I have a strange problem with my Qtek S200.
When I turn it on without the SIM card, and leave it simply, or eventually do something in the menu for a short time it works fine.
Problems start when i try to do something more concrete - for example browse the web via WIFI or even start the camera. Firstly for a few minutes it is working normally, then starts working slow and after that the display goes white and freezes, or restarts. After the restart the device won't turn on, or will crash soon, eventually the display will go white again - on one of the starting screens. When I wait some time (about 15min) the device will start again normally and everything is fine, as long as I won't start doing something on it.
When the device is turned on with the SIM card, sometimes it gets the range, sometimes not, even if it will catch it, after some time it will loose it again, or the device will freeze
I tried to hard reset the device, with no results.
I will by very greateful for help
I think it may be related to the ROM you are using. I suggest trying a different ROM, or maybe just reflashing the ROM you currently have.

I tried to flash the ROM with the instructions on this forum, and started from HardSPL, but when I accept running the program JumpSPL on the device the screen goes white and ActiveSync looses connection - device crashes.
How I can deal with this?
The device should go into Bootloader (it will show a white screen because of the jump SPL) just continue with it, and when the HardSPL upgrader says it is complete, you should be able to flash a new ROM.

HELP NEEDED!
Yesterday I bought a Hermes (Vodafone 1605).
Everything was fine, I installed Opera and tried the wi-fi.
Then it locked and there was non way for turning it off. So I made a soft reset and I found out it hangs on the vodafone splash screen.
I tried a hard reset and nothing changed.
I can see some codes in the lower part of the screen as it tries to boot up but nothing happens.
I looked up some threads and tried to remove the battery for 20 mins.
It actually went over the vodafone splash screen but only to halt on the windows mobile one.
The thing that puzzles me is that I didn't mess at all with the ROMS!!!
It's exactly as it comes from the box.
Any advice and help is more than welcome....

I've been trying to get my Hermes working.
That's what I found:
Taking away the battery for some mins and hard resetting brings me to the windows mobile screen then it hangs
The same procedure but soft resetting instead of pressing space actually let the phone start but then it hangs on the screen: "Tap the screen to configure ...." etc. etc.
Still trying to figure out what's happening.
Anyone with some ideas please help me. I don't want to play with the ROMS till it's strictly NECESSARY. I can't understand why it's stopped working.
Now it works...
Repeated the procedure, soft resetting instead of pressing space.
It went smoothly and run all the Vodafone customization programs.
Now it's off and charging.
Don't know yet what was the problem. Hope it's not a problem of stability.
I'm starting blaming myself for leaving my old Tungsten.
Does anyone experienced something similar? May depend on some particular operation?
Curious, but Hermes sometimes needs to settle down. Suggest you try the following to avoid hangs/freezes as well:

I think it's the well known freeze problem...
My Hermes worked fine for a while. Then I synced it and installed Magic Button. Everything looked perfect. I left it for a while and when I came back it was off and it won't go back on. Soft resetting just causes a freeze on startup.
I guess it's some problem with activesync. I tried the fake server but I'm not sure I didi it properly. I'll try again once I wake my Hermes back up.
Hope to solve this, otherwise it's almost unusable.

I'm getting really worried.
After some hours of normal use I experienced the "won't wake up" problem.
The strange thing is that soft reset doesn't solve the problem. Neither does the hard reset.
When I tried to soft reset it went to the bootloader page.
I need to remove the battery for about 20 mins and try a hard reset.
Sometimes it works with space reboot, sometimes it need the soft reset restart.
Then it freeze after some time.
When it doesn't work it freeze on the vodafone splash screen after showing the version numbers at the bottom of the screen.
I'm quite puzzled.
It's a brand new V1605 with S/N HT645.
Maybe that's more than an issue on it.
Any chance to improve this with a ROM upgrade?
As your device is brand new with the its original ROM, I would take it back to the store you purchased it and ask for a replacement.
They should swap it for you right away.

I'd like but I bought it from ebay.
It's a brand new Vodafone UK VPA1605, but i don't think I'm eligible for any assitance (even paying) here in Italy, even if Vodafone Italy sells the same PDA.
Now I'm not even able to start it. It keeps freezing on the vodafone splash screen.
I tried several hard and soft reset (even removing the battery for 1/2 hour or so). What I cannot understand is why it's so unpredictable? It's electronics.
It should just work or doesn't work, till you change something (software or hardware).
I have a g4 8125 and tried to flash black diamond 2.0 using shelltool. I followed all the instructions, but I may have messed something up. I installed the enablerapi and certspcs files on my phone, but i realized later that i did this after turning off my radio. After flashing I made a hard reset, and now it just comes to the cingular splash screen and shows my ipl, spl, gsm and os (which it says is 6.0.0.0) and doesn't load anything. Anyone have any ideas? It won't connect to activesync either.

Hello there.
This is my first post, and I hopefully pray that I don´t get a "Please Do a search" kind of answer as I have been doing a hard search through the forum but haven´t found what I´m looking for. Probably I´m just using the wrong search terms but english is not my native language so I´m not sure how to look up for this issue.
First, I unlocked the sim of my device by sending it to a third party. Afther that, the phone came with a Wizard-Love OS installed, and finally I got excited and started to mess around with the Shelltool to get the device upgraded to WM6. (It´s a G4 by the way).
First I successfully upgraded to wm6 wee htc wizard v5.2.660, but then I found that the keyboard mapping was all wrong with the shown special characters (they weren´t where they were supposed to be at all), so i tried messing up with the registry trying to select a local language for spanish with no success at all....
Also I was having some issues trying to connect to internet via wi-fi even when I did get connected to the network, but did not test it hard enough.
Then I went farther trying to "shelltool" a Black Diamond 2.0 Touch rom, but then everything became a real mess... The Shelltool said that it was finish only like 4 to 5 minutes after starting so I disconected and Hard Reseted the unit. Don´t remember if I disabled the radio before flashing it, nor if I had the sd card installed on the device at the flashing momment, but definetly i had reinstalled the cert_spcs and EnableRapi cabs prior to this seccond attempt.
After the hard reset, it started but freezed on the first screen showing the ipl, spl, gsm and os (which it says is 6.0.0.0). Then I hard reset like two more times, with no luck. Then I entered on the bootloader mode, but after trying that for a while the phone stopped responding. It did not turn off, so I removed the battery. Then when I put the battery back the unit did not turn on at all. Even it did not show the charging red light when I connected it to the usb nor the wall ac adapter. I was devastated... I leaved the unit with the battery out all the night and the next day I reinstalled the battery to see that the device did turn on and did charge, but still it was locked on the splash window.
I tryed to reflash the unit using the bootloader under windows xp, after killing the activesync connection and using the wizard_Love_2.26.10.2_WEE_Novii_CF2 rom. The unit showed a progress bar so the pc and after 10-12 minutes it was done. I Hard reseted the unit but then it always started on the bootloader screen as if I was pressing the camera button.
Hard reseted, soft reseted, battery out and in, no luck. Then it went dead again. It did not turn on at all and no charging light. Once again i leaved the unit all day without battery and send it to the friend that had unlocked the sim for me. He just called me and told me that the unit was now up and running again with wizard_love rom. I´m really not sure how he did it. Probably i did something with the sd inserted when it was supposed to be out. I did flashed the wizard love on bootloader with the sd inserted but i´m not sure if that could have make the mess.
I would like to know if anyone have had this kind of lock up and how to deal with it (how much time to leave the battery out, etc). Also I will love to know how did my friend (he wont tell me as is it´s bussines and he charges for it) finally restarted my unit flashing wizard_love again, as I´m still too curious to not try to flash my unit again and probably be on the same mess once again.

