Well, I have the same problem. After updating with the new ROM-file my Qtek says: There is no BT hardware on this device. Strange!! Something wrong in the new ROM-file?
Before updating I had no problems whatsoever woth BT.
Peter
I only have this problem when calender+ 2.2 is install. have not try the 2.3.

I have the same problem since updating. If I leave BT off for some time (hours?) and then try to reenable it I am told there is no bluetooth hardware. After a soft reset everything is ok.
Gonna call Brightpoint tomorrow.
thx.. guys... I even reflashed it to if it got bad under the upgrade... I will also call in the problem tomorrow... not to brightpoint.. as my was imported and uses Dangaard Telecom Swedens ver of the upgrade... same bug in both BT software...

I have the same problem..
I also have this problem (sometimes working, sometimes not working after soft reset), and also have Calendar+ 2.2.3 installed, now I removed it, let's see if it will happen again.
A way to get pass the new BT patch..
Hardreset
Softreset when Unit says its done after Screen align and timezone etc.... before the ExtRom load.
Install all cabs in the now visible External Rom folder exept the one named:
Default_Patch_bthusb.CAB .
You now have the old BT and all other is updated.
Or ..
Live with the new BT patch and do like this:
Start BT.. activate ... and unactivate .. shut down BT settings.
Start it and now it can be activated.
Works 90% for me.

I don't really understand what you are saying..
After upgrading (Dangaard update) I get the Error: "There is no Bluetooth hardware installed on this device." - as soon as I click the bottom icon in today-screen. Same if I try Bluetooth icon in Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth.
How do I ;
"Start BT.. activate ... and unactivate .. shut down BT settings.
Start it and now it can be activated. "
?
All help is very appreciated!
5 soft-resets later and my BT-module is working again. Strange ****.
Same thing here sometimes...
Hi everyone,
my Austrian T-Mobile MDA compact (original firmware, no "cross-update" or whatever) also has this problem sometimes. There where some resets too, when switching on the device after using a BT headset (turned BT on -> connected BT headset -> made call -> endet call -> switched MDA off, while headset was still on -> switched MDA on -> imediate "auto-softreset"). By now I haven't realised, what's the reason for it, but I will take care.
My guess at this moment: Something's wrong with handling of bluetooth headset connections or/and suspend handling.
I'm really asking myself who the f*ck is responsible for the fact, this beautiful little device is stuck with this crappy MS bluetooth stack (missing profiles, buggy like hell, etc.)...
I got tired with the bug and now I leave my BT on 24/7. My old habits of keeping my phone charged makes this ok for me.
I occasionally got this bug both before and after the upgrade to 1.06.
I simply switch off the power and on again. The bluetooth is the back. It works every time for me.
In setting.. U have 2 BT settings.. one for PORTS and one for manage devices and turning bt on and off.
activate a bt inbound port or outbound port under settings... system .. bluetooth settings.. to get bt back..
I now use Bluetooth switch by buzz_lightyear to manage the bt.. ,no more bt hardware error
Love this little soft.. Thank U Buzz.. !!!
Its even a huge + to use it .. soooo easy to enable and disable bt.. both in discover and hidden mode..
It can be found in the forum.. Even using hes replacing BT icons.. realy well looking..
Thx again Buzz..

Is there a fix?
hey all,
I get this intermittant problem too... probably because I leave bluetooth off 95% of the time.
My XDA 11 is running ROm 1.60.00WWE, with ExtROM version 1.60.44
Soft resets seem to make little difference.
Does anyone have a easy and comprehsible solution to restore the 'missing' Bluetooth hardware?
Thanks
tym
Hi there,
Is there someone using TomTom Navigator 6.03 and experiencing the same strange thing I do?
Everytime I start TomTom the sound is off; the sound off icon is on screen. I have to tap Turn on sound in the preferences menu twice in order to have the sound turned on and to have the icon disappeared.
When I exit TomTom and start it again, the sound is turned off again.
Annoying and no idea how to fix that. Deleting the navigator.cfg didn't help.
MapSettings.cfg in the current Active map folder - is it set to read only per chance? - Mike

