easily switch XT9 defaults - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

Hi there!
I made two quick mort scripts to toggle between "default to ABC" and "default to XT9".
I need these because the combination "default to XT9" and stowaway bluetooth keyboard is very clumsy.
so whenever I want to use the bluetooth keyboard i tap the "ABC" icon, and when i quit using it, and i want to use the built in keyboard again, i tap the "XT9" icon.
Installation:
get the excellent MortScript from here
install MortScript to your device
extract the contents of my zip file to your MortScript installation directory.
\Program Files\MortScript in my case
create Shortcuts for both EXE files and place them in your StartMenu (TotalCommander or Resco Explorer can be used for this)
I then used SK Shortcut Manager to add nice icons to these two shortcuts
I added these two to the launcher tab on the HTC Home plugin
now you can easily toggle.
the scripts are super simple and just a single line that sets the correct registry key.
they could of course be enhanced to just toggle with a single skript (and change the icon accordingly), but for me this is sufficient for now

[Voice Command] How to "import" new fonctions

I'm looking for a small .exe file that can switch to Today screen without closing applications (like 'Today' option in SBP Pocket +)
Why, you'll ask me ?
Because I'd like to switch to today screen with my voice using Microsoft "Voice Command"
I'm already able to :
- Power off
- suspend
- soft reset
- Rotate screen
my Magician with some little applications command by voice but I can't find an exe file to switch to today screen...
Thanks in advance
I find what I was looking for
I post it there if it interests somebody...
I use PHM Keys for Pocket PC a freeware developed by Philippe Majerus
I extract PHMKeys.exe (34 Ko) and put it in \Program Files\Today (but you can put it wherever you want)
After this I create a shortcut in \Windows\Starting Menu\Programs to PHMKeys.exe with this Target :
Code:
"\Program Files\Today\PHMKeys.exe" Today?"\Program Files\Today\PHMKeys.exe",-117
I name it Today.lnk
That way when I pronounce "Launch Today" the today screen appears
Very interesting because I also use VC. And I do want to use it for more, than the built-in abilities.
1. How to create a shortcut and what do its elements mean?
2. How to switch between full volume/no volume + vibra? Built in command only changes telephone volume.
3. How do your other named shortcuts look like? (Power off and so on)
I think u can just say "start today" on voice command without any extra addon. I just tried it and it worked.
RE
Hi DocteurN
Can share how to use VC to
- Power off
- suspend
- soft reset
- Rotate screen
and what programs are required?
Thanks
I would realy REALY like to add skype ability to VC.
Much like as the call command works, but instead of a regular, using SkypeOut.
Like saying:
say: Skype <conctact name>
VC response: home or mobile
say: Mobile
I know it's like: offering a finger and trying to take the whole arm, but this would be realy convenient.
Anyone an idea if this could be accomplished?
Chatty > to create shortcut I use Resco Explorer : I Tap and Hold on PHMKeys.exe then Copy. Second Tap and Hold then Paste Shortcut.
A file named PHMKeys.lnk is created.
Rename it Today.lnk for example
Make a tap and hold on this file then Properties > Shortcut
That where you copy :
Code:
"\Program Files\Today\PHMKeys.exe" Today?"\Program Files\Today\PHMKeys.exe",-117
Copy the link in \Windows\Starting Menu\Programs and that's all
ioneng > Yes you're right !
but I'm using the french version of VC and I made a wrong translation of what I said
FOSA > I'm using little exe files (freewares) I've found on the net and that extracted from packages
Here they are :
Heimiko > Sorry for Skype I've got no idea...
Seeking deeply in 'PHM Keys' I find that you can use PHMKey.exe for a lot of interesting things just by creating shortcuts
Here are what you can do (text is from PHM site) :
Today - Returns to Today screen
My Documents - Opens My Documents folder
Close - Closes active program
Task Switch - Toggles between running programs
Next Window - Cycle through open programs forward
Prev. Window - Cycle through open programs backward
Undo - Cancels previous action
Redo - Cancels previous undo action
Cut - Cuts the selected item
Copy - Copies the selected item
Paste - Pastes the selected item
Page Up - Move one page up / to previous page
Page Down - Move one page down / to next page
Volume +/- Changes Volume
Lock - Shows the system password screen
Suspend - Turns off your Pocket PC
Rotate - Next display orientation clockwise
Rotate Left - Toggle display between 0° and 270°
Rotate Right - Toggle display between 0° and 90°
Rotate Reverse - Toggle display between 0° and 180°
I make a zip of all this shortcuts.
You just have to copy PHMKeys.exe in \Windows and the lnk files in \Windows\Starting Menu\Programs (you'd better create a folder before copy)
You can rename lnk files the way you want and it would work with VC
Now I'm looking for an exe file that can mute/unmute the volume.
You launch it one time => mute
A second time => unmute
I only find this utility : AutoMute (11 Ko)
But it intended to turn the volume down for a specific interval of time...
Anybody knows an application that does that ?
RE
Hi DocteurN,
Thanks for the files.
Just one question though. When you use VC to activate the files (like reset, poweroff, screensave etc) is there a pop up message box which says "Are you sure you want to xxxxx...Yes..No" upon which you manually tap either YES or NO action or that it'll execute the program stratightway without any pop up message box?
BTW, where to install all the mentioned files?
Thanks again
No, there is no popup, the program is execute straightway
Where to install the files ?

