usually i get red light flashing for a while when i get a delivery notification ,
but i want it to flash when getting sms , and stop flashing after i read the sms

I have an XDA II from O2, ROM 1.72.00WWE, Radio 1.17.00, Pocket PC 4.20.0, built 14053 and I have the following issue:
When I got an SMS or a missed call, the red LED does not blink. How to solve it?

Does the x1 have a way to customize the sms(email,mms) notification sounds because in Sounds&Alerts there's one option: to change the ringing melody only.
when i got into settings sounds & notifications notifications
i in the event dropdown have tons of both mms and sms sound and notification
options like what sound to play and if it also vibrate
both sendt sms and recieved sms and ... also for mms

Really? I have the stock ROM and it allows both alarms + ringtones + mp3s etc.
Which ROM do you have?
i'm not sure...how can i see what rom i have?
...and one more thing-there's a logo VODAFONE at the back of the phone?Does this mean that they've messed up the menus?
i found it ...but i stll don't know how to check the rom...
THis is a basic part of Windows Mobile, I can't see Vodafone messing with it. You are going into "Settings" then "Sounds & Notifications" correct? Or I suspect you haven't chosen the correct event in the drop down box, as for Messaging:New Text Message you don't get a Ring to change, it asks you which sound to play...
When I get an SMS the screen does not wake up and I only get the incoming SMS sound.
In addition is there a way on the device will wake on SMS and display a preview (like on my old KJAM).
This was nice since I didn't have to go to the SMS page to see the sms and could quick reply.
You have to change a few things in order to make it work like you want it to:
1. Wake Up on new SMS
Use a registry editor and change "HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIN\RIL" "DisableSMSWakeUpEvent" from "1" to "0"
2. To display the preview you have to do two things:
a) Go to settings -> personal -> sounds and chose "New SMS" from the popdown menu. Then activate "show message" (I'm not using an english ROM so I'm not really sure about the name of the box you have to check)
b) Go to settings -> system -> TouchFLO and deactivate the third checkbox from the top (which should say sth about status windows)
...or install HD Tweak

There is nothing about leds in that section
if you chose under event dropbox lets say
Messaging: new text message then you can chose an option flash light for x minutes
I believed that option is no longer available if you are on stock rom (WM6.5)...only on custom ROM are the options still avail...
