WiFi Disconnects - P3600 General

Hi;
I think I know the answer but I`ll ask anyway.
When I`m connected to my Wifi network if I`m not atcually using the device it disconnects and I have to re-establish the connection.
Is this an auto power saving function, Wireless LAN Settings has a Power Mode Tab that I have adjusted to midway, there is also a tick in the "Auto Turn Off WLAN if not connected, Iv`e set it to 5 minutes, I suppose this is why its disconnecting.
If I remove the tick will I only disconnect if I go into COMM MANAGER and de-select WiFi?

GPRS

When I make a GPRS connection it never disconnects, if I browse a web page and then close IE and all other running apps the GPRS connection stays alive. I have to either hold the red button to disconnect to soft reset, Is there any way to get to to auto disconnect after a set time or is it supposed to do this and mine is just faulty.
It also happens with MMS, I send an MMS and it sends fine, but the GPRS connection stays on. You do not see the connection listed with'in the connections list, but you do have the arrows at the top to tell you your on a GRPS connection. If I make another GPRS call to the ISP then it hangs up the MMS connection and makes the connection to the ISP etc...
There is no option with'in the connection bubble to disconnect yet I have this option on my XDA1 which was updated to PPC2003. I can manually disconnect sessions using a disconnect option. But not on my new O2 XDAII running the latest ROM from O2.
To disconet manuley just tap and hold the o2 ikon then untick your conection. as to the timeout it is in there somewhere but i carnt rember off hand
Have you tried GB-Soft Tweak? It has settings to disconnect GPRS after a specified amount of inactive time.
My problem is somewhat different: When I use GPRS settings WITHOUT a proxy assigned, there is the bubble of GPRS connecting (with cancel) and when connected (in conjunction with GB Soft Tweak), there is a disconnect button.
But when I assign a proxy setting to the GPRS, these buttons disappears. In fact EVEN if it is connected to GPRS, when I tap on the radio icon, it stays in the state displaying as not connected (meaning there's STILL an option to connect to GPRS even if i'm already connected)
the only way to disconnect is the press and hold red button OR to use the disconnect button of my GPRS monitor (SPB)
I dunno if this is connected to GB Soft Tweak, or a bug in the OS on handling the radio.

Problems with wifi configuration

Hi,
I have a wifi conection at home. I will try to explain this as clear as possible:
1) I turn on the Wizard. (OFF -> ON) Not from Sleep mode.
2) Configure the wifi conection: "SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter". I put the parameters MANUALLY: IP, DNS, PROXY ...
3) I turn ON the wifi thru the comm manager. 10 secs later it has connected my home wifi.
4) I open IE and no problem. I can surf ok the web!!!
Then I go to a friend's house. He also has wifi conexion , so I manage to connect an check the mail.
So, he doesn't have the same settings as I do at home. I do this:
1) Configure the wifi conection: "SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter". I put the parameters to DHCP or MANUALLY again but with another IP (my friends wifi settings)
2) When I click OK a message prompts saying something like "This changes will have effect the next time you plug out and in the device" ... but I can't plug out the SDIO WLAN Wireless Adapter ...
3) No matters. I try. I go again to the comm manager and turn on the wifi.
4) I can see my friends network, so I connect to it. It has established the connection without problems.
5) I open IE and ... it doesn't show me google!!! I try again ... nothing.
So ... I can't plug in and out the Wireless Adapter, what can I do? Let's try to turn off the wizard and turn it on again ...
I turn it off (not sleep mode) and the on again.
I DON'T touch the configuration and go directly to the comm manager and turn on the wifi. I wait a few seconds and now I go to the IE and check if I can connect to google ... and I CAN!!!
What the hell is going on?? Is there any other way to change the settings and don't have to turn off and on the wizard to take effect...???
Thanks for the help!!

WiFi and prefered networks

I have a strange problem with my HTC Trinity's WiFi. It connects to the network ok, but after stand-by mode, when I press the power on button, it just keeps discovering other WiFi networks but do not connect to my preferred (home) network automatically.
If I click Start / Settings / Connections / WiFi, then select the network and click connect, it connects ok to the network and stays connected until next stand-by, when the problem repeats.
My old iPAQ 4150 connects to the same network all the times easily, but there is a parameter Automatically connect to not-preferred networks which I keep unchecked. Now I cannot find that parameter in Windows Mobile 5.
Any ideas?
I have an identical problem, and it's driving me crackers each time I come out of standby it finds and trys to connect to every other network other than mine! It's a complete pain to open comm manager each time to select my network.
Does anybody please have the solution?
Thanks

Wifi/GPRS??

I hav GPRS enable on my phone and at my home i have a WiFi
So when i connect to the internet from my phone when i am at home it always connects using GPRS but i want to connect it through Wifi when i am at home...Is there any optio through which i can select as to how i want to connect to the internet i.e. either by GPRS or Wifi??
Plz help
disconnect your gprs connection just clikc on the Edge Icon on the top bar and then and disconnect the t-mobile data connection and then manually connect to wifi spot and it shouldnt connect through ur gprs until u want it to
If you have WiFi turned on, it'll automatically try to find a network it can connect you and notify you of the best connection. If it doesn't WiFi may not be on, you can check in the Comm Manager to make sure its on. If it is on, you can click the WiFi icon on the top bar and select your network.
The phone will automatically use Wifi instead of GPRS if WiFi is connected. If it tries to connect through GPRS it is either because WiFi is disabled or WiFi isn't connected to a network.

How can i change the connection sequence?

Hi @all,
how can i change the connection sequence in my hd2?
When i connect the usb-cable to my pc, the wifi is changed to off, but i would wifi is connected.
Please Help and sorry for my bad english.
Thx
Norbert
While your phone is in active sync mode (connected to your pc) your pc is sharing its internet connection with the phone so why would you want to have wifi still on?
On working station, the PC Internet connection is blocking, so i want the connection over wifi or gsm.
if you're using windows mobile device centre (I think the same options are there with the old activesync too), with the phone unplugged, choose 'mobile device settings' from the green screen, then 'connection settings'.
Check the 'Allow data connections on device when connected to PC'. The wifi connection should then persist when the phone is syncing
(edit): on the old activesync PC program, it's under File/Connection settings
Thank you, that's it