Anybody has an idea how to make VC read the e-mail to me?
That is what I am really missing on the road
thanks in advance.

Hi!
I think your Reset has a problem.
When I click on it it pops up a message "Are you sure you want to rest your Pocket PC? Any unsaved data will be lost."
When I click on it it pops up a message "Are you sure you want to rest your Pocket PC? Any unsaved data will be lost."

No, Why ?
That what does a soft reset... If you haven't saved your data (a Word document for exemple you'll lost it)
If you're afraid it does a hard reset, that not the case
RE
Hi DocteurN,
There's another soft reset freeware utility which soft resets immediately WITHOUT a pop-up message. I managed to find on the net which does the job nicely.
RE
Hi noviur,
VC cannot read email to you.
What you need is a TTS (text-to-speech) 3rd party program. I think one of the Toshiba's PPC has a simple TTS engine built-in
Thank you, Fosa
I know that it can not... but thought may be somebody tweak it
I was looking for any TTS application for PPC... Found something called Fonix Voice Central - they described it as app, which is doing it - i tried - no way
any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi DocteurN,,

Resco Plugin with Comm Manager / HTC Action (attached)

Guys,
Problem 1: HTC Action & Resco Plug-in
I want to add the HTC Action icon to the Resco plug-in on my home screen. The problem is the attached file puts a default icon shortcut only in programs? Is there an update to the HTC Action cab that includes a proper icon? I am not sure who's this CAB is, but I tried version 1.0 from elsewhere and that one does not even give a shortcut in programs!
Problem 2: Comm Manager & Resco Plug-in
I want to add the Comm Manager icon to the Resco plug-in on my home screen. The problem is in the config for adding applications it does not list Comm Manager as presumably it only lists the files in programs. Is there a way we can add the shortcut to programs and hence I can add to the plug-in?
Many thanks
Hawk
bump up please

Alternatives to cube (Idea)

I have been playing with an idea to re-use the UP gesture on the Touch to do something else since it isn't used with the new M2D interface.
I wanted a quick way to launch the Programs screen without having to open the start menu first.
Here's what I did (you could adjust to do something else like launch a media player or something):
1. Create a shortcut in the windows folder to "\windows\folderview.exe" and call it "biotouchLNK.lnk"
2. Copy Vijay's excellent VJBrisk.exe to the windows folder, renaming it to biotouch.exe
3. In Advanced Settings (I used Onyx so this is built in for me) set cube to Enabled
4. Restart
Now whenever I want to launch programs I can just use the UP swipe and it appears.
Hope this is useful to someone.

"Programs" panel in titanium?

Hi all.. i've searched for a while now and installed multiple plugins, but I still cannot add a "Programs" tab!! I want to be able to launch apps from titanium, is it possible?
I'm looking for the same thing - something to put my favorite apps on so I can launch directly from the Titanium panel.
I thought I saw something somewhere about this but now I can't find it. So I am looking too.....

There is a thread where a chome customizer is developed. With it you can add a plug in and launch your favorite programs, or you can add a new page to an existing plug in, and launch them from there,

hi, i have installed CHome editor but i dont know how to add a program to launch. any help please?
There is a very well explained guide here in post 2. I think you need a few hours on your hands to achieve results though as it does not look straightforward.