Hi. I am having exactly the same issue here with TT. I've checked my mapsettings.cfg file and it's not read only...The only thing I can think of is it is because my map is installed on the microdrive, not an SD card
Any help appreciated too!
Merlin
Mapsettings.cfg is not read only and my maps (everything on TomTom) is installed on the Storage Card.
I have exactly the same installation running on my Touch as well, and no problems at all. Seems to be something on my X7500 then.... but what!!???
I am having exactly the same problems, it's been driving me potty! TT is installed on storage card, no idea whats causding it!
Same problem here...
However it started when I updated it from 6.01 back on my old Wizard. That worked properly. I did discover that you don't have to go to Prefs... you can get the sound back on by tapping the joystick to the right. Also, it doesn't happen when it's on AC power, but only on battery.

Not a bad workaround, just wish we could find what was causing this.
Just to clear things out, but who has this problem with official and legal versions of TTN 6.03? - E.g. has it something to do with cracked/patched versions?
Mine's legal...
Although I'm starting to regret messing with TomTom. Their customer service is awful. Unless your device is one the approximately 5 devices they officially support, they'll wash their hands of you if you call for help saying your device is "not compatible." I called for support on my Wizard, which to be exact was a Cingular 8125. That phone is not on their list of compatible devices, but its twin, the T-Mobile MDA, is on the list. I called and said I had an 8125 and they refused to help me. I hung up, called back, and said I had an MDA. They tried to help me, but when they didn't have an instant answer for me they just said, "Sorry, we don't have that problem on ours" and started spewing out useless canned knowledge base articles. For heaven's sake, the MDA and 8125 are the SAME PHONE! Also, don't tell them you have WM6, because WM6 is "not compatible." Basically, if you have to call TomTom support, lie through your teeth. I'm waiting for OnCourse Navigator, due out in October or November, and then I may abandon TomTom.
Just to compile information...
OK Let's see:
1) I got my TT6.03 legal with legal maps and I got the problem.
2) Running my old legal TT6.01 I didn't had the problem.
3) If I do it using Prefs I need to activate twice the sound in order to get the mute removed
4) I got the problem running on baterry, using the oficial car charger and using the wall charger. I got the problem all the time no matter what power source I'm using.
5) The "Move Joysting to Right" workaround works great. Thank you very much. That don't solve the problem but makes my live much easier.
So... that's the point. I'm running TT6.03 (legal) over WM5 ROM in spanish.
Best Regards,
mahjong
So.... resuming: it's TomTom Navigator 6.03 with the combination of the HTC X7500/Athena.
The problem isn't there while running 6.03 on a HP iPAQ hx4700, Qtek 9000 and HTC Touch.
I have 6.030 on WM6 English on my Athena and I don't have this problem...
I don't have this problem either. I'm using version 6.0
LOL !!!!
Ok man !!! Is your connection GPRS/EDGE/UTMS/HSDPA is online ?
Because if there's an active connexion Tomtom start allways with the sound off.
Try to disconnect before launching Tomtom

Then that goes for version 6.03 only. With 6.00 it didn't matter wether the data connection was active or not.
Anyway, I need to stick with 6.03 and live with the mute problem, since 6.03 can work with my voices stored on storage card (instead of MD) and performs a fix in only seconds (instead of 1 - 1,5 minute).
No sound after starting TT6.03
I have the legal version of TT6.03 and I have the problem too. I only have this problem when my phone is connected to the internet using gprs, umts or hsdpa. If their is no connection I do not have this problem. It also happens on other devices for instance the HP iPAQ 6340 and it is a know bug. TomTom know's about it. It will be solved in te next version.

BINGO!!! We got a winner here ladies and gentlemans.
Mine has the connection online all the time due to my push-mail solution (Blackberry Connect). I did some test shutting down Blackbery Connect before starting TT and "the problem" just gone.
Thank you. Anyway since I must have connection online all the time the "Joystick move to right" trick is great for me.

