Bike Mount system utilises Herbert Richter's 4 prong ratcheting system to instantly attach to custom made sleeves for Smartphone, Mobile phones and PDA devices, or universal holders for conveniences.
* Screw mount to steering bar.
* Fits any steering bar
* Two rubber pads included to ensure a solid and secure mount.
* Fits to most steering bar.
* 52mm x 59mm x 42mm
* German made
* Screw mount to steering bar.
* 6mm strong Aluminium core
* Strong and flexible.
* Fits to most steering bar.
* 179mm x 57mm x 42mm
* German made
it looks to me like it would work just as well on a bike or a motorbike. .... I just thought it was funny two "bike mount" questions were ask one after the other.
Hi there! I bought this one:
Of course, I already have the socket, since I previously bought this one.
It is very useful, but it has two problems:
When you reach 170 Kmph the TyTN II tends to get out from the socket.
The arm is too short. So if you have a high pack (for example the SHERPA) on the tank, you can't see the PDA.
The problem 1 is due to the fact that, the socket doesn't have any lock. It should be made in some way.
So I'm still looking for a solution between these ones:
Look for an extension, in order to continue to use the support on the picture above
Look for someone making a handcraft support made to measure
Build a support by myself, in some way
Of course, it is necessary to make tha less expensive choice, since, if I will change PDA, this should be adapted again.
What do you suggest?
I suggest not going so fast with the mount in place, seriously!
LOL, OK! I usually don't go so fast actually. It was just a try to see if it resists!
Anyway, the navigator is fundamental to know where the speed controls are!!! LOL
Here we go!
Here is my handcraft solution!
Awesome!

Yeah, been wondering that one myself.
On a camping trip to Sligo this weekend and if the weather don't hold, the Kaiser in the clear pocket of my tank bag will be destroyed
Was looking at this but for the cost i couldn't justify it
http://www.amazon.com/Motorcycle-WEATHERPROOF-Handlebar-iPhone-Players/dp/B001IB3ODA
Yeah, it's a lot expensive actually. Did you ever thought to buy something like this one as a rain cover?
The picture above is just for an example. It maight be that other models are available on the market.
A tank bag is a big no no for me, €500 worth of paint on my tank
Also CodeJACK can testify what the car drivers are like over here, especially out in the west where I am, you need to keep your eyes facing the road as much as possible, something that mounts up by the clocks is deffo the best option.

Was busy picking my teeth with my stylus earlier, (Yes I know it's disgusting, so don't ask to borrow my exec!) Anyway it got me to thinking what other usefull uses has everyone else found for their stylus's or is it stylii?
So lets hear it people? :lol:

Pick my nose and ears.
Lift up forensics evidence like a police officer.
Clean grout.
Drum.
Show kids cheap magic tricks like swallowing it or pulling it out of my ear.
Balance it on my upper lip.
Twirl it like a mini-baton.
Wield it like a mini-sword.
Throw it up against suspended ceiling tiles.
Mistaken it for a pen when trying to write on paper.
While I'm tapping on my head with it, if I come up with more, I'll post it here.
Cleaning fingernails?
Pick teeth
Clean ears
Balance on top lip whilst making Mick Jagger face
Entwine in hair/beard
Use as a mini spear just like in zulu

Play games with it like 'lose the stylus in between the floorboards then take hours to find it' ?
reset my:

Set the clock on my car
Save channels on my telly
Emergency splint for a broken finger, always worthwhile remembering!
My 7 year old son likes to chew it, like a pencil :-( now it always falls out of my magician. What I do with it? Well I don't chew it, but clean my fingernails & ears, scratch my head, reset my magician, balance it on fingers & others things etc.
You can so much with it, except from normal writing it's the best body extension I can think of (yes I'm very narrow minded) LOL

it does do that, doesn't it.. that strange bend, I can stare at it for seconds.. I'm not sure I get it fully..

Hmmm, my stylus is worn & chewed.
My wife prefers the one on her Wizard, it grows in size when she gets it out and shrinks back down to a managable size when she has finished with it.
I wonder if the bend on the Universal one is designed in, so it can be used as an aid to erectile disfunction? "shudder" :shock:

To bring this only slightly back on topic, I do worry about dropping it and scratching the "glans", in case it subsequently scratches the screen. Even with a screen protector, I notice I've still managed to scratch the scrollbar area.