That's a lovely 1st post. If every one is to be like that.. it would be just to nice to help others.
Anyway, this may not sound logical, but I get problems with Shelltools when I do not have the official ROM flashed before another flash. What I would suggest is that, you ought to have an official ROM (check Wiki to download your official ROM flashing EXE), which seems to get me out of trouble a few times.
Also, it maybe wise to check your battery before any flashing attempt, make sure it is 100% (60% will do mostly, but in case of an emergency, that 40% helps). It cases where a phone doesn't go charge/bootloader, it is battery problem. The overnight thingy that you've done, probably rest the battery long enough to boost it to a charge (e.g. how you get a blink when you switch off a torchlight for period of time on a low batt).
Good also among your information, tell us the IPL/SPL/Radio on the ROM you are using.
My current problem is with my MDA bought from eBay.
Short version of the problem: Brought back to life a completely lifeless MDA (by removing camera flashlight and vibrator unit), successfully flashed it but flashed it one too many times so it is stuck in bootloader mode. Now MDA cannot connect to USB without freezing to a white screen. After putting back the camera flashlight and vibrator unit, MDA is back to being lifeless. What do you think the problem is? Faulty mainboard or a MDA flashed one too many times. Can we declare this MDA being a paperweight? Many thanks for any help and suggestions!!
Long version of the problem:
It began as a non-booting, non-charging, lifeless MDA. I brought it back to life momentarily by taking out the camera flashlight and vibrator unit. I was able to successfully flash the unit and was able to boot the phone using Wizard Love's ROM. I reassembled the camera flashlight and vibrator unit and the MDA would not turn on. At this point I was relieved the problem was only this.. but it's not.
Even with the successful flashing, the unit would function fine (it was even able to charge and connect with activesync) until I tried to install a program, or watch streaming videos. The result would be a freeze and then the screen would fade to white. I would have to take out the battery and wait a few seconds and try again.
Unfortunately, being a flashing addict I have flashed it one too many times and not taking caution (as this unit will occasionally fail and the screen will turn white) the last time I attempted flashing, the unit froze after a certain percentage of flashing. After NOT carefully reading the many threads on how to revive a bricked phone, I tried to do an SD flash using a SD backup from my other working MDA. I thought it flashed successfully.. but no boot occurred. I was able to reflash using Wizard Love's ROM and then flash the T-mobile stock 2.26 ROM. At this point I did not learn my lesson and I attempted to flash Touch No Evil ROM. The result was a freeze during flashing process and screen fading to white.
At this point the phone will enter bootloader mode when powered on, when hard-reset is done, or when camera is held and USB plugged in (it does show USB at the bottom left corner and the PC recognizes it)
What it fails to do is stay alive. It will freeze and screen fades to white when the ROM Update utility tries to connect to it. And will freeze and fade to white upon USB reconnection right after, therefore I have to remove the battery for 10 seconds and try again. And this is the current status of my MDA.
this will be my 4th fone from t mobile, but unfortunatley is now out of waranty,,,everything was fine and working ok til last week, i used the tomtom on it and left it in the car for a few days, took it out and it wont work at all now..
it switches on and lads up, but as it loads the screen has little lines on the boot up screen , then it shows the windoes screen then i get the main screen,,
as soon as i select a program to use the screen frezes and fades away
and i cant do anything with it unless i remove the battery,,,
can anyone help????

this can be either a hardware or software problem.if its a hardware problem you cant do anything about it except getting it fixed.if its a software problem try flashing another ROM or try a hard reset
put new rom in and reset it,,,still the same...
could it be the procesor???
I had a strange issue recently with my build (below). I had a 'normal' data freeze and rebooted, but when I did, apparently a message was waiting and some appointment on my calendar was due. This seemed to really slow down WM and HaRET ran very slowly before booting Android. However, after Android booted, the touchscreen was locked and wouldn't slide out of the way. In fact, the screen darkened and shut off just as if I wasn't touching the screen at all. I did receive a phone call, which worked, but touchscreen was still unresponsive.
So I tried rebooting again. This seemed to lock up JMZ Dual Boot and not allow me to boot up Android. Moreover, it locked my touchscreen in WM! I have pocketshield installed, and after cover screen showed up, I couldn't move it away. I tried rebooting, taking the battery out for 5 minutes, etc. and no luck.
Ultimately, I resolved this by a HARD RESET of the phone. Lost my windows setup which will take some time to repair, but since I use Android most of the time, maybe it doesn't matter?
Anyway, posted this in case others are having this problem, maybe there's a theme.
editted: ok, touchscreen stopped responding again, in WM and Android, while the unit was just sitting on my desk. I'm now thinking hardware problem...
yes i have the same problem since a ~week. NO TOUCHSCREEN... i have flashed maybe 100 different roms, but no luck... even when i install the original vodafone rom with radio and downgrade to spl 1.48 it doesnt work... this must be an android issue i think.
yesterday i was in the vodafone shop and they give me an NEW HD2 ))))).
now im waiting for an solution about that problem and hope someone will fix it. untill that i will stay on WM6.x. i dont think, i will get another new HD2^^

ps: when i started the hd2 there was an picture of an WORLD MAP for ~one second. maybe this helps. i think there is something in the front of the orange screen. something with "yes" or "no" option. but i cant see it.
