RE:MMS Software
I have located the MMS cab install from an Alpine extended ROM. Copy to QTEK and tap to run, you may have to do a soft reset when finished. This should install all the MMS software. Let me know if it works
It is located on the ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com user = xda p/w xda
This is were the file is located. /Alpine/Extended Roms/WWE-Roms/WWE 1.11.112/CAB-MMS20020-Alpine-ENU-21DEC04.CAB

i tried to join the petition but after filling the petition , and submittedall..........
came an other screen to verify something i can't understand!!!!!
i thought they wanted to sell something or what?
however i wish ihad 2005 on my device...................
you are a great person it finally worked and i was able to set my mms account avoiding of having to go back to the shop on monday........
Hi, I'm really pleased it worked.
Although I would question the shop you bought it from, if I were you, as this should have been installed as standard with your qtek, along with a few other bits. :?: I know this because my friend has a QTEK 2020i.
All The Best
DAz.
Concerning the WM2005 Petition, I believe that once you have done the first screen, your details are entered, I ignored the adverts myself.
Hi again,
I just thought, another thing you could try is a 'cold reset' This will reset the qtek, to factory settings (out of the box). If there is no problem with your extended ROM (has all the qtek programs), then MMS etc should install.
**Note** Please read the 'Important' section before you carry out the cold reset.
1. Cold reset by holding your power button down and pushing the soft reset at the same time. Your qtek will then reboot.
2. Once re-booted it will go into the standard screen setup. After this the programs from your extended rom will start to install, your screenlight may turn off at this stage, just tap power button to turn back on, you will see quite a few automatic installations, let these finish at the end you qtek will reboot and all should be installed, including your MMS.
3. If MMS etc are still not installed then reuse the MMS file you downloaded temporarily then I would return to the shop for repair or replacement.
*Important*
Things to do before cold reset
a. Copy anything you want saved to your computer.
b. Go to 'settings/system/permanent save, on your qtek. Tick the boxes to permanently save the information. (these will be saved when you cold reset)
Things to do after cold reset
a. You will have to re-install any programs you have previously installed.
b. Don't forget to re-install the apps that came with your qtek cd.
c. Go to 'settings/system/permanent save, on your qtek and tick the boxes that you want restored.
After two weeks of having my Exec running in Basic Mode, I decided to try out Corporate mode as I had read that it would be faster. I hard reset and immediately noticed a massive speed difference. However, after I soft reset the device after entering Mobile web and wap settings for O2, the MMS account disappeared- all the settings were there in MMS configuration but the account was nowhere to be seen. Has anybody else encountered this or do people not bother with MMS? I think in the meantime, until I can find a solution I will have to go back to Basic mode which is defintely slower
Very grateful for any help,
Fin
This is the best news I have heard, I never use MMS, in Australia if your MMS get delivered your really lucky so I never use it.
I am going to change to corporate O2 Rom.
Well at least some good came out of me swearing at my phone for an hour!

Probably related to the WM5 'feature' where settings changes are lost if you soft reset within a few minutes of making the change.
I had exactly the same problem in corporate mode.
So I reinstalled ArcSoft MMS Composer, and then followed the same procedure required for installing MMS on Himalaya WM5.0.
I've detailed the relevant instructions after re-installing the MMS Composer:
1. Soft-reset
2. After this , go the messaging application. click on Inbox you should see a new account there called MMS.
If not click on Menu>Tools>New Account
Create a dummy email account (it doesn't matter what info you fill in, just make it up) but at the Account information select MMS as the account type and click next.
Then finish going through the account creation, again for the server information making anything up.
3. Once that is completed clock on Menu>MMS Configuration then click the servers tab.
I suspect, however, that re-installing the composer may not be nessesary, as it may be just the registry settings for the MMS composer which were lost, so I've attached the registry entry I think might get it back (MMS-part.reg) - when followed by the steps above and also the full registry entry (MMS.reg)...but this is just a thought - re-installing the program worked for me
Which of the CAB files on the Extended Rom will reinstall the Arcsoft MMS Composer. I am in the same boat, have hard reset to Coporate Mode but MMS is not setup. In the Messages section, I have MMS Configuration option under Menu, and the registry settings all look OK, but I can't seem to find the MMS Composer software anywhere on the EXEC.
TIA
Mike
Now that I know you can stop customizations be just doing a soft reset before they happen, I'm trying to pick and choose what cabs I want to install from the T-Mobile extended rom so that I just get mms to work properly (don't want too much customization). I thought I had it down to the four I needed, but I still get the problem that after a soft boot, mms no longer shows up in pocket outlook setup. Can anyone help on this? Below are the cabs I'm installing in the same order as the config.txt has them in.
MP_Customization_TMOUSA_Wizard(AKU2.x)_060615_noJa va.CAB (58KB) Configures ArcSoft MMS
MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.CAB (72KB) Adds MMS Inbox, Voice Tag control panel, Voice Dialing startup shortcut, ClearVue PDF shortcut, MIDlet Manager shortcut, Voice Speed Dial shortcut.
P_Generic_Conn_Settings.CAB (7KB) won't install for me; sets GPRS, MMS registry settings for T-Mobile
P_Other_Conn_Settings.CAB (4KB) GPRS, SMS registry settings