Wondering how many are going to pay out for the Kaiser and why.
I gots to have my device fix every year, ...I like the thinner Kaiser......but thats really about it..... Getting GPS above and beyond that is NOT going to open my wallet to the tune of $600.
If the Cingular network miraculously has the souped up hsdpa network good to go next year......maybe. If not I'm looking at the Toshiba device....or maybe the Samsung f700 if I can get my hands on it here.
Thanks!

I'm prob going to buy one. I already have someone willing to buy my hermes for the price of the Kaiser as long as I take care of it for them. Bosses wife. I want the GPS, the double in the storage, the thinner size, HSUPA, it is going to have 3.6 HSDPA and I really want the tip up screen. There is also the fact the the keyboard slids out the right side. I like that so that the dial is usable when the kb is pulled out.
Well that is my take on it. I wish the memory was going to 128 but that is prob not going to happen. I will be buying one.
Erik
yeah, but really, the hsdpa boost is good to go in other lands I hear....questionable in the US...wasn't aware of the storage boost.......(that we already have here on XDA!).
I want to stay with the Hermes lineage, which 'been good to me'....but startin to look around.
I think the XDA chefs've devalued the next models for sure!

Agree with everything you said, one question though: does the dial location change in the Kaiser? Because if you slide the keyboard to the left, as in the Hermes, the dial is well accessible. I figure if the dial location stays the same it ain't accessible if you slide the keyboard to the right ... am I missing something?
well, in the hermes it's accessible with your left thumb. as far as i understand, in the keiser it will be accessible with the right hand pointing finger...so it's more usable
I'll get one, but only if it supports the 3G frequencies T-mobile US is going to be on.

With my aquisition of thomspon clinical xpert I had an epiphany on the type of rom I eventually want to create. It would include things such as handy sniffer, bluezard, sniffi, a mac address changer, thompson clinical xpert and some form of an app that can measure weight via the touchscreen (digital scale). lol..

You want to make an app that turn your tochscreen into a digital scale?!?!?? Who said being a "geek" wasn't cool. If possible i wonder what the range would be??? Even just a couple grams would be awesome
I just want to see a rom solely dedicated to pentesting. All out, cain_ppc.arm, etc, etc.
Lol, i like your idea.. a Weed weight Scale
handy for all those junkies out there.. including me
Weed Scale?!?? Who would need a weed scale *puff - puff - pass * *cough* cough* ... I dont think we promote the use of such substances here.... The PC term would be a "jewelers scale"
Hmm... Touchscreen scale...
You know what, that is theoretically possible. Touchflo programs have a pressure measurement associated with them and it shouldn't be all that difficult to utilize the same api (and a few calculations) to get an accurate measurement of (up to) a few grams.
Damn, I wish I had time to play around with this.
If anyone could point me in the right direction for the api's or NETCF 3.5 classes to look at, I may be able to come up with something. I just don't have time to do the searching myself.
I get pissed off when I get tobacco on my phone's screen from having it in my pocket with a pack of cigarettes ...
so I can't imagine using it to weigh weed or any other powdery substances... Plus in my opinion, these types of dealings would require a degree of precision that I don't know most people would want to trust their phone for ... when it wasn't made specifically for.
I think you should stick to a good ole AWS

Agreed. Sandwich bags weigh nothing...
Imagine the look on their faces when you whip out your phone/scale.
Where I come from a sandwich bag weighs .2g . (depending on size) Seems like this idea is getting some play. I'm gonna have to do a little research. This may have been attempted before.
and dont forget to add dopewars to the game section to let people new to the game to practice
The Batman version if he owned a Wing.
Just before ascending on his powered grappling hook, Batman assesses if he can carry Vicky to safety with himself.
Batman (to Vicky Vale): How much do you weigh?
Vicky: A hundred ten...
Batman: Here, hop on my Wing, it's all I carry on my utility belt, besides this grappling hook, but I digress.
The screen cracks.
Batman: 110 huh? I doubt that. You'd better go alone on this ride, hang on. Batmobile, come get me and take me to the T-Mobile store, stat!
Anyone know a good and cheap mount that fits the fuze well? Id like to use a bike computer/gps on it while riding.
Ive looked around on ebay and the web and cant find anything that looks like its sturdy or fits the phone well.
this is for the touch which may not work because its thinner then the fuze

