I don't know why when I close the IE or explorer everytime now. There's a error message pop up, and also a box pop up trying to open the IE or explore again.
What have I done wrong? or Did I install somthing in conflict?

Please post the error message exactly to be able to help you further. The second popup is a Vista feature: when Vista detects that an application have stopped abnormally, it offers to troubleshoot or restart it.

XDA Tools not working for me now. I am using Jeffs XDA tool with Programme A, and well I have been able to use it before with my XDA but on a different PC.
Anyway, XDA tools is working in regards to being able to download my present ROM from the device to the hard drive.
Now when I use it try and put a new ROM on the device I am getting an error.
This error shows up in the CMD.exe box that pops up when trying to do this:
"ERROR: GetConnectionType - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the rem
ote host.
error getting connectiontype"
Then the programme A v1.09 pops up and I hit next and next.. then it trys to connect saying:
"Getting data from device... Please wait for 10 seconds"
Then a windows error dialog box pops up saying:
Error 011: EXECUTE REMOTE COMMUNICATION PROGRAM ERROR
Cannot execute the remote communication program.
Please make sure that the USB/Serial cable is properly connected.
Like i said the device is working and connected. Works through Active Sync just fine, and even XDA Tools works when going from device to computer but just not from computer to device.
Any ideas?

Never mind, I have moved to using the Wallaby boot loader and SD to update the ROM and all worked just fine.

Well, I don't have a SD card at the moment -(
Whenever I connect my MDA Vario to my PC (Dell 700m) I get the blue screen of death which says there is a driver issue. Dont know what to do at all. How to delete drivers? Which drivers to delete?
I'm sure someone must have had this problem, but a search turned up nothing.

If u r using kaspersky antivirus you'll have to get rid of it. It was my problem. When I started using another antivirus, problem has gone.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried shutting down Kaspersky but I still got the error. I can try an uninstall.

You have to remove kaspersky. Or sync via IR.

Hi, I am using Kaspersky Anti-Virus and have no problems! 8)
So there might be another incompatibility.
Do you use Active Sync 4.1 ??? The older version 4.0 came with my device and didn't work.
this is my experience, I am using ActiveSync 4.1+WinXP Pro+NOD32+Sygate Personal Firewall...
once I connected my mini s to the pc, Sygate like other firewall software asked me for permittion regarding the usb connection...I permitted for sure....
but the initialisation took more 15mins, and the screen freezed....I tried several times and it happened every time...
then I connected my old PPC (with PPC2003)to the pc, nothing goes wrong....
finally, I EXIT the firewall, quit it...not just "allow all traffic"...then the connection works smoothly......
the problem is I need to quit the firewall before I start ActiveSync...
Im using activesync 4.1, so that should be no problem.
Got it to work!!! Killing Kaspersky did the trick.

with older versions of kav, u have to switch off lan scan.
for example, with kav 5.0.225 wks, no pb.
I was thinking of switching to Panda anyway

It's the Kaspersky Anti-Hacker that causes the problem, the Anti-Virus and Spam applications are fine.
I was using Kaspersky Personal Pro and I got that Blue Screen. Unninstalled it and everything work fine now.

As a lot of you did, I got my wing and started to follow Nyer78's post "All you need on your wing" to try to optimize the phone, thanks to Nyer78.
But after I copied the first 6mb pool.cab to my phone and tapped it, I got an error message as the following:
"There is no application associated with "6mb pool". Run the application first, then open this file from within the application."
Could you help me to solve this? I'm very new to XDA and WM, and very eager to see my wing fly.

You don't run the .bat file on ur actual phone.
Plug your phone up to activesync .. copy over the .CAB file and install it. I think you need to soft reset ... then once your phone connects to activesync again, you run the .BAT file on ur PC

After trying install "Resco Keyboard Pro" for my PPC (Qtek 9100), I get everytime, when I turn on my Pocket PC an error message:

Now I deleted all Resco Keyboard folders, with intention to make disappear this
error message. Has anybody an idea how to solve this problem? My desire is not to get going the software.......I just want that my PPC doesn't hang after each start (because of the error message).

1st qns:
i am having a problem when installing the zune software on my computer..
the first time i install it, it has error opening up, so i uninstall it!
while reinstalling it for the second time or third time, it hangs in the downloading updates 100%... i waited it for 1hr still struck on the downloading updates!
or is there any other way that we can transfer my songs with zune?

1st qns: you'll need zune
2nd qns: there's no bluetooth file exchange
3rd qns: this forum is not the place for that and you should really buy apps
4th qns: WP7 runs from you sd card. you're using it all the time.

Most WP7 ROMs have updating bypassed. You cannot install updates.

i am unable to install the zune software... when i double click the installation file, it start to check for updates > downloading updates ... than struck at 100%..
i have try reinstalling it also no hope...

Two things to try out...
1. Turn UAC off... It could be that it might be asking for Admin rights but stays stuck for some reason..
or
2. Try the install again but disconnect from the Internet like that it cant check/download for an update
Maybe antivirus software could be doing something wrong... So turn it off and see
what is UAC???
i believe when i uninstall the ZUne software.. there are still some remaining zune things inside... that why i struck in installation part...
i even try to install it in the SAVE MODE... also struck....

1. Download the zune package thru Microsoft.com [save it on your desktop] [one from microsoft]

2. Open the "Run" program by hitting "Start" typing "RUN" under start search and hit "Enter" key [or just press and hold "Windows key" + "R"]
3. A small window on the lower left of your screen should show up
4. Then, "Drag and Drop" the "ZunePackage47.exe" [file downloaded from mircosoft.com] towards the box on the "Run" program
[simply hold the left click on the "ZunePackage47.exe" then move you mouse towards the "Run" program then release the left click]
"if its successful you should have thepath/location of the file on the 'Run' program"
5. Then on the"Run" program, go to the very last part of the path after".exe" then add" " [space] followed by"/x"
it should show something like: "C:\[path or location of file]\ZunePackage47.exe /x"then click"OK"
6. Just follow the prompt messages and it will extract additional files and folders to you desktop
7. Afterwards go the folder [x86 orx64 (depends on you Operating System Type)] then access folder with a name "packages" and try to run the file "zune-x64" or "zune-x86" and if you recieve any error message just continue installing it. It should still install
