error

keep getting error 270 any one know what that is all about

Hey, I ran into the same problem, and couldn't figure out why. I tried just about everything, (enabling advanced networking), etc...but I ended up hard spl'ing and now I never have any issues flashing. I would recommend doing that first. If you have any questions about it, just pm me.

ERROR 270
I have the same error - I have tried to flash it again and I still get hte same error... I erased the Flash Center directory, tried to use the old one - the one I flashed OT 5.3... But I still get the error - actually with the old flash center everything seems to go correctly but ultimately o reboot, OT5.0 is on not the new one!!!
Any other suggestions?

are you using the USPL flash center or the HardSPL flash center. If your phone is not HardSPL'd you shouldn't try to use the HardSPL flash center for it. Conversely, if it IS HardSPL'd, you shouldn't use the USPL flash center with it

HTC 3300 wrong ROM upgrade,,no display,,pls HELP

i have made a mistake
have tried to upgrade my T-MOBILE MDA COMPACT III(aka htc p3300) with the HTC TOUCH ROM
it started to upgrade and an error occured
then i have lost the display and all
when i connect it to my laptop using USB i hear a beep in my computer but active syn didnt find any device
i have downloaded the correct rom version from T-Mobile but it doesnt seem to work
i dont know what to do now..please help me it has to be recovered
there must be some way pls pls anyone help me to get my working phone back

as i said on the other post
well you have to get the original ROM for your device.. see their website.. it should be there for free. or try to get it from anyplace.. (the original rom)
and then flash it using SD Card flashing

if WM6 did not work.. try WM5

thanks i m downloading it...but tell me one thing if there is a software issue then why isnt ther any display i mean no backlight no display no charging led

i think that becuase the bootloader , ISP or one of these stuff are corrupted.. don't know.
and as i told once i got my artemis completely dead
and finally i got it fixed by putting the ARTEIMG.nbh in SD card as they said in the wiki and then by pressing the camera button and the power.
and it started flashing it as the SD card flashing but it took about 30 mins .. and there was three phases in the flashing progress which it was the first time i see.

having same problem with both WM5 and WM6 upgrades!!

did you flashed it by SD card or RUU?
if you used RUU try by SD card flashing

did u get the same prob? i mean the phone seems to be dead? if so...there is a hope then
well...i used RUU simply downloaded it and tried to install by setup,,, dont know about card flashing but will try
where can i find that NBH file?
do u have that .NBH file?

you have to extract the file you using a program like winrar
there will be few files.. one of them is the nbh
that's how i got the nbh file.

Error (262) for diamond2 wm 6.5

Hi,
Help me please just me and that happens to me the mistakes my God.... I had the original ROM version coming with my diamond2, put the upgrading and went well until the moment he arrived at 9% and restart the pda, re-install I think is normal, however the installation continued until k stopped in 18% and after a long time gave a notice of error (262) made the recovery as recommended and continues to give error ....

My phone was hardspl´d
It stuck at 18%, but no error message so far. Did you unplug your phone?

I'm not sure. Have you flashed other roms before? Perhaps you have a bad download. I know the servers are overloaded from all of us geeks sucking down the WM6.5 rom... perhaps its bad.
What I normally do is put the phone in bootloader mode first by holding VolDown, while resetting the phone. This will give windows time to install the proper drivers and get situated. Once done, try flashing again.
I think 262 is a connection error. Probably driver related since you said you ran your stock rom. But check your cable. Make sure its secure and reliable. Next try another USB slot. If nothing else try a different computer... sometimes PCs just will not cooperate.

I had Official 6.1 Asia WWE installed, HARDSPLed. Tried to upgrade to 6.5 on my computer and my laptop, nothing worked. Both stops at 9%, disconnects, comes back and stucks at 18% again. Had to go back to 6.1, this time it worked to bring phone to life.
My phone was bought in Taiwan.
Guess I am out of luck

1. Run the RUU_Topaz_S_HTC_WWE_2.16.405.4_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship.exe on your PC/laptop to extract and get the RUU-signed.nbh.
2. Copy the RUU-signed.nbh to topaz SD card and rename to topaimg.nbh
3. Upgrade new ROM from SD card.

I had the same 262 error as well, screen went blank for a second at 9% and finally freezez at 18% with the error message. Heres what you need to do:
Update your HardSPL to 1.83
Flash 6.5 again

How can u exit bootloader screen? Only by removing the battery or...?

