I did attempt searching, but seems either no one has done this, or it's something so simple (and which I am oblivious to)... that no one has bothered to ask.

Appears that doesn't have that ability.
Surprised that this hasn't been brought up before. I mean, perhaps many are "ok" with it. I am "ok" with it I suppose, but think it would be much nicer to have it at the bottom.
i actually like the start button on the top. it is a lot easier to manuver everything plus i have everthing set up with the bottom two softkeys

I have a question as nooby as it might sound
I have My XDA Mini S and love it, but the desktop is pretty boring if i might say.
I have had things like Iluncher and stuff like that looks ok,
But i realy like the XP look you can get eXPerience its called
This is ONLY Windows 2003 Compatible, Is it worth installing WM3 on my phone just for this,
Or can anyone recomed a nice Skin that Gtes ride of the boring Start butten at the top and makes it look a little like XP
Or just something that Gives it that Wooooo and not Borining

no need for downgrading an entire OS for the look...u can get a program called Wisbar...u can do crazy things with it....

I have been at this solid for about 24 hours now
i was going to open another post but Oh well,
I have downloaded about 4 Skins and Added them all into one, Some skins there are things i love and others things i dont like.
Its almost looking perfect for what i want, But there was a few things i was stuck on.,
How can i have the Control Pannel (Settings) as a shortcut am trying to creat a docking section with Settings, Programs, Games, and Network on,
But Settings i cannot find it anyway Any Ideas

On the Today Screen you have a section for Messeges, I think thats great when i have a messege i can see 1 new messege or email etc
Is that possible to creat this as a shortcut??

Ok, if I were to try and duplicate/develope the iPhone's (sorry I hate saying that) web browsing/picture zoom feature and add that to a cooked rom for my Wing, where would I start? Or is there one already out and I missed it? I would want to run it on a Touch rom if that helps at all.

No idea. Hopefully soon... so then someone here has to buy the phone, then extract the files ... so someone can put it into the roms... so I would say, it may be a while.
you know that in the pictureviewer, there is an option to zoom/crop and whatever? It may not be shiny, but it works.

Ya, I already knew that. I just want to be able to touch pictures and zoom/scroll through them, and not have to go to a menu to do it...

i dono yet. found this over at Ipmart yesterday though. I tossed it on my touch and my brothers mogul and its sweet. Even my mom was able to navigate WM6 once we showed her this. I'm sure someone will find out how to edit it real soon. Possible skins anyone???

I've read a few sites on this phone now and the opinion varies a bit. One place I found that was good for expert reviews and real life opinion on the Samsung SGH I718 even had a few photos and the like which i found helpful. Hope that helps others that landed here doing their own research:->

windows\launcher.exe can be HEX editet for customizing.

1. background, are you wanting to change just the first tab or all tabs?
2. 3. The today screen is easy just go in to the today settings!!
4. Look and feel, HD Tweak is very good and found that this does work to improve the feel. I would also recommend a custom ROM for the final touch. Dutty is the man to see for these as far as i'm concerned.
-I would like a background for all tabs.
-Want 1 already made, probably wont be able to make 1 myself.
-Is it that simple? like I was thinking about some drastic changes like removing the calendar thing. anyway its not as imprtant as background and the bar.
HD Tweak is the 1 app i currently have, im also very happy with it.

Well its easy but you do need to do a few things, that may seem complicated, take your time with every step have a look at crackwhores guide the link is in my signature, there is plenty of help here so ask as many questions you want we are all happy to help
you can watch a video here that can help make sense of the written guide its not the best video guide but it may help I will search for more vids if possible

i doubt u can.. but look at a Launcher app from the market like Launcher Pro.. its free.. here's how your's can look:

u can only change 2
applications>Menu>Edit
When you are in the app's menu change the view type to Customizable grid. Then tap menu and Edit. You can rearrange the icons and drag and drop from the static menu.
