Prophet upgraded with Wizard ROM by mistake

Just tried to upgrade my S200 with a 9100 ROM ver 2.8.7.1 WWE (by mistake of course) and I can't turn it on anymore. Somehow it didn't even warn about wrong ROM.
Tried to hardreset it but no luck. When I keep the camera button it goes to RGB only when connected to the charger.
When connected to PC, the red and blue leds keep flashing and my PC gives Error 260 when I try to revert back to the S200 RUU.
Does anyone know how to bring it back to life? Is there a way to boot it from SD card?

Don't panic!
I did the same thing some time ago!
What you need to do is make sure that the battery is fully charged. (The flashing of the screen can be a result of the flat battery.) Unfortunately, it is not possible to charge the battery when the wrong ROM is installed, as the ROM obviously tells the Prophet how to charge.
Let's assume you have an okay battery.
1) Start the Prophet in Boot mode. This is done by pressing and holding the Camera button and then pressing the soft-reset button. Keep holding for about 7 seconds, and the coloured bands should appear.
2) Connect to PC using the UDB cable.
3) Run the correct ROM upgrade. You do not need to be paired with ActiveSync, as the update programs are intelligent.
4) If the update does not work (and it fails at 95%), then try again. If it still fails, try again and do a soft-reset mid-way through. This will kill the ROM upgrade and you should then be able to do it fine after that.
The really important thing is that the battery is charged before you do this. Unless anyone makes a USB cable that can charge AND connect to PC, then a fully charged battery is a must.

one more step need to be performed which by not ticking off the ALLOW USB CONNECTIONS in the connection settings of the file of the activesync. After configuring it, it would absolutely carry out thy upgrading of ROM for thy Prophet which is in Bootloader mode. Good Luck!

I am a bit confused, does that mean that ALLOW USB CONNECTIONS has to be chacked or unchecked?
I did the same exact mistake. Now, my baterry is fully chaged (which I can check on another phone) but when I put it in S200 it shows that the battery has 0%. Conseqeuntly, when i unplug the power cord the phone dies. I have no way of running the new ROM on it. I tried running a bootable SD but it only installed part of the software. i read on this forum that such a thing happens and that one would need to run a full version ROM from a computer. So, how do I do it??? I am almost giving up all hope of ever making this phone work
Does anyone have a file to boot from SD and is it possible to run a full ROM from SD. Please help!

MDA dead

Hi,
after the download new ROM my MDA was fired!!
First I download a customized ITA rom and after, because the MDA work very slow, I downloaded the latest T-mobile ROM.
Now the MDA do not power up and do not charge the battery.....sems dead.
Can I recover it?

just an idea but I would start by trying to charge it with the wall plug that came with it, not a computer usb cable - if the battery is all the way dead it will not charge from the computer. If the light comes on, let it charge for a while and then try it out. If not I would try to hard reset while it is plugged in. If none of this works, enter bootloader mode and then connect it to the computer, and hopefully it will go into bootloader mode and you can flash a new rom.. If you need more details on how to do any of this, let me know, and please let me know if it works!

I have recharge the battery and dowloaded the original Tmob rom.
Now is strange..
Same time power up...and same time no.
The ipl is 1.06 and spl is 1.03!!

My Qtek 9100 is dead also. I have the 2.24 ROM and it has been running great. I cant power it on and the light doesnt turn on when its plugged in. The battery is definitely not dead. Suggestions? TIA

I have flash the rom 1.6 Tmob (IPL 1.06 SPL 1.03) but the MDA restart in loop mode!!

My phone powered up today. It's been sitting on my night stand for a week and it turned on today! Everyday I have tried to turn it on but I haven't had any luck until today...weird!

Can any one please help me in geting my phone to today's screen.

Ya I tried both hard as well as soft reset but same screen is stuck again and agian.Can any one please help me in this regard as I am very new to PDA family.

Ok, first things first:
Since you are new to this, are you sure you preformed a hard reset?
It is done by holding power + camera + comm manager buttons (one on the right, two on the left) and pressing with stylus in the reset hole at the same time.
A message should appear asking you to press 'send' (green phone button) to confirm reset.
If this does not help, you may have a serious problem.
Please answer the following:
Is the device fully charged?
Phone will fail to boot if the battery is too low.
Did you install any software right before this happened?
This should have been resolved by hard reset, but just in case I am asking.
Did you change the ROM, attempted CID / SIM unlock?
This could require more serious measures than I can advise on.

I did exactly the same thing which you mentioned.But even then it is stuck at the same screen.
Ya u r right I unlocked my mobile using a software from eBay.The unlock was successfull and I tried to insert T-Mobile sim, it also captured the signal and I was able to make and recieve calls then after that I wantedly switched off the phone and then tried to start it, there got the problem.

Can any one help me in this regard please.

