% (except the holes and ports, of course)

That's easy, don't put one on. Its pretty scratch resistant, and there is nothing you can put on there to prevent major damage. Every cover I have tried just made it more difficult to swype, or smudgy etc...

i have had good luck going with bodygaurdz. Not too rough but enough to know its there. I had trouble adjusting to the slick glass screen coming from the TP2 so it helped slow my finger down.
I agree with the OP, i had a Zagg on my G1, and I've stated in other posts myself, i don't like the "Grip-y-ness" of it, makes it a pain to swype/pinch/slide your finger across it. I'm just gonna say basically any generic screen protector you see at wal-mart or something is gonna be next best choice, but will offer minimal protection. Just don't take a dremel to your phone, and should be enough protection from sand/change in the pocket type scratches. Just make sure it sticks good, I had one on my first iPhone, and some sand got underneath it and it just peeled right off. That's probably where Zagg helps the most, those things stick like glue.
if you want some slickness, go with a matte screen protector those are suuuuper slick and resist fingerprints as well. i went with an ultraclear though, just didn't like the way the matte ones diffused the light. well at least the brando one.

I do have to say though that it was allot easier of and installation then any other Zagg I have ever installed (I have installed tons) and it is allot let grip on the screen portion it self where your finger doesn't stick like it would with previous shields. I believe that they may have changed the shields up as well at the packaging and instillation process.
i would like to have one that you cant even tell its there so it doesnt interfere with clarity of my movies lol
That youtube video is just stock glass. He doesn't have an invisible shield on it. In which, the stock glass is pretty durable, but i dropped my phone the other day (the day before i got my case D and it hit corner first, but laid screen down. I picked it up and blew on it, before i even touched it, didn't want any dirt still on it. There is 1 very tiny spot on my screen where you can tell a grain of sand hit it and its just a little crooked line you can barely see in proper lighting. So a grain of sand can scratch it, provided it's rubbed against concrete -.-.
I had the screen protector T-Mobile sales on mine and my wifes HD2 up until yesterday, and changed over to an invisibleshield by zagg. I'm happy with it and haven't had any issues with using the phone with it on there. Plus my movies look A LOT better with it than the previous screen protector.
