ok so anybody got any ideas? baisicaly when I do a speed test on my data connection it shoots to 700 in 2 seconds and then goes 709.. 711.. 719.. 722
(or some similar pattern where it blazes fast and then goes real slow...)
I end up with a score in the 200 kbs zone!?
I have th new rom and radio pre shipped and at some rare times I will get in the 900or 800s.
and yes I Always have evdo when I test im not switching down or anything we ar talking "fullish" bars?
thanx for any help...

How do you all get your Wing's to hit 270 ect? I can't go past 221/228 without having crashing problems. If I go for 240 or higher its White scree/Black screen or squiggles. Do i just have a weak phone or something?
huh. i use 286, its crazy stable enough.
Are you still stock rom? its possible that there are stability problems.
Install touchit 2.0 for wings. Awesomelicious.
Then try again.
It's the same rule that applies to any and all processors, every one of them is different. Some just don't overclock as well. Some overclock to crazy numbers.
Mine will go to 312 with no problem but there seems to be an optimal number for each one. It's a question of trying dif. settings. 260 seems to be about right for mine.
I am running touchit 2.0, and am using battery status for an overclocker. i havent tried over 240 but i know at 240 it just goes haywire. anyone else having mem hog issues with touchit 2.0? i start out with 24-25megs on a fresh boot but within a couple hours 0 apps running i'm down to like 10, before even hitting 24hrs i get down to 2.5megs of free memory and i dont have anything running. anyone else having this problem? or do i have a ghetto ass wing from t-mobile?
i got crash on 280+, but undred that is OK -- (normal herald, no wing)

I have the same problem. But I guess this is the wrong thread :S
At the risk of sounding really dumb, what does "overclocking" do for my device?
Thanks.
it makes your phone process things faster at the risk of overheating your processor mine is at 286 no problems but if your going to overclock you might as well pagepool it and then it runs pretty good
I use batterystatus on dynamic between 156 and 273.
I've noticed that anything under 156 causes that "buzzing" noise that the wing makes ...
Mine is at a constant 299. 312 Freezes it.
I dont know if i am explaining this right, but it seems that whenever battery status is running, the pixels seem to get very blurry. For example, the signal bars start shivering, the bars become blurry, and random blurry lines show up in random parts of the screen. has this happened to anyone else, and if so have you fixed it?
Thanks in advance,
Anish88
If by that you mean that the screen starts flickering like a very old CRT monitor, then it does happen when the CPU in underclocked. In my wizard, the view becomes unstable below 100MHz, but it might vary from device to device.
First thing you might want to do is to go to batteryStatus options and disable the CPU scaler (dynamic CPU overclocking) and set the CPU speed to stock 195MHz. If after that the screen becomes stable again, it means that it was a problem with underclocking. In that case you'd need to find a minimal speed on which your screen looks fine - just test all the speeds below 195MHz and set the minimal speed not causing screen problems as minimal speed for the CPU scaller (it's in BS options/CPUScaler)
i believe it happens when ever this an overclocked speed. But it also happens occasioinaly at 195 mhz. is there any fix for this?
any ideas?
nobody else has had this problem????
Hey guys,
A few weeks back I rom'd my HTC hero with VillainRom 12 and it was working great for awhile. Now however it crashes all the time, or just freezes up and I have to remove the battery.
I have the phone over clocked to about 650mHz. The battery temps seem fine.
Has anyone else experienced this problem before? Any way I can do a debug on my phone to find out what's crashing?
It's really starting to annoy me considering that I use my phone for my business and it's not good when a customer calls and my phone dies and reboots when I go to answer a call.
try overclocking to a lower extent
it might be because your phone cannot handle ur clock speed
(my MAX clock speed is 672... it simply crashes with 691 or higher)
You were absolutely right. It was clocked too high.
I turned it down and now it works great.
Thanks for the tip.
652 seems to be my max.
710 is my max, I can't go below 192 either or the phone starts to have a fit, I wanted to use a lower clock speed in "screen off" mode, but I'll have to stick with 192
Ive been using THIS to try to boost 3g speeds, but speedtest is showing that i'm actually getting a slower speed and more ping.
Before:
Down - .90mbps
Up - .7 mbps
After:
Down - .33mbps
Up - .13mbps
Airplane mode on/....... airplane mode off.....
fast again.
just do it.
.
with the stock settings or with the default settings?
My speed boost was minimal. In fact, sometimes, my wife's Evo is faster than mine. However, I discovered that Youtube and Slacker Radio will NOT work without the speed hack.
i cleared all 4 boxes, rebooted, airplaned, all that stuff and i still get piss poor results.
speedtest, imo is flaky as hell as an app. earlier it thought i was in germany, now it thinks im in texas and lists texas cities. ive tried numerous servers and i can never break past 700kbps up/down.
i live near a major sprint tower and i parked next to it, full bars, and THEN i was able to get 1mbps down/900kbps up.
the fcc app is workable, but it force closes too much.
still not satisfied with my speed now compared to when i first got the phone.
i got the latest pri/prl/radio, everythings updated.
on average i still get about 200-500kbps down. :/

This is the trick I use...
Yeah, I'm not showing any better results when changing the settings, but if I go to airplane mode and back Im pushing 1.2 megs. Thanks for your post!
Hello,
I'm using HD2 NAND ROM with Gomiui-v1.10.28 from the last year from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1258175 , but then the developer stopped updating it, because he had no time. Everything works very good on it, except the GPS accuracy. I'm using it for running and there are some problems.
1. Slow update of the current speed. Sometime it takes 4-10 seconds for the speed to update
2. Inaccurate speed - Sometimes the speed is 15 km/h, after 1 sec its 20 km/h, after that its 17 km/h and so on...
Sometimes I want to measure my maximum speed, but when i look at the display when i hit my maximum speed and stop to 0 km/h, its showing 15 km/h, after that 20... 22 and then slowing down. I was measuring my max speed with 3 different programs, when the HD2 was with Windows 6.5 and they all showed around 26 km/h max and it was updating on every second. Since then I'm training and i know i'm faster than 26 km/h now, so there is no way my speed is 22.
Is this a know problem and is there a fix for it, or i should change the ROM

Hmm, i would recommend a more current ROM, maybe ICS HWA or CM7. Once i get a fix, it updates pretty quickly, about a second, surprisingly it is almost faster than my Garmin Nuvi. If you dont want to switch ROMs i would recommend flashing a new kernel for it, update the drivers and such.