That's the page I'm in. Message in inbox can be highlighted but it will not open for me...
EDIT: meant to add this works fine for IE just not in Opera.
same problem here. I get logged on but can't click on the inbox. Does someone know the solution for Opera? (except IE).
i have the same annoying problem!
but then again, will stick back to IE for hotmails..
same here. I can't even log on or register my details through the touch flo tab. is there an apple rights type thing going on here?
Have you guys tried to open in another tab??
Grtz,
Degake
ive tried setting hotmail up throught tf3d and it allows the username and password, then it says settings found, please click next to continue, but as i do, it take me to mobile.live.com rather than the next step??
anyone know whats going wrong?
I had the same problem, so I did a back up, and a hard reset, to wipe everything, and when I came to set up my email hotmail account, it works just fine now.. I get the messages as they arrive..
so after the reset you were able to continue the registration and settings without it directing you to windows live page?
unless you enter an alternative email provider it won't let me enter settings manually
Yes. First I had the emails downloading to my phone, and showing in the inbox.. Then for some reason, I messed it up and tried to re set up an account, and every time I was being directed online to Windows live page..
I did a hard reset, not a soft reset.. It tells you how to do it on the HTC support page. That wipes everything off the phone, so make sure you back up any information or programs you want.
After I reset the phone , I tried my hotmail account again, and it works fine..
ok thanks very much. been reluctant to do the hard reset as its taken forever to customize and tweak to my liking. and that's just the shortcut menus.
here goes...
Hope it works for you like it did me..
and I kinda enjoyed tweaking mine and getting it set up again.
Good luck. let me know how it goes.
ive only just done a hard reset because i could install Framework 3.5, it there any other way to setup hotmail again, registry edit maybe?
also how do you get them delivered straight to your phone, a friend of mine who also has a HD says you have to manually sync.
did you guys know that you can set up hotmail into your mail tab now yeah?
to set it up, go to the mail tab > Menu > Accounts > New Account
when asked to enter your email address, enter your hotmail address, but with an error after the "@" sign. for example, if my email addy was "[email protected]", i would enter it as "[email protected]" (notice there is no "l" in "hotmail.com"). Enter your hotmail log-in password here as well.
Insert your name as you would like to appear on outgoing messages, and an account display name to show for your own navigation (mines is simply called "Hotmail", since i only use one hotmail account).
For the incoming mail server: pop3.live.com
Account type POP3
your username will be your hotmail email address (the correct version this time), and your normal password, as you would enter on the hotmail login page.
For outgoing mail: smtp.live.com
tweak other/advanced settings to your liking (and data plan - orange UK data plans suck).
Once you've set your account up, click on Start (top left corner) > Messaging > [your hotmail account] > Edit Account Setup. Now correct your emaill address that you originally inserted incorrectly, and continue pressing next till you get to the end.
Now your hotmail should be working fine.. no need to use opera at all

hi. I followed this advice from another thread which I can't find now.
but after I do all that and I go to Menu > Send Receive, there is an error in syncing and have to check my connection settings.
where am I going wrong?
in the process of backing up atm..
if your trying to do send/receive through TF3d, you can try doing send/receive through windows itself (i.e. go to start > messaging > hotmail > menu > send/receive)
see if that works. if it works fine, then automatic updates should work fine as well. I also get an error sometimes while trying to update via TF3D (only on hotmail), but it works fine if i do an update through windows.
phew! thanks for all suggestions so far. managed to set up using wifi. works perfectly.
problem is.. it only works with wifi.
when I attempt to send/receive through my t mobile connection it says I have to check my service provider etc. which I'll probably do tomoz
Hey guys, got a fun one for yaz.
So we have three HTC HD2's in our IT department here, but aside from me the other two guys are hessitant to flash their roms, understandable I guess, but I need to find an activesync solution for them so that they can use the exchange server here.
They are both stock telstra phones, on telstra plans.
Step 1
GPRS connection re-created (telstra.internet) with proxy de-selected
Step2
Configure activesync, install the cert from the server so as to avoid cert issues. (self generated cert)
Step3
failure
Now this same server and same user works fine with a Touch Pro2 from Telstra, with the same steps taken above, so I know the server is fine, or at least functional.
The problem with the HD2 with the Telstra ROM on it that I am having is on the last page of the server configuration for activesync where you go into advanced, under "Connection:" it says Dedicated, and if I change that to INTERNET, then save, it reverts back to dedicated again and again... how can I get it to stay on INTERNET (damn you telstra)
I have a feeling this may be a conspiracy to foce you to buy their email package... but yeah, I hope this can be worked around.
Shot in the dark, but poke around the registry and change it there?
There are HEAPS of posts re this .... so dont feel bad, you are not alone!!

OK. Found the solution to outlook exchange mail/calender not working.
When it is connected to WMDC you still cant get to all the settings, nor can you get to them from the mail setup ..... Grrr.
Go to MAIL tab, hit the bottom button for "Inbox" to go to std mail acct. Then select your outlook exch. mail from the dropdown at the top (using the "old" WM6 type interface).
MENU>> Tools (hidden off bottom of screen ) > Options .
Then select outlook mail , "Next" "Next" til the "server settings" screen which lets you select mail & calender etc. BUT ! In the "Menu" button there appears an "advanced" tab Select this & voila! The old "if there is a conflict" appears as well as "Connection". The lovely standard config utility has conveniently left this BLANK (for gods sake, how was it going to work with NO connection?). Then you can select "Dedicated" or "Internet" Select "Internet" & it works.... It does warn you that you may incur data charges as you are using an "internet" connection" rather than the "email" allowance your plan includes , but at least it works FFS.
Surely Telstra should have had one of these things running exchange server during testing. This should not be missed. Configuring something this simple should not really require digging thru the 300 pg manual (which doesnt really help anyway ? )QUOTE]
I also have the "This Network connect to the Internet" check box selected and a proxy server of 10.1.1.181.
It did work for me after 2 hours on the phone to Telstra ... and then I got sick of none of the apps tab or social tab working over wifi and generally the Telstra bloatware was annoying me, so I flashed a cooked ROM and am MUCH happier!!!