I've got the same problem after attempting smart1_wm6_pp8mb.exe
I'm having the same problem with my G4 QTEK S200:
Attempted to upgrade to WM6 Rom using smart1_wm6_pp8mb.exe
After reboot the phone got stuck at the QTEK Screen
Tried Hard Reset (Camera+Power+Comm+Reset) followed the steps with the same results (bricked)
I also tried re-flashing the rom back to the factory one using RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship and ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.exe in Windows Vista with WMDC (Windows Mobile Device Center v. 6.0.6873) and the phone in boot loader mode (tri color screen) with working USB cable, with windows firewall disabled and symantec AV disabled as well, RUU keeps saying error 260 "the update utilitiy cannot connect to your pda phone..." .
Do you think I should try this process using XP instead? No matter what i try i keep getting the error 260
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Got it fixed!
it was definately a Vista issue. once i tried it in XP with ActiveSync it worked like a charm and i got my phone back up and running. also used spb backup and restored all my settings.

i got the same problem with new rom wm6, and the 260 eror, my problem is that i have xp and the activesync does`t connect ...
... means i cant redo the original rom ????

I raised the same issue 7 months back after that my phone got recovered automatically and there were no issues till last month. Last month onwards it is again got the same problem and now it is permenantly stuck at that screen what ever you do.

A rom reinstall on xp solved my problems on that one. retry a couple of times! It may not work the first time! hard reset as well...
Try an official wm5 rom just in case

RECOVERING FROM ERROR IN STEP 8 WM5->WM6
1. Don't panic
2. Don't panic
3. Unplug the phone
4. Reset with stylus,and keep the Camera Button pressed.
5. A 3 color screen will appear(Bootloader Screen)
6. Connect your device with your PC,and run the NVID(no vendor) WM5 rom.
7. The device will be resetted after RUU(rom update utility)finishes
8. Repeat the WM6 upgrade,from STEP 5..

To mention my phone is from orange-UK. I got the orange rom from our FTP site and did the flashing/update what ever you say.But still it is getting stuck at the same IPL/SPL screen. Iam very much worried that I will not get a proper solution for my problem.It will be very grate full if some one resolve my problem.

just seems strange...how did you fix it last time? did it just start working again? A random guess would be that the camera button got liquid spilled on it or is stuck in.
If the camera button is pressed in the phone will go to 3 colour screen every time it is turned on.
It won't do any harm if you try to press/move that button to see if u can "unstick" it, not likely I think but u never know...

I've tried to upgrade my Xda III as explained here:

Everything seemed to be fine, but Step 3 hung at 50%.
I waited 2 hours... nothing... 50%.
So I removed my Xda III from the cradle...
Upgrade gave me an error message "Device removed, please repeat all...".
But now the Xda III seems to be dead. Nothing works.
I could nee some help...

it happens with me two times at 94 and 86%.
i did this to recover ba again.
1) change the cradle port (any other usb port accept front)
2) after fails on vista than i switched to xp.

But I cannot turn on my Xda.
Nothing happens when I push any button.

After removing SD, Xda III turns on.
This time flashing was successfull.
After Hard Reset, first time, Developer Menu doesn't appear.
Upgrading Radio fixed this, too.
Just for information.

It's easy.
Just download the last radio from ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/BlueAngel/Radio_Roms/
It used "BA Radio 115 THIS WORKS.rar".
Then put you BlueAngel in bootloader mode (Press and hold the "Power" & "Record" buttons, and then press the reset button until 'Serial' is showing on the screen).
Connect it to your PC and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
That's it.

my Qtek 9000 just went dead and wont turn on!!

I upgraded my uni with ranju rom 2months ago and worked perfect.Yesterday after a call the uni froze when i restarted, the uni black out. have tried both hard and soft reset. Nothing happens in soft reset, but hard gives U " Press 0 to restore to factory default and X to exit". but if i press 0, the uni goes off again.,

Battery? Can you enter a bootloader and re-flash the ROM?

I can't get pass "Press 0 to restore to factory default -Press X to exit" screen

i also have same problem with you. and i have connect my device to PC usb cable, then PC detect my universal but cant recognize it as pocket pc.

my cousin gave me his qtek 9000 saying that it was dead. being a dumbass, me decided to try and give it back life. as mentioned before, me a dumbass. After seaching the web for hours, i would normally be now saying, i give up. but no.
so , please. help.
the only thing i can tell u is that when i plug it in the pc, a red light starts bleeping. Won't turn on, soft and hard reset do not seem to make any effect, nor the power+light button.
again, please, help.

Had exactly the same...my qtek 9000 was just lying in the closet for a long time and would not boot anymore...
When I used it last time al was fine. I figured a dead battery so bought a new one...
It would give me the red LED while charging, would not be recognised on the computer etc.
Did a hard reset and then got it into the bootloader...
Had to run my laptop on XP as under Win7 it would fail to flash or do anything, but under XP it flashed properly.
After flash installed my back-up and all seems to be running fine now!
May be it helps anybody...
