Error 101: Connection Error - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 ROM Development

Hey guys
I wonder if one of you might be able to assist with the following.....
Whenever I try to upgrade my BA (ROM, Radio.....etc) I keep getting - Error 101: Connection Error and can't get any further!!!
Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix / work around??
Thanks for the help.

What ROM do you want to upgrade?
Mostly you need to enter to bootloader mode. Howto?

Yeah worked it all out in the end. Thanks
Got Xplode's WM6.1 with radio 1.5.....so far so good!!

Have I Screwed Up This Time? Tell me it ain't sooo

Ever since I flashed my rom with the 4.00.10 I have not been able to get my old image back on it nor flash a different rom image. Have I totally messed this thing up? This is the error that I get...
error getting connectiontype
Even though it connects with active sync just fine, it says it can't get connection type. How can I overcome this? I booted up to the bootloader diagnosis and tested the USB connection and it passed. I am a novice and should not have been messing with this and now I want my original rom back!
Please help me. What can I do to fix this problem on my XDA?
Desperate.

Looks like you have the same Problem as i have. Check if your GSM-Module is still doing: You have to get into the Bootloader and check if it says "GSM OK" (then you are a lucky owner) or if it says "GSM Error" (then you´ve got the same problem as I´ve got). If it is the second case: Try this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=1182&highlight=solved+gsm+error
Or this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4123&highlight=screen+1
But i need to say that these tips haven´t helped me out of this Prob. I hope it will help you!
So long...
no error any where GSM OK
NO HANGS every thing is fine.
Where can i down load ATT .20 RSU
I downloaded the rsu for ATT from yorch.net and now its getting signals.

Help please - MDA Compact not booting up

Hello everyone! I really, really hope you can help me!
I have a T-Mobile MDA Compact. I was upgrading the ROM version tonight to the latest version (blackberry version) My MDA would appear to have crashed mid-way through the upgrade. The upgrade software told me to reset the device and try the upgrade again. So I reset the device.. all I get on the screen is "USB V1" and when I select the new rom file I get an error which says "Error 120: Country ID Error N-N-38-38-38" The ROM image that you are trying to use is not designed to work on your device. Please check the vender Website and download the correct ROM update.
This is the correct ROM update. I'm using a T-Mobile branded handset the update is definitely a T-Mobile update. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? is there another update or even a completely new ROM version I can use to get my phone working again? It's the only phone I've got and I urgently need it for work
Thanks, Tom :?
OK so now it loads up and gets as far as 'loading config txt' and then it just sits there. Again I try the rom update but I'm told ROM is wrong for my device.
Hi Tom,
Use maupgradenoid.exe or a simular named program from the ftp over here. Maybe you have to run it twice to bypass your error. Use the program instead of the, probably named maupgrade, .exe which you get when you unzip your shipped rom. No need to zip it again, just unzip into an empty folder put the maupgradenoid.exe in the same folder. Put your device in bootloader (camera & power & soft-reset until it reads serial v1) connect it to usb, now it reads usb v1 & run this noid.exe.
Good luck, M
Ps. sometimes you need to add or change a line in config.txt, you can find that in one of the latest posts by parklife in
the thread about the official TMO 1.13 rom

Incase you upgraded to a new T-Mobile ROM, i think you can take it to the T-Mobile store for fixing.

8125 "Data Crashes." error after unlocking attempt

This is my first posting so please humor me. During this step "3 - Execute the EnableRapi.cab in your phone. Wait for it to finish", my Cingular 8125 crashed. If I turn it on with a sim card, I will get this error: "Data Crahes" "Please contact your service center." This is a white screen that cannot be closed.
1- Did this happen because I forgot to remove my sim card while unlocking?
2- How do I fix it (any link would be helpful)?
I have tried hard resetting to no avail. It boots fine without a sim card.
Thanks in advance for helping me.
Please Help
Have I posted this topic in the wrong forum?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi superman. Problem has occured because it crashed, not the sim. (although many do remove it when they do it) Try attaching the device via activesync and running lokwiz.bat from pc desktop and see if you can superunlock it. If not take sim out and try running enablerapi.cab again and then lokwiz.bat. Good luck

What ROM is now installed on it?
You could reflash to the shipping ROM which is on the ftp, then run through the unlocking process again.
Or, just grab the 2.17 upgrader I created and flash directly to it. Most folks report that it flashes fine without first CID unlocking.
BTW, for issues such as this, you'd be better off posting in the Wizard Upgrading forum. You'd also find this issue has been encountered and resolved several times.
Summiter,
I will try your solution. I am glad I found this site. Thanks again to everyone.

Hmn. I would also like some help with this too, as I recently came into a wing that had been 'upgraded' to one of the ROMs from wingster before I received it. I was able to hard reset it thru the settings but when I go to install the 'official' T-Mobile ROM over the hard reset it does the same thing: (ERROR [260] : Connection) and I have tried to do this again after a PC reboot, no luck.
Please and Thanks.
After digging around a bit more, I hope this helps:
