Anyone else having problem with Agile Messenger? - Mogul, XV6800 General

I uninstall 77. Delete the folder. Then I did a hard reset.
Install 79 thru the .cab, not thru the .exe by activesync.
First time I could get on and everything work fine.
Exit. Try log back in again and only MSN work.
Shut it down. Get on again and only MSN work.
Did a hard reset and only MSN work.
I dont have any shell or anything running and Agile is the only thing running and dialing on the internet.
Anyone else having this problem on the Mogul?

IIRC agile doesnt connect directly to the services, it connects via a proxy through agile mobile's servers, so if those servers are having problems you wont be able to connect
have you contacted agile's support?

It does work only with 77 version for me for MSN, Yahoo, ICQ and AOL.
Others have said the 79 version work on their Mogul.
I could not get 78 and 79 version to work except for MSN.
Yes, I have open a ticket on Agile. He email be back, but since then I have give them alot of feedback on my problems and they have not reply.

Funambol Open Source Push Mail

Has anyone ever tried this out?
I am not sure if you need to install the server application on you workstation or on the actual exhange server. Would like to give it a go, as my company I work for is so slow in implementing any kind of mobile mail acess (we will have WM10 with 8mp camera pocket pcs before my work has mobile mail access).
you could try intellisync Wireless email http://www.intellisync.com/pages/Products/Express/
I have a similar problem with my company being a bit slow on the uptake...this works perectly...really pleased.
You install an application on your desktop and on the device (all very simple) The desktop app syncs your mail etc to a webserver, then the app on the universal connects to the webserver and sync it down onto the device. Very slick. Bear in mind that you have to leave your desktop logged in to your corporate network all the time, which isn't a problem for me as locking the pc doesn't affect the functionality.
I have seen that, but I don't want to use 6 different programs and places to sync. My dad has Intellisync Mobile Suite 6.2 on his Jam and works like a charm, but I can't get my hands on the original installation package.
I can access my work's e-mail via the web through webmail, but I don't know the settings like port numbers etc to get my Jam configured to connect. Is there anyway one can find out these settings without asking IT, as they are still testing it and won't give it to me at this stage.
Surely if you can connect to webmail (exchange), then my Jam should be also be able to connect. Imate Mail also uses webmail and it works on the JAM.

Not sure what you mean...there's one app on the pc and one on the ppc.

I was just being sarcastic.
I know on 2 apps, but you still have a "middleman" where you data needs to be sync from the pc, then from there to the ppc, back to the web server and again back to the pc. I want to go straight to the exhange server, which I should be able to do if I can get my work's webmail settings.
I see! Have you looked at xmail from o2...similar but your ppc connects directly to the agenct on the desktop...
it does
it works so far, but it is a pain to configure.
i hooked it up to my mail server.
with the admin tool you need to (under win or x) configure a user, device and principal and there you go.
what the manual does not tell you: you have to replace PipelineManager with PipelineManagerGeneric in ds-server/config/Funambol.xml to get it to work with your IMEI, or configure your device with IMEI syncml ..
It smashes my funny german umlauts, though. There is a patch (already included in Funambol) that should configure my internal storage to use utf-8, still its using internal iso-8859-15 (what ever that is for..)
I didn't get it to Unicode until now..
I have not tried to connect it to my mail server.. and i have not tried push email yet..
Stefan
I managed to get exhange activesync to work. But since last night I can't get internet access via GPRS and this morning I can't get VPN access. No nothing wants to work anymore.
Looks like I have to reload my ppc and start from scratch, I have checked all my settings and see nothing wrong.
So I reloaded my Jam this weekend, connected to the work's mail server via GPRS and got my stuff.
Came to work this morning, changed nothing on the pc's settings, plugged in my Jam via USB, pressed sync and it connect without giving me any funny error messages that I got on Friday.
It is weird that it works now with the same setttings and now juts because I reloaded my Jam, it works. :x

Is there a version of ICQ than runs viably on the Wizard?

