I suppose you run 520Mhz and downclock the memory speed.
Try run it on 470Mhz with original memory clk.

I used XCPUScalar 2004 v2.87 to overclock my MDA.

I am not sure what kind of processor MDA compact has,PXA 263?
If yes,you can use the Mamaich's Overclock utility or use Hack Master.

It's PXA272

Use hackmaster and pay attention to memory multiplier.

hmm... what settings should I use?

I was using XCPUScaler and felt the same way (like I didnt realy notice any difference). Then I switched to Pocket Hack master and I think it made a difference in performance even just running it at 415. I would love to see the results of this test using PHM.

I have used XCPscaler and it worked, it said 520MHz just like the previous photo but when I tried Beta-Player to benchmark the device.... it said 416 MHz..
and when I used lower speeds.. Beta-player and the XCPUScalar gave the same result...
so I could only down-clock my device, but I couldn't overclock it...

I'm not getting tired to mention that your battery drain increases dramatically with PHM, even when underclocking! This is due to the non existing voltage control of the processor when using PHM.
I prefer longer use over some more speed when playing games - but that's to everyone himself. Normal applications don't benefit a bit from the faster CPU!

you can choose which applications should use 520MHz
other ones will have only 416MHz

PHM even supports scaling, meaning that it uses a slower clock than normal when not busy and a higher clock when busy. Still, with pure underclocking or using this scaling, your battery drain will significantly be higher than without using PHM. As i said, this is due the non existing capability of PHM to dynamically regulate the voltage of the CPU. If the clock is not set by a software, the CPU automatically reduces the voltage when not in use. This reduces the battery drain significantly (for me, this meant about one day longer usage of my magician).
That is the reason why I don't recommend using PHM, even though everyone can do what he wants. Maybe other softwares are capable of doing this but i doubt it!

The result should made XCPU scaler ashame for showing a faked clock speed. (actually, it start faking this since version 2.85d)

I've installed PHM and my Magician is now running at 520MHz. Does anyone have any bad experiences overclocking theirs?

no man in my opinion throttlelauncher is better, its really speed and you can edit it 100%(Im taking about 1.0 release)

Manila 2.5 QVGA: Development Roll-Call

Hello Folks,
So VGA development for Manila 2.5 is underway, I am proposing doing a collaborative effort with the MuttiM team. I think this would be the grandest app for any QVGA device.
So if you have any development skill, please let us all know in here so we can form a team and get Manila 2.5 working on our devices.

Is it really possible to port it to qvga devices? Does this new manila need 3d drivers? I remember, TF3D-QVGA was working on my device, but with white zones where animation/3d acceleration was needed. And standby problem...

I believe Manila 2.5 has no animatons....it's....kinda of a cross between TF3D and Manila 2D, hence 2.5

sorry to inform, but manila 2.5 is full of animations...every thing you see should be considered an animation element as it can be moved around to whatever place you need...its not a step behind but always a step forward...
since opengl is needed only devices that ran TF3D will be (if its ported) able to run manila 2.5

Yeah TF3D works good on Kaiser. Uses more resources, and I dont use any today items.

I tried running this on my vouge but it wont work. It says tap here to launch touch flo but when I do it says "loading......" then nothing happens.

This is the best UI,why it's not being pursued?

I know many of you use touchflo 3D,with some SPB Mobile Shell.
But I absolutely ditch touchflo 3D first,it's not customizable,that's why I hate it so much,I need a smart UI (user interface) to allow me do whatever I like,for example,remove any icons from the desktop,and add any icons,links,shortcuts,widgets in any place of desktop.
And I will make the background of the desktop clean,crystal,open,sunshine,broad,bright....
This is the ideal UI I am looking for,just like the Window XP or Vista.
Touchflo 3D (or newer version HTC Sense) failed to bring all these amazing things.
Currently I am using SPB Mobile Shell 3.5, it's one million better than touchflo 3D,but it takes me too much time to customize it, for example,you need to remove all unnecessary default shortcuts,widgets from the desktop...in addtion,there are some features I dont think it's practical for users.
One day I saw eXPerience UI devoloped by digitalEXIPIDETION, I think this is the real UI I have been looking for,it's exactly like window XP, but unfortunately digitalEXIPIDETION seems to be closed,I only can download eXPerience for QVGA,nowhere we can find VGA or WVGA.
After painstaking search,I dont think anyone devoloping new version of eXPerience.
Why it's not being pursued? chased?
Does anyone know something about it? I am ready to pay USD50 for eXPerience that are working in HTC Pro2 (WM6.5 rom).

I agree with you on that. i think it(sence 2.1-2.5) should have better custom setting so we can make our ppc's how we want.

So you use GT540 with 2.2 Openswift? how it is? also you use setcpu together? does it harm when we put it to 806 Mhz? Does it drain battery fast?
Also fixing the Mhz to 480 or 600 makes phone faster? Some people say that fixing the Mhz to 480 will make your phone faster...

For me it does. It's different to each phone and apps. Same for "how does i use my device?" If u play all time and watch YouTube videos, ofc it drains very fast. Didn't see any difference when i listen to music in backround.

I can't say yes or no. U can choose some different profiles for SetCPU. For example: your phone screen turns off and SetCPU sets the CPU to 250Mhz. U can save a lot of battery.

I can not say somthing about this. I didn't use 480 or 600mhz. I went straight to 840. Ok, with 840 i've got some problems with reboot and crashes so i set 806 and this works fine for me.

please can someone tell me how to enter fastboot mode on gt540 ? I tried everthing but it didnt work, and yeah do you need fastboot to overclock this phone ? (btw sorry for my bad english)

The best I've managed to get my phone running at is 825MHz but I'm sticking to 748MHz because it gives a reasonable compromise between battery life and performance.

I like to comprimise the battery life for the power, i charge every night so it dosnt matter to me

How accurate is the battery meter on 2.2? The battery meter on Swiftdroid is very unstable, which largely affects it by overclocking.
