Just hard reseted. Now keyboard is jumbled - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I just hard reseted, using the ATT Rom and now my keyboard characters (the ?, * and whatnot) are not assigned to their proper keys. any help?
thanks guys!

Search the forum and the wiki. There is a registry patch that will solve it.

I think there may be a simpler solution. The different branded phones actually have slightly different keyboards for different languages even though they are all the TyYN (Hermes). Try searching for HTweakC or HTCustom. I have a Cingular 8525 and choose 'Cingular' keyboard layout. My friend bought his in Japan and chose Japanese. Just keep trying them all until yours works. There's only like 5 or so

handwriting

hello all,
i have a t-mobile mda vario aka wizard with dutch wm5
But i don't have the transcriber or handwriting options,
They are writen in the manual.
Ain't they availeble at all, or as a seperate install..
thanks , arnold
also have it in manual but nothng in device..... strange...
Install this piece of software
MS transcriber
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...lts.aspx?st=b&na=88&View=en-us&qu=transcriber
And it works!
It doesn't work on my Vario (T-Mobile, NL version)
I am missing this functionality also. Well I tried your solution but although Transcriber installed on the device OK, it does not work for me. It appears in the input-selection dialog when using Word, but selecting it does nothing - just sticks with virtual keyboard input unfortunately.
Any other ideas, or comments on whether others have found the same?

Hi tried transcriber and getting same problem as you, activating it does nothing! Help!
Cheers

Both these apps don't have a dutch version, so thats why T-mobile NL decided to leave them out. There should be a patch coming.
But who cares about that stuff anyway. Did you notice there is a complete keyboard you can slide out?
I have experience with the older ppc models and believe me,
yuo realyl don't nead thad rekognitoin software ****
hmm...
hard reset my vario and transcribe seems to be built in and working now... can't remember seeing it before.....

How to generate Swedish characters with keyboard

I’ve been using an Ipaq hx2750 for over a year now, but feel a huge need of having a keyboard. Strongly considering the Wizard (the Qtek or K-Jam), I’m interested in finding out more about the ability to customize the keyboard layout to support Swedish characters (å, ä and ö).
Surfing to www.myqtek.com and choosing Swedish, brought me to the insight, that there is a Swedish version of the device. This means both Swedish keyboard and ditto OS. Since I’d prefer my OS in English, I wonder whether it is possible to change the normal WWE version’s keyboard mapping to match the picture found on this web site (which is the Swedish version of the device).
I’ve read about this keyboard mapper, but need to get confirmed that it can be done.
If it is possible to generate the mentioned Swedish characters on a “native” WWE Wizard's keyboard (without any patches or remapping), it would also be of interest and enough info for me to buy the English version.
On www.myqtek.com, I also found the following file, which was supposed the remap the keyboard to Swedish in case a hard reset was done on a device (however, this might only relate to units with the Swedish OS). The file is located here http://www.myqtek.com/downloadFile....dic_keyboard_1102.sa.cab&node=5040&media=5037.
If someone has a “clean unit” and don’t mind doing a Hard Reset to retrieve the English keyboard setting, I’m very interested in finding out whether the patch generates a Swedish keyboard map on an English unit as well.
I’ve spent quite a few hours scanning this forum on the mentioned issue, but without being able to narrow it down just to the keyboard remapping (most posters are interested in altering the whole ROM into another language as well).
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments!
Best regards,
Bateman
I cant answer directly to your question, but in finland there is few shops, which are selling qtek 9100 wwe with swedish keyboard. Its little bit more expensive than wweOS/wwe keyb (something like 10-15euros).
Other product which you should look is Skandinavisk tastatur

Thanks for the reply! The suggsted link changes the soft keyboard into Swedish. Additionally to change the slide-out keyboard's layout into Swedish, simply run the small program found on www.myqtek.se. The small application can be removed like any other program through "Remove programs" in Start->Settings.
I now have a WWE Qtek9100 with Swedish layout on the hardware keyboard.

Wizard Keyboard map incorrect after changing rom

I recently reflashed my o2 xda mini s with the far superior imate rom. it's much better however the mapping on my slide out keyboard is now slightly wrong.
all of the unshifted keys are fine (letters, arrows, backspace etc) but when i hit shift, many of the symbols are bounced one key over. For example Shift A should be ! and is now ~. Shift S is now ! and should be @ etc etc.
Where can i change/update/hack this ?
thanks,
malty
Yeah had the same problem too. aAfter upgrading to the latest Qtek rom on my O2 xda mini s. Will appreciate a solution to rhis problem
You probably just need to change the keyboard locale in the registry. Just search the forum or look at the Wiki and you will find it.
cant find how/where to do that, anyone help ? thanks
fixed it using the tool in this thread,

set keyb to uk english ticked the box and rebooted
perfect now
thanks

Never ending story - Keyboard Layout

Hey guys!
First I'd like to say, that this forum is awesome - never seen so much know-how on a forum before.
I got a problem with my SPV-M3000, that i bought in Poland with a QWERTY Keyboard layout. I've flashed a German Qtek 9100 Rom on it, but the layout got messed up. It's QWERTZ and not QWERTY and all the symbols (like @ or $) are not in the position they should be.
Well i've read a lot of threads with the keyboard-layout problem. Tried the registry-hack but it didn't work for me. Then I tried AEKMAP, but I don't know how to configure it - do I have to buy it? I've found a WWE *.AEK File on the website, but the layout is still messed up but in another way. Plz somone help me! It sux to write something with a false keyboard layout!
No one got a solution 4 my problem?
try this article you will need to find teh correct country code ms have it on there iste i have a uk model but need to use the US version to work

Kaiser keyboard language problem

Hi,
I have a Kaiser (T-Mobile MDA III) with a German keyboard (QWERTZ) layout.
The Kaiser
Since I'm Dutch I changed to ROM to English and changed the keyboard to German layout via Start - Programs - Utilities- Device Config - Advenced Config - Keyboard.
But still when I press the "z" key the "y" is displayed.
What can be done about this?
I'm running L26_WM6 (HTC Kaiser WWE version_3) Kaiser has SPL running.
Is it also possible to switch hardware german keyboard against english one? And if yes where can they be bought?
Thanx
hi, i think that is what you looking for.
i've found it after hard searching days...
the XDA_JCE... cab makes the hardware keyboard 100% german, (FN)+SPACE is also working!
try it.

Hey everyone.
I know, that the last post was 2 years ago, but I've got huge problem with my HTC TyTN II. I reseted the device to manufacturer settings and after this action, I can't bring my hardware keyboard to be german again. My Kaiser is running on shifu_4.0 WWE ROM-Version (don't know, what it means, i've bought it like this) and this ROM is english. Before hard reset, i've installed this XDA_JCE... package and it worked just fine. Now I get the "Z" on the right place and "ß" is also available, but [FN] and SPACE are not working. I really type a lot on device and need hardware-keyboard with working Symbols. Do anyone know, how i deal with this problem.
Thanks a lot

Nothing works. I've tried every possible method with changing Registry, installing other cab's etc. The problem is, I always had Symbian before and don't really know, what I've got to do. Should I perhaps reinstall the ROM? Perhaps on the base of native german one? Do someone know a god one?
Thanks
