MDA Pro (HTC Universal) is here...

Hi all
Since yesterday I own an MDA Pro, bought by my friend in Germany (Thanks!!)
Please be aware: This device is in german AND it has a SIM-LOCK!!
For the rest the device really rocks... some few things are not perfect but the device itself is

Firstly, could you explain a little more about the things that you found to be a problem on the device? What did you think was not perfect?
Secondly, could you tell us something about the Bluetooth Stack of the device? Is there a Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP)? Can you voice dial using a BT headset? There is a small button the MDA Pro called "voice control". Is it only for voice recroding or are there any other voice related functions you can use it for?
Thirdly, how comfortable is it to use as a regular phone in comparison to the T-Mobile MDA III. Is there a gross difference or a minimal difference?
Lastly, When can we expect to see a "first impression" mini-review from you. Also, if you could post some pictures of your device including the packaging, we would be very grateful.

Video Resolution
Hi Dumdidum,
I'm very interesting to know the video resolution that Universal can take. And can it use like a normal USB drive through its USB port? And, is the text are too small to read on Internet Explorer with 640x480 resolution?

Can i use the mini usb as a USB host ??...so i can attach a hard drive directelly with MDA Pro ??

i know a friend who got mda pro...and he says that it didn't work...it's not a usb host it is a client only

2 questions:
Can you listen music or use voice dialing with bluetooth headset?
Can you dump the ROM with this tool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=22861 or this test program - http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=22861&start=75#149665 and share it with us?

Hi mamaich,
I tried both tools on my MDA Pro.
grab_it : Claims that it cannot create the file.
Testdump : starts, but after a while locks up the device. Process bar is about the half...it created a dump file with about 57,8 MB...

I think that is because your device is in german and maybe storage card is named something else (in german)?

Yep..should have found out that by myself
Anyway..good news for those who bought their device from T-Mobile in germany: T-Mobile will give out the unlock code for free to all people who bought it without a contract (749€). I just phoned the simlock-hotline and the woman said that she will send me my unlock code via email soon (next 2-3 days).
Can't wait..still debugging...

I think we should spam the artemis forum to see if one of them could extract the htc media hub from theirs roms because it is present in lots of roms (pdamobiz,rom PV,.....)....................

I think people don't give a f*** about htc media hub. It is too bad. I asked LVSW for it and never had an answer. I don't know what to do. I have already post many request on the artemis forum and never had an answer. I think there is just nobody able to extract htc media hub from the artemis roms.

I getting impatient because we have been asking for htc media hub for at least 3 months (ex :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295030&highlight=htc+media+hub) and I know that in general when you ask for something in this forum, and especially for a file you get it very quickly.

PLease tell me from what rom can be extracted ???
What rom have this in it and i can extract it for you...
Also give one name of the file like the name of the shourtcat...

Hello this app i think doesn't work on trinity....
I have the file's but i succesfull runing one time and the only work's is to show my picture's..
I upload one cab included the audioboost and the mediahub but
It doesn't work anything
Also i have signed all the file's but steal nothing...

CHANGE -> HTC Shift SnapVUE Today

after installing realvga i'm looking for a way to change HTC Shift SnapVUE Today to make it better readable.
i found this http://oniku.blog.ocn.ne.jp/denwa/2008/06/htc_shift_snapv_b9eb.html, seems that this guy was able to change the today screen... but i do not understand it...
anybody able to translate?
SnapVUE は Today が表示されることが想定されていないので、WM6 として使用する場合、左右のソフトキーが何も設定されていません。最初気がつきませんでしたが、Today がなんか違うなぁと思っていて気がつきました。ソフトキーの設定は簡単で、
左:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112\
右:HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113\
それぞれ、Open (プログラム)、Default (表示名)　を設定すれば、OKです。112、113 はダミー(Default にはスペースが入って何も表示されないようなっていた)の値が入っていて、それぞれ好きなものを設定すれば、ソフトキーが使用可能になります。

so it wil normaly work and look for my HTC Diamond 2.
Unfortunately the program is not offered for this type of phone.

Unfortunately this also does not work.
i tried all of them, the most become very small but with the one of the TouchPro2 the app becomes to big and therefore i cannot use the buttons of the app which are just outside the screen.

New user of HTC Shift, need help

good, although it seems a lie I just bought a htc shift impolute, I am a geek and I like the device, the problem I have is that I format windows vista business and now I have no trace of snapvue or windows mobile and my wifi is very short range. I am trying to repair but all the links are down, could someone give me a hand? thank you very much pog early
