Since yesterday I own an MDA Pro, bought by my friend in Germany (Thanks!!)
Please be aware: This device is in german AND it has a SIM-LOCK!!
For the rest the device really rocks... some few things are not perfect but the device itself is

Firstly, could you explain a little more about the things that you found to be a problem on the device? What did you think was not perfect?
Secondly, could you tell us something about the Bluetooth Stack of the device? Is there a Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP)? Can you voice dial using a BT headset? There is a small button the MDA Pro called "voice control". Is it only for voice recroding or are there any other voice related functions you can use it for?
Thirdly, how comfortable is it to use as a regular phone in comparison to the T-Mobile MDA III. Is there a gross difference or a minimal difference?
Lastly, When can we expect to see a "first impression" mini-review from you. Also, if you could post some pictures of your device including the packaging, we would be very grateful.

I'm very interesting to know the video resolution that Universal can take. And can it use like a normal USB drive through its USB port? And, is the text are too small to read on Internet Explorer with 640x480 resolution?

Can you listen music or use voice dialing with bluetooth headset?

Hi mamaich,
I tried both tools on my MDA Pro.
grab_it : Claims that it cannot create the file.
Testdump : starts, but after a while locks up the device. Process bar is about the half...it created a dump file with about 57,8 MB...

I think that is because your device is in german and maybe storage card is named something else (in german)?

Yep..should have found out that by myself
Anyway..good news for those who bought their device from T-Mobile in germany: T-Mobile will give out the unlock code for free to all people who bought it without a contract (749€). I just phoned the simlock-hotline and the woman said that she will send me my unlock code via email soon (next 2-3 days).
Can't wait..still debugging...

it should be possible, because there are some app that can display your PPC-screen images (via activSync) on your desktop-PC.

Nice idea! :idea: Why buy more junk, when it goes with software. It is not hard. Use the camera API (http://blog.opennetcf.org/ncowburn/PermaLink,guid,5f0ebbac-8199-4ad1-aaa5-5e84af695359.aspx) and write an app or ask a developer to do it. This API should work on XDA II. But I cannot help you, because I don't have an XDA II unfortunately.

I suggest you use only the necessary registry tweaks, not the Wizard specific cab in that thread (which also tries to enable the Uni's non-existant keyboard indicator)

Just to say that I added a new post to my original one later that day just in case people start rushing off with duff info:
Well I could see my g only network before and no matter what settings (54g-Auto, 54gLRS, 54g only) I tried I couldn't connect but now I can connect and surf brilliantly using either 54g-auto or 54glrs but after changing my router to g only it will not connect so it has definitely changed something but maybe I was hasty to say is now 54g - my bad

Soince i used this cab on the universal icannot connect anymore to my wifi router. I see the network but cannot manage to log to it.
Could someone give me the original registry values of the qtek in the com in order to restore them to their normal settings in te registry.
I made a mistake and used the cab for the wizard so more registry tuning has been done without my knowledge.
But beware of trying the cab on your unversal and sequel as the effects are a bit surprising: you can see your network but cannot log in.

I think it does, if the device and the desktop support it. It just enables the USB port of the device to be used without using AS. Since the current devices do not support USB 2.0, we cannot know for sure.
Hi Guys, I serached but can't find a solution to this. My new Style-i shows the numbers of the caller not the name. I tried the Jetware extension but it does absolutely nothing to help.... supposedly it causes the bluetooth stack to send the name instead of the number but it didn't work!
Please help if someone has managed this..

I tried the instruction on the thread above.
It works with my i-style.
i didnt have the same luck. installed the trial of jetware 1.30, deleted my paired device, reset, repaired, tick next to caller id in advanced settings of jetware but still number only..... can anyone provide more detailed instructions of what im missing please.
also tried using that nokia setting file, and without checking the caller id ....
it works i have got the name display.

The trick worked for me too, even without reseting the Athena or reparing the BT device.
The LG is a wonderful device desipte the sound quality, a bit "fuzzy"...

Could someone please verify the exact steps that they did to make it work.
I know people have got it working, and am pleased for them, but for those of us that haven't can you spare some moments and give the steps?
I've followed the other steps to the letter and nothing, and if you can do it without resetting/re-pairing.... please share how :-D

I'd be surprised if there were as all versions I've seen and read about have the same core functions, the only difference I have seen is the colours it is available in.
Can no-one who has got it working list what they did? Whether they used the nokia file? Re-paired? And in bullet form for me to follow.. :-/... please?

I am thinking about buying this LG Style-I but I have a problem.
For now, I can only buy it in USA where the power is 110-120Volts.
Here, in Europe, we have 220Volts, so if I connect the charger here it will burn.
Can I find the similar charger here in Europe? Which model?
Does anyone from Europe uses this LG?

Is there a way to connect my 8525 to an external monitor? My bluetooth keyboard and mouse work great -- now if I could connect an external monitor, this can become one hell of a tool!
This sounds cool, not sure what I'd use it for at this moment but still a good idea.
Does anyone know if there is a cable that can do this for the 8525?

Well, you havn't tried SOTI POCKET CONTROLLER yet. That one is commercial but has even lots of other stuff integrated, such as screen capture, screen recording and a DOS prompt box ...

There used to be a manufacturer making SD cards with TV-out for making presentations from a ppc. Not seen one for a while! If I remember correctly you used to be able to get them from expansys...
