certainly because there's no link provided for the moment.
I think the roadmap is not yet over..ant then that the OS is not released even as beta...
Schedule
We are targeting our first release slightly after Ubuntu 8.04, following similar release milestones.

Google's new open platform Android on TyTn(8525) or other HTC products?

Appears that Google has released the new Android SDK
http://www.engadget.com/2007/11/12/googles-android-os-early-look-sdk-now-available/
Considering HTC is on the list of direct supporters of Android, do you think the developers of xda will be able to make a build that runs on the current WM6 platforms? Such as the TyTn(8525)?

That italic word insert is made to replace with a phone that could not be used with android. It`s not yet known. So for now it is Yes!
In a recent interview with the CEO of HTC on engadget, this question was asked, first time it was dodge, the 2nd time he bluntly stated that they would not be adding android support to existing Win mobile devices.
Now that's not to say it's not going to happen, but it looks like HTC aren't going to make it easy for us

Windows Mobile 7

Is thair any news about windows mobile 7 on HD2????????????
As far as I know,
- Windows Mobile 7 will be released officially around october this year
- Heard from an former, but still involved microsoft employee, that he has already seen HD2's which run a beta/developer version of WM7
- It's is too bad I can't see it myself and can't lay my hand on that ROM...
Nah, HTC are skipping Windows Phone 7 Series and going straight to 8th Series for the HD2. They are writing the OS

yeh how did u forget to mention that they are going to port xp on hd2 as well
btw da_g is testing win 7 mobile ) its in the test phase and will be released sometime in next month ... keep guessing the dates.
I heard HTC are currently alpha testing a tri-boot rom, you can boot to Windows 7.01, Android and full speed Iphone Emulation mode. It also includes full HD recording, adobe CS5 Mobile Suite. Windows 7.01 includes the ability to pop a disk in your xbox 360 and have it stream the game to your phone so you can play it.
i hear that there are some hiden facts in the HD2.
-> 1,5 Ghz CPU
-> 1 GB RAM
-> 8 GB ROM
htc lock these things. but i think there will be hack´s for it in the next time!
well, i heard that htc is introducing a new hd2 only accesory, a search button, comes with a diy guide and asking 50 bucks for it. will be released q4 2010. ofcourse, you must sacrifice one of the other buttons.

i've heard HTC has abandoned Microsoft because they won't allow third party to develop customised today screens, wich, according to HTC's CEO, Peter Chou, doesn't make Sense.

How to achieve a port (noob guide by noob)

It is a rather shameless blog post advertisement, but I wrote that article for you guys, who are asking about ports and compatible phones. You can read the whole blog post to learn how Mer works, what is needed to run Mer / Nemo / Sailfish on your device.
http://sfietkonstantin.wordpress.co...h-mer-nemo-sailfish-the-noob-guide-by-a-noob/
You can already get familiar with the tools, in preparation of Sailfish launch. It is said that the ARM bits will come one day, so it can be sure that there will be ports.
Here is the important entry in the FAQ I wrote:
Q: I want to get Sailfish running on <put a phone here> !
As you can see, Sailfish is based on Mer, and Mer do not provide hardware adaptation bits. So first, you need to get informed on how the hardware you have can be managed. X86 hardware is basically managed, but for ARM it is harder. The most important part is GPU. Does the GPU manufacturer provides Linux drivers (for Linux distributions). Does it provides driver that is compatible with X11 ? If yes, then it might be possible to get Sailfish running on that hardware. But it is not as easy. See the following video, with nemo.

once again, currently only emulator image available.
emulator image runs inside VirtualBox ofc you can run it on bare metal, but it is emulator.
there is only home screen, no phone app, no contacts, no browser. only use of it is to write your own application and test on it.
Jolla phone i`m sure is ARM based so waiting half year until images for ARM will be available.
and then....... it will be possible to run Jolla UI on Mer compatible device.
Jolla not showing much . . .
What worries me is that Jolla is not showing much in the way of software, which makes porting more of an issue. How many times can you demo the ambiance feature before someone asks: "Where's the beer?" Where is the browser? There is never very much hands-on with the media getting to use it. What about gaming support? What native apps should we anticipate?

What's New in Windows Phone 8.1

This article describes key new features and improvements in Windows Phone 8.1.
"A must read" for all WP developers (but not a hackers of course )
There are lot of "tasty" features in WP 8.1; as for me, it sounds like a great platform improvement without having to upgrade hardware. Hope to get dev preview of WP 8.1 very soon
I've been looking all morning for this article...thanks.

No, some things were hidden.
Hi,
An post, talk already of Windows Phone 8.1, on XDA Portal.
http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...tion-center-windows-to-bring-back-start-menu/
anaheiim, this topic is a little bit different. Article I've posted shortly describes new APIs for developers; it's not a discussion about user experience
P.S. Joke:
- Did you heard: Cortana will marry Siri?
- Are you kidding? It's not possible!
- No, it's possible in 17 states...

You are right, I did not see your link to MS dev blog in your first post.
Dev Preview of 8.1, will be released, of microsoft source during the first half of April.
And WPCentral source, announce April 14.
And for those who did not know (but I think you're all aware), the WP8.1 SDK is officially available in Release Candidate.

Yikes! This Windows Phone 8.1 Update seems to be a whole new OS with a ton of new features and improvements in UI and API.
Still didn't get: do they at MSFT plan to make the Update freely available through Windows Update to exiting Windows Phone 8 customers?

Yes! All Windows Phones can get updated to 8.1. It depends on when (and sadly, if) your carrier releases it. However if you want to get past that, you can just join the dev preview and it'll be downloadable sometime this month. Sources have been saying either the 10th or the 14th. So lookout

I thought MSFT had complete control over which devices get upgraded?
I saw in build conference that they had upgraded even the lowly 520 to 8.1!
Cheers!

I really thought they said (at build) that 8.1 preview was supposed to be available for download today 4/8.
They do. What part of @desolate1's post suggested otherwise? Join the dev preview program and get the update straight from Microsoft (as soon as it releases) while the bits are fresh!
It's only if you want to get it through your OEM and/or carrier that you'll need to wait, and risk disappointment. Reading comprehension, yo!

Yeah officially they won't release anything for a phone. But at the end of the day it's the same chip, so it uses the same instructions!
Here are a lot of people writing their own kernels, I would guess that's not impossible for them....
