Is there an application developed that will play audio books similar to the ipod?

For audible:

MS Reader is for ebooks.
Search for MortPlayer. It is an MP3 player with bookmarking features and nice folder management which helps if you have ripped a bunch of audio book CD's to MP3 files.
Thanks...I'll look into those suggestions.

Does anyone know of any tweaks/ hacks/ xda-developers working on adding an auto-resume or a bookmarking option on top of Windows Media Player? Is this really hard to do? I'm surprised no one has worked on something like that yet.
Also, are there any free/ low resource-intensive media player applications that can play DRM-protected WMA files? My problem is a basic one: Conduits Pocket Player and some of the other "robust" media players are too much for me. They have more features than I ever use, and are way too resource-intensive for my little Wizard. I'm just trying to listen to audiobooks on my Wizard while working out, and hate having to locate my spot every time.
Thanks much for any help/ guidance/ suggestions.
Search for The Core Pocket Media Player. This is a very basic, yet powerful media player for PPC devices. But it doesn't have a bookmarking feature as you've described.
I listen to audio books, and the default win player, doesn't allow me to bookmark my spot when i finish & resume from the same spot. Is there a player that does, paid or free, doesn't matter which
I don't know about the audio format but Mortplayer used to let me resume a song from the position it stopped playing, would that work?
Hi,
I use Conduits Pocket Player. This program gives you the option to choose to automatically bookmark (and thus resume) one track or all tracks. This player also has an automatic screen off function and sleep timer.
For me, this is a great player for audio books.
if you have visual studio 2008 you can compile the one from here. http://www.codeproject.com/KB/audio-video/abcPlayer.aspx
Thanks for the replies, Conduits Pocket player looks like the sort of thing I need
I can recommend you pocketMusic, it has bookmarks and I like it more that PocketPlayer. Only issue with it: dousn't have Coverart and doesn't have WVGA-theme, you'll see it when you use it. But for Music and for listening to biiks, its awesome. Just try it out
Greets, cad^^
Kinoma Freeplay (or the paid version) works well with audio books. Even works on Audible content, it can log in, stream or download audible books - if you use audible of course. It seems good quality and works well on the HD. It bookmarks any file and retains a history log.
Hey guys,
Just wondering but what's the best ebook reader (Adobe crashes when I launch even the phone manual in PDF), music player (the TouchFLO one is decent but I'm keeping my options open) and audio book player (too many large MP3s that I want separated from my normal music, booking or continuing from where it left off would be great). Hope it's all easy to find/doable. Thanks for your help.

In my Iphone I am able to update My Library in Audible program the audio books converted to AAA format from MP3. However in Kindle Fire the same files do not get updated into My Library of Audible. The only choice is to open ES File explorer, select Audible folder where the MP3 files are stored and select Amazon MP3 Player to play the audio book. If I select Audible, I get the message "no audio books found". Does any one have a suggestion to offer to listen to audio books using Audible in KF?
Android version of Audible only plays Audible format. Doesn't play any mp3, books or music. I personally use Mort Player Audiobook to play mp3 books. It's an XDA produced app but you can get it from the Android market also. He also has an audio mp3 player.

I have used Ambling book player.
I have been playing around with Evernote and discovered that it has a potentially useful audio note feature. The problem is that the audio files are recorded in .amr format and none of the players that come with the Tab 10.1 will play this format.
I have installed and tested a bunch of audio players includeing Real and Astro but none of these will play this format either. Has anyone found a player that will work with the audio files produced by Evernote?
Bob
same here , work fine on my android phone tho
I asked the folks at Evernote for help. They have found a bug that causes the GT7510 to fail to display all the compatible players when a .amr file is selected within Evernote. The only options displayed are the music player and sound player, neither of which will play .amr. Real Player, which I have on my Tab, and will play .amr, does not display as an option. The same problem exists for the .wav files produced in the Evernote PC version.
Evernote techs are working on a a solution.

thanks for the update , I guess we'll have to wait.
