Hello.
I want to active the "H"-Logo for HSDPA on my Toshiba Portege G900.
There are 3 icon bitmaps for every connection like EDGE, GPRS, 3G etc. but nothing for HSDPA. On the HTCs there is a "H"-Logo.
Can anyone send me this 3 bitmaps? And maybe there is a registry entry for using this logo in the registry like the entry to use the EDGE-Logo on WM5-Devices like the Vario ?
Thanx.

Hi folk,
I'm using a MDA II with an O2 network in germany.
In germany O2 has the nice feature of homezone (a special zone with extra rates).
The homezonetool (30032install.ARM.CAB) shows you if you are in a special area if you have now discout prices.
Install the tool and homezone is installed as sevice (ohz.dll) and it's works.....
... but now I'm wondering why I can't make any GPRS connection. The "G" is not shown.... Making a GSM internet connection is no problem, only GPRS is not working.
Does anyone knows what happens when I install the DLL. I checked the installer, there is only one exe (for turning on and off), two bmp-files and one dll.
Here the registry:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\OHZ]
"Dll"="OHZ.dll"
"Prefix"="OHZ"
"Order"=dword:00000064
"Keep"=dword:00000001
"Index"=dword:00000000
"Context"=dword:00000000
"DisplayName"="o2 HomeZone"
"Description"="o2 HomeZone Service"

I tried to change registry to get different icon for EDGE and GPRS as in Wizard - but without success. In regisgtry is not the same key. Can someone to advise?
This is a FAQ, please read before posting:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_FAQs
The reg tweak working for the previous models to show the [E] instead of [G] when you are on the EDGE network is not working on the Hermes

i found that some cool edits cannot be used on tytn:
-changing the "G" for gprs with the "E" don't work because the string doesn't exist, and if i create it it doesn't work anyway
-moving the default location for the rings: even if i redirect to the microSD the phone don't look at the new folder even after a soft reset
i also found that the phone sometimes don't change to umts from the gprs as soon as the umts is available. i must switch off than on the phone antenna...
any solutions? thanks
A couple of days ago with the help of several people postings in this forum I was able to unlock my 8525. But I just realized that PIE stalls for ever opening any page and also the sign in for MS Messenger and Hotmail are impossible with GPRS. My Gmail account is set to retreive email every 15min thru GPRS and is working very different compared on how it works in the 8125 as well with a Qtek 8500. The 3 applications work as a clock during WiFi connections but once I use GPRS simply they don´t work at all. I have an 8125 with he same settings as my 8525 and GPRS and the aforementioned applications work great thru GPRS. Does anybody has a clue on what possible is going wrong?
I have the same problem as you...
can not connect to messenger using gprs... and I'm also in Mexico (monterrey)
Maybe it could be because of the carrier... what company are you using to have gprs service??
Please KINDLY HELP with Project
After 5 or 6 months I decided to rescue my Hermes from the junk box, I was hopping that WM6 would help in data connection problem but unfortunely it didn´t! Then I decided to start a project to investigate the cause of this problem, the first step in the project was a registry key comparison on the same device under 2 different networks (Network "A" where data connection is impossible & Network "B" where data connection is excellent). The first finding was on the reg key:
HKLM\Comm\Cellular Line\Parms\Tcpip
Network "A" registry shows values of 10.11.12.13 and 10.11.12.14 for WINS and Network "B" doesn´t even show this key.
Please help me (and to many others with similar problem) and provide:
1.- Your network name
2.- YES / NO (Your server assign DNS and WINS addresses)
3.- YES / NO (If answer to #2 was YES, please indicate if you see address values for WINS in your registry)
Thanks a lot
Network A
1. Movistar Panama
2. Yes 200.39.10.1
3. No

It only take a few seconds
Come on guys...! It only takes a few seconds to find out and give your feedback. I kindly ask for your help.
As per some users' request, I'm coding S2U2 to display the connection icon on the top bar.
On MSDN, there are a lot of cellular connections available... http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb499669.aspx (table 4 & 5 at the bottom of the page)
But under the \Windows folder, it only contains the following icons:
- 1xRTT
- 3G (but MSDN does not mention it)
- EDGE
- EDVO
- GPRS
So my questions are:
1. Which connection icon should be displayed when the following connection is connected:
- CSD
- EVDV
- HSDPA
- UMTS
2. When will be the 3G icon be displayed?
EDIT: You don't have to provide the full answers. Just let me know which icon is shown if your device is connected to any one of them.
Thanks.
i do not know about all but for 3G a white icon with written 3G on it appears. like a gprs G. and for EDGE it shows E instead of G.
I have this...
Maybe it could help u...!!!
Maybe Bruce Jackson, the developer of phoneAlarm may could help you. He figured out a way to check and divide up to eight different connection types.