Looking for a version of ICQ for the standard OS that does not require a meg download each time to run.
Anyone know a multimessenger that works, or alternately a version of ICQ itself?
agile messenger?
Thanks
I will give it a try.
I am hoping it will be more like the packaged MS messenger rather than the constantly needing to refresh yahoo and i-messenger versions.
Did you get the agile messenger to work with just your T-mobile GPRS?
I wont get a chance to try until the weekend as I cannot connect it to this computer (old server with no USB)
SO I am still open to other offers of messenger platforms or ICQ stand alones to try.

TyTn & Agile messenger

I have agile working fine on my wizard but it cannot connect on tytn. the internet connection works fine. I get an error from agile saying "cannot connect, proceed to contact list?"
If anyone has this working can I trouble for the installer you used &/or any settings that may need to be configured?
Thanx; Lew
It is working fine in my TyTN, I installed directly from CAB version 3b, download here:
http://updates.am-im.net/AgileMessengerWMPPC.zip
I am using MSN, Jabber (XMPP) and GoogleTalk at the same time.
Thanks for the reply. I failed to specify that it was AIM that was not working.
Interestingly enough I was installing the same version you gave me the link to. However this time it worked fine.
I have run into another issue though... How do I set the voice record button? On my wizard I set it in an older version and it just stayed that button when I installed the newer versions. Now how do I go about setting it?
Thanx again; Lew
P.S. I searched their forums for this, they don't have ANY support for PPC.
I'm using Agile with both Yahoo and AIM with no problems at all...
Can you use push to talk?
I'm sorry, i've never used the PTT button... may be others can help you.
I use imov messenger which is based on the opensource Jabber.
It works great and maintains connections with most of the main messengers.
It is also free.
Paul.
First try selecting Options then Preferences and finally navigating to the Media Tab. If there's not a button that says "Assign push-to-talk button" on it then I think this thread might help as you may have the same problem with versions I encountered. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=278714

T-mobile MDA messenger problem

I just got myself a second hand MDA on T-Mobile, and I'm on flext web'n'walk price plan. I have a few problems with it and I hope I can get some answers
I got preinstalled pocket MSN that works fine on GPRS. However, I use mostly Yahoo Messanger and ICQ and they would only work at home, where I have the BT Total Broadband (with the wireless hub). Outside the house they would not connect. I use 2 messengers to go online, one is Agile Messenger, and the other is IM+. Both work fine on WiFi as I said, but would not connect via GPRS.
Does anyone here use that phone and the messengers to help me out here? I had the K800i and it worked fine with the Agile Messenger, now I feel lost
PS: The Internet Explorer works fine on it, so it can connect via GPRS, its just none of the messengers that I've got.
Any advice would be apreciated. Thanks.
PS2: Any ideas for other messengers that support Yahoo and ICQ?
oz has instant mess
Dont use OZ, EVER. It dosnt use GPRS to send messages, it uses text messeges and its crazy slow. If you want your instant messengers to work make sure your GPRS connection is already alive and connected before signing in. The messengers wont start a internet connetion but will use the active ones.

Questions:
1. Which IM application uses GPRS/Edge not text messaging
2. Does Live messanger uses GPRS?
Appreciate answers

All in one Messenger app

Hi all,
I need a all in one messenger which can help me login to Skype, Gtalk, Yahoo etc..
I tried using Nimbuzz, but it tells cannot connect to Nimbuzz server. Try after some time. My GPRS is working fine, but still not able to connect
I tried using Fring the same problem there also.
is there any other app. Pls let me know.
Thanks
Ganesh
I had the same issue with nimbuzz. But now it works fine. I like it because it's the best looking messenger app that I tried. What you need to make sure is that you create your nimbuzz profile on their website and link your instant messenger accounts to that profile. By doing so, when logging into nimbuzz mobile you only need to pass one login. Also, I found that on my device, the app is unable to open the network 3g connection on it's own. So I activate data connection before starting nimbuzz so it can be able to connect. Hope this helps
I use http://www.palringo.com/en/gb/ not sure about skype but Yahoo etc works