Guys great thread, I am glad to see someone else is struggling with this strange issue. Its really no big deal, its just annoying. Any updates on this issue yet?
And here was me thinking it was my *cough* test *cough* version. Loving the 'fix' taa v much. I might have to write a mortscript that recycles the data connection, rotates the screen and starts TT.
tomtom 6.02-7910 works fine
I also was having problems with tomt 6.032 but the problems does not seem to exist in tomtom 6.02-7910

which ROM do you have?
Do you happen to have BigMike bluetooth running?
standy..you mean you press the power button and the screen goes off, right? And then it turns on by itself? Did you check if your bluetooth is on? Because I experienced this too before, if I left the bluetooth on and I turn off (stand by) the BA after a while it will turn on itself. Hope this helps. Cheers.
Try going through your power management under settings.
You might have tick a few things there.
I was getting this trouble too!
As Resident evil... on nights my device wakes up and begins screaming STARS!!!!
I just call Claire redfield and Alice and they burn on its head! PUMMM!
jajajaj
Well... check out your settings if you have a program runing under... and it needs conections via BT, Wi-fi or GPRS... your device gonna wakes up trying to get conection all the ways it can... if nothing is runing behind maybe was a bad flash... reflash it...
Hope all we can help you...
We are like a squadron supporting forces... Huh im playing too much Acecombat 5....
It could either be Bluetooth running and also it could be some appointment/message turning your device on. Also, do you have your device cradled? ActiveSync (if connected to PC) will turn your device on to sync.
Hope this helps

There is no fix. Since WM5, the BT driver requires that it be turned on periodically or else it turns itself off. All ROM cookers (AFAIK) use the big mike fix driver to keep the BT alive.

I read somewhere that if you installed another BT stack that eventually it would solve the problem? Is this true?
ok there is fix but i do not advice you to use it if you use BT handsfree - because with original driver BT turns off when device get in standby and this one keeps it working
you can install S2U2 and set:
Lock when device wakes up: ON
Power Off in: 5s (this is the minimum).
this is not a solution, but more like a workaround...this works for me well...
Hello
've just got myself a bluetooth headset model jabra 3030 and linked to my hd2 and it works fine except for one thing, there is no screenlock activated while i receive the calls so the phone is in a mess after having it in the pocket without the screenlock activated.
Maybe there is some way to shut off the touch when the calls is connected?
Does anyone know if there is any solution to this problem?
You need an app that uses the proximity sensor to keep the screen switched off
As I have no idea of your rom, you will need to search for one
Thanx Johnerz.

If you got the phone new then it should be Windows Mobile 6.5.
I flashed HD2O 1.23b1 ROM to my HD2. Almost everything is perfect (or at least has workaround) except bluetooth. I cannot turn it on. Actually when I turned it on, it will turn itself off automatically after few seconds.
Bluetooth is must-have feature for me coz I leverage it to use my phone in car. Can anybody with the same ROM has the similar issue? How to fix it? Any workaround?
After searching the forum I found a workaround for this.
Turn on Wi-Fi
Turn off Bluetooth
Reboot the phone
Now I can turn on Bluetooth.
However after while, I found its Bluetooth will turn off again automatically.
I don't have a chance to test the CAB mentioned in the following thread on this ROM yet. (Actually I cannot download it from office network.)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250869
Hopefully they could fix the issue.
Similar behaviour to me...
But I discovered that if I charge my HD2 (when I'm in the car) then the bluetooth is not turning off automatically any more...and I can use it.

Really? How about Wi-Fi? Do you need to enable Wi-Fi to turn on Bluetooth?
If it works, at least we have a workaround before 1.23 final version released.
I just realized that I cannot send CAB to HD2O ROM. Pathetic~

Yes, wi-fi should be ON in any case...if you want BT working.

I tested the solution. It works! Thanks you so much! At least we had a workaround. Hopefully HD2O could fix the bug in the next release.