I agree, I have played with that program and actually added a programs panel, but then how does one add the necessary items? I think we need a tutorial somewhere on what are the available registry entries for Titanium....

You create a new panel, Launcher for ex., then you add a new page and you add as url a program, then you add another page with another program to launch and so on. Then you can swipe from one page to the next one and tap to launch the program you want. If there are too many favorite programs you could add instead a folder with all the programs in there, or launch a program launcher like iLaunch.
Just a few thought how i would do it.
This is most likely the way to do it:
ACTIONURL= Location of exe/ink/etc for the plugin when you press on the panel or press the center D-Pad Button (Example: ”\Windows\fexplorer.exe” to make the plugin open File Explorer)
SK1URL= Same as ACTIONURL, but for the “Left Soft Key”.
SK1TEXT= The text displayed for the “Left Soft Key”.
SK2URL= Same as ACTIONURL, but for the “Right Soft Key”.
SK2TEXT= The text displayed for the “Right Soft Key”.
DefaultXML/ExtensibilityXML= Active plugins and their order. Also tells CHome which CPR’s to use (filename).
Creating a Programs Tab
From my findings, it seems you can achieve the result you are looking for by editing 3-4 files.
1. bronzeres.dll (this contains the icons for each program you want to launch)
2. Titanium_###x###.cpr files (2 if you have a landscape mode)
3. registry change
What you need to do is change everything that is set for the CWelcomeCenter and turn it into your programs panel. Look at this post for an example of my registry change .dll and .cpr files for an example. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3651793&postcount=78
Hope this helps in your search
got it. Using CHome Editor:
1. open CHome Editor, click Add New Panel, create a name for it (ex. Programs)
2. after adding "Programs Panel", click on Add New Page, then choose "Program" from the list and click on "Create"
3. back to the CHome editor menu, click on Edit Items Value, and choose "Programs" from the list on the left hand list of panels.
4. choose Page 1, and then edit these values:
ACTIONURL= Location of exe/ink/etc for the plugin when you press on the panel or press the center D-Pad Button (Example: ”\Windows\fexplorer.exe” to make the plugin open File Explorer)

SK1TEXT= The text displayed for the “Left Soft Key”.
SK2URL= Same as ACTIONURL, but for the “Right Soft Key”.
SK2TEXT= The text displayed for the “Right Soft Key”.
5. Save and you're done

Thanks for the summary - it makes it so much easier when you see it in a list like that. Just to add for completeness before 5. above
PICTURES= location of the graphic to be displayed in the panel eg. \My Documents\Car.png
TEXT1= Text you want to appear in the panel eg. Tom Tom Navigator.
It just looks better with these added rather than having a blank panel.
TouchFlo is so yesterday
Is there mabye possible to make a cab file? Not all of us are xperienst "hackers"
If so, thanks a bunch

I think it gets resized automatically because the car one I have shown is 489x365 on the device - way too large. Another one I did for the camera is 128x128.

since they are created as registry entries, you may extract them as reg files using resco registry

Just added a new Program panel, which launches iLaunch, with text and icon and everything and it works nice. As i customized cHome quite a bit up to now, what everything do i need to backup, to restore it when i flash a new ROM, to get exactly cHome back as it is now?

[Q]Help Please!!!. Little issue is becoming too annoying

I have an HTC HD Mini with Manila 2.5.20131825.3 I am not sure which program I did uninstall and the quicklaunch icon asociated to that program become light grey.
Now when I clic on that icon a message appears sayin that "" file cannot be open...
Can anyone tell me on which file or registry key does the manila save the quicklaunch links so I can erase this entry because using the gui I cannot either remove it or add a new one instead. It is becomeng me crazy as hell.
Thanks a lot!!!!
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\Home
Key 0 is the 1st quick launch, I had something strange where it would not let me apply a shortcut, I'd select the program, ok it, but it would not change the icon or run it when tapped, turned out the reg key for that quick launch had disappeared somehow, I may have un-installed an app, but I cannot remember now, ended up exporting an existing key, renaming it using notepad on my laptop, then importing it again, worked after that