I do not have with me the adapter card to do this
There is also a problem is that the pda now I do not go the menu with the three colors blue, green and red, until I have done a hardreset and nothing ....
at least I no longer ask the solution with the ROM 6.5 we only have as I had before ... and wanted my pda to work help me please

Little history for my friends with same problem here:
1. Bought Diamond in Taiwan with Chinese;
2. HARDSPL 1.33;
3. Install Asia WWE 6.1 ROM;
4. Try update Official WWE 6.5 ROM, no luck, remove battery and put back;
5. Reinstall Asia WWE 6.1 ROM, everything back to normal;
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too

I already installed the previous ROM with the 6.1 and everything was normal.
I tried to install again the OFFICIAL ROM 6.5 and the problem remains back to the error at 9% and 18% for the progress bar giving an error (262).
not understand some things as:
6. Update HARDSPL 1.83; Ask brother to donate
7. Install Duttys ROM or Official ROM works too
is there any solution?

Sorry:
1. install Hard-SPL 1.83.OliNex (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312)
2. install 6.5 ROM or Cooked Rom.
It resets 9% again in Official ROM, but reconnects and go to 100% (no stop 18% again).
Dutty ROM no stop at 9% or 18%.

ah no problem of card pk started the card with the adapter to the PC and read it perfectly.

When you run the RUU, the RUU-signed.nbh will be extract temporarily to a folder in driver C:
(For me: C:\Users\Duongla\AppData\Local\Temp\pft51D9.tmp)
Just do a search and you'll find it.
And remember to HSPL to 1.83.

ihave olinex 1.83 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520312 and i can not install ANY wm6.5 rom!!! on the other hand EVERY 6.1 rom i have trie (5 different greek and english) work perfect?!?!??

i had the same issue
i was running 6.1 (stock rom) which was hard spl'd
i had the same error kept going to 262 and haviong to be recovered
so i re hard spl'd with the latest one, and it worked fine after that,

Problem in installing Rom on HTC HD2

I have problem in my HTC HD2 that when I am trying to install new Cooked Rom it failed and stopped.
After this color screen it will convert to black with ruler that count from 0% to 100% it stopped at 0%.
I did update my rom before but by one EXE file called RUU_LEO_HTC_ARA 1.66.415.3
But If I try to install a new Rom that has 2 files called (LeoCustomRUU + ruu_signed) it will stop at 0% as I said.
I tried by several Rom that have 2 files But the same result.
Please Try to solve my problem, & Thanks.

Yep you must install HSPL then you install ROM.

I need a rom of windows mobile 6.5 it was in english and it seemed like one of these

it had some extras like i could set musicplayer on the first screen,basicly i could set every thing on the desktop. can anyone help me?

I'm not certain, if you are looking for a custom ROM or just Cookies Home Tab CHT , which mainly is the tool to do all the setup, you mentioned.

Im trying to install one of these roms but it can not be installed. i tryed from sd card too but it says loading...
and i cant install cht too and cookies because the clock and others become to big..

Can you describe the error a little more detailed? I was able to install nsourm's ROM without problems. Did you see the tri-colored screen already?

I tryed to install nsourm_rom_0409.nbh and all of them and cant be installed, i can install roms from shipped roms and those can be installed but this can not...it stuck at 0% and the rom from http://www.filefactory.com/ can not be downloaded Ive downloaded a old one .. couse this says: "All free download slots are in use. You can download this file immediately by upgrading to FileFactory Premium. Otherwise, please feel free to try again shortly. "

You gotta try multiple times, until you get a slot to download a newer version. I tried at least for half a day
The flashing itself worked, but I remember it took more than 10 minutes to finish.
Did I understood right, that you have flashed custom ROM's before?

I've downloaded the rom and when i try to install it gives me error 262 and it does not continues to be installed stays at 0% ..yes I'have flashed before... but i did not made a backup of that rom

Just to be sure i understood your problem: Did you used SSPL with a custom ROM and it didn't work ? What OS do you have on PC ?

yes that is right...im using windows 7 ultimate .It can not be upgradet stays at 0% and then gives an error :S

EROR 262 you can solve this way
- Make shure battery is over 50%
- Soft-reset the device - Don't Skip This Step !
- If is on your PC installed Software-Firewall, Deactivate it (temporery,just to be sure, Reactivate FW later)
- Use orignal USB Kable. (usb data link cable)
- Right click on the RUU.EXE and click on Run as Administrator

- make sure, you choose ActiveSync profile upon connecting the phone to PC
- ActiveSync should be set up completely and Sync connections with Win7 PC should be working without problems before starting with a new ROM