It's your phone, but this sounds like a really bad idea to me. Rain or the splash from a puddle could be rather expensive, not to mention a crash. I'd just use a cycling computer if I were you.
I mountain bike, and I keep my fuze secure in the ipod pouch of my camelback.
Theres a ton of cases for other phones desigined for this reason that are waterproof and mounted to the bike...finding one that fits is the key. All the real cycle computers/GPS are all upwards of $300 - kinda stupid to spend that much when the phone can do all the same stuff.
plus im putting in on a road bike - nothing off road, the worst bumps i encounter are small curbs

I just bought this, closest waterproof box to the phones dimensions
http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-waterproof-aqua-box-3-atv-utv-strap-mount.html
Couldn't use the standard 1 inch u-bolt because my bikes handlebars are about 3inches, hopefully the strap is just as sturdy.
I also got this 1/2 inch foam pad, the box is an extra .38 inches deeper then the phone. I'll slice it to fit or the extra padding might be able to be compressed to make a real tight fit.
http://www.gpscity.com/ram-mount-aqua-box-3-foam-padding-0.5-inches-thick.html
Came to $60 after using a 10% off promotion code (RAMGUF5285) for ram mounts i found online - not too bad when most other waterproof cases are close to $100 with out the mount.
Ill post some pictures and the result once i install it and go for a test ride or two.

Perfect!! this is exactly what i needed. Its soild as a rock - the bracket and arm are all metal and the case is very strong plastic. It doesnt move or bounce at all when going over big bumps.
The best part about it is that the front of the case is soft clear plastic and the touch screen works through it.
Here are some pictures, hopefully this helps other people.

RAM Mount
+1 on using the RAM mount to attach to handlebars (although I have mine mounted on my motorcycle!) but instead of the aquabox (which I also have to use in the rain) I usually have my phone in a ProClip USA mount. I have the charging version (since I have power available, obviously) but in literally 1000's of miles I've never had my treo, 6700, mogul or now my TP come out of the mount, even with some pretty huge pothole experiences...
Regarding the aquabox, it seems to get pretty hot in there, and I've actually thought about drilling a few small holes to allow some airflow. Has anyone done that?
I have one of these:
http://www.boxit.net/engine.php?cat=327
It's the best solution I could find. You can still operate the touchscreen (including scrolling etc) well when it is in the case.
Hi there, thought i might post another little Mod that came into my mind
We all know that the Xperia-Z ist not quite an endurance runner when it comes to Battery-Life and i guess most here will most-likely have a power-bank with them, just in case.
Problem with that is, the o-rings are prone to damage due to opening the flaps all over again.
This is most-likely also a main-reason for water-damaged devices, you know it, i know it, and Sony knows that too.
So lets see what we can do to that dockingstation, so that we get a mobile Power-bank Dock.
Its actually plain simple, you simply get yourself a so called "EasyAcc 3000mah U-Bright"-Powerbank, this Powerbank fits easily centered unto the Back of the Dockingstation without being distinguishable looking at it from the front side, and if you dont know the Dockingstation even sideways.
The Dimensions:
Topside of the Sony Dock : 14,4cm x 3cm
Easyacc 3000mah U-Bright : 10,7cm x 2,2cm
A picture of the Easyacc:

}
which would basically go behind the XperiaZ, and look like this Illustration:
The way you fix it in place would be really up to you, probably glued, or by using neodym-magnets, or probably even some Velcro or zip-ties.
Other than that you just really need a really short usb/-to/microusb-cable that goes from the Power-bank to the Micro-USB-Port
Hope this probably is useful for one or another!
Thanks.
That's actually not a bad idea!

Does anyone know what the voltage/current specs of the dock that connects via the 2 connections on the left side?
Do you mean polarity or really only the specs e.g. Voltage/Amps? The dock itself has an output of 5V/1,8A which is kinda funny as the default Sony-charger is rated 5V/1,5A
The mentioned Easyacc Powerbank outputs up to 5V/2,1A without (verified) getting hot.
Hope this might help

If you are holding your phone horizontal with the connectors facing down (like you would put it in the dock), well then:
LEFT-> POSITIV
RIGHT-> Is negative.
Its actually even marked on the Dockingstation itself, in case you have the Dockingstation

Well i now did the modification mentioned above and iam good actually

Thank you anyways for mentioning it, probably a better alternative to other Users
