Internet fast on PDA, slow on computer - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi,
I have att 8525 and when I connect it to the computer and do internet sharing my max speed is about 260kbps. If I browse internet on PDA the speed is about 700 kbps. What could be the reason for slower internet on PC? I use both USB cable and Bluetooth PAN with the same results...

How do you measure the speed?
Try WiFi sharing - Bluetooth and/or cable can be limiting you.

BT connection speed!

Looking at sites on bluetooth devices it shows the connection speeds at 750KBs. Is that bits or bytes? and why does the xda2 not connect at speeds like that. I thought USB activesync was slow and then i found BT to be twice as slow if not 3 times!
Anyone know the data transfer speeds through USB - XDA2

Internet speed as a laptop Modem

been playing with the vario 2 for few days now, and im very impressed, had a mda pro previous to that. I have web n walk pro, on the phone i get upto 1.2MB internet speed which is what i expect dure to HSDPA, but when i connect the phone to laptop as amodem via usb or blueetoth i get 364KB (the 3G speed).
Why is there a difference in speed? maybe im doing something wrong.
any help would be much appreciated.
Ok, you need to edit the modem within networking in windows(on your pc). You can change the connect speed from a pull down box.
Don't forget that the Bluetooth connection itself is going to slow you down... and even if you have a Bluetooth 2.0 card, the TyTN does not support EDR...
As such, I'd be very surprised if you got any faster than you're already seeing...
I'm sure that as soon as somebody figures out how to make it work, a tethered USB connection will be faster than a Bluetooth one... but this is still not possible...
Try Tethered USB. It's much faster and allows for your full speed. Check the Wiki FAQ. There's instructions there.
Has someone done a usb dial-up connection or usb wireless-modem connection with TyTN? My TyTN reachs 1.5-1.6 Mbps but when a set a dial-up bluetooth connection it only reachs 300 Kbps (with online speed tests). And i cant plug it as wireless usb modem (nothing happens in any of my computers). Some idea?
Thanks
since the TyTN does not support EDR, it's speed is limited, so your getting the max out of BT DUN. Instructions for the USB DUN are included on your CD that came with your device and it has the proper drivers in there. The files (Instructions + Driver) can be also downloaded here:

repeating....
Has someone done a USB dial-up connection or USB wireless-modem connection with TyTN? (not with htc universal or other. I say with TyNT)
Thanks

Using your phone as a wireless (wifi) adapter for your PC?

Hey guys, i was wondering if windows mobile 6 could connect your phone through wifi, and then share that wifi connection with your PC? 3g is pretty slow in my area, and we dont get the broadband service installed in our new apartment for another week or so. However, i can connect my phone to a few wireless networks that are close by. It would be nice if i could share that wifi connection with my PC, so i wouldnt have to deal with the crappy 3g here. Essentially I want to use my phone as a wireless adapter, then sharing that connection to my PC through BT or USB. The internet share in WM6 only alows for you to select your GPRS internet connection to share. An update/fix/or 3rd party app that could do what i want would rock.Thnks.

Tether Mac w/ Leopard OS to WM6 (via USB)

I am in search method of tethering the Mac to my WM6 device (HTC Kaiser).
On my PC notebook, I connect USB via Internet Sharing. On 3G, I get up to 2,000 kbps downloads with little latency. After scouring the net, the best method I’ve found for the Mac is a third party application called USB Modem which, for now, can only connect using bluetooth DUN. With this, I can only get burst speeds of 500-800 kbps with significant latency.
Is there a better way? It's tough not being able to tap the mobile device's capability of providing good internet speed. Please excuse me if I"m simply missing the relevant postings.
Thanks!

WMwifiRouter works like a charm. I just plug in USB to trickle charge the Kaiser.

Share WiFi internet over bluetooth or USB?

Is it possible to share Internet connection which is acquired over WiFi to a computer using BT or USB connection. This way a phone could be used as a mean of wireless connection for computers which don't have Wlan card!
this should do it:

You can also take a look at WMWifiRouter

It supports USB->WiFi and WiFi->USB.
