Now that I know you can stop customizations be just doing a soft reset before they happen, I'm trying to pick and choose what cabs I want to install from the T-Mobile extended rom so that I just get mms to work properly (don't want too much customization). I thought I had it down to the four I needed, but I still get the problem that after a soft boot, mms no longer shows up in pocket outlook setup. Can anyone help on this? Below are the cabs I'm installing in the same order as the config.txt has them in.
MP_Customization_TMOUSA_Wizard(AKU2.x)_060615_noJa va.CAB (58KB) Configures ArcSoft MMS
MP-Shorcut-MMS1-Voice-CV-TMUS-060404.CAB (72KB) Adds MMS Inbox, Voice Tag control panel, Voice Dialing startup shortcut, ClearVue PDF shortcut, MIDlet Manager shortcut, Voice Speed Dial shortcut.
P_Generic_Conn_Settings.CAB (7KB) won't install for me; sets GPRS, MMS registry settings for T-Mobile
P_Other_Conn_Settings.CAB (4KB) GPRS, SMS registry settings

here are the normal tdc settings
the telmore would most likely be the same maybe with a different
mms server ip
i sugest you try and contact telmore for more info
Well. I've tried this guide, but I dont get the MMS option on the Today screen. I'm stuck - only having the "No unread messages" line. Any suggestions? Why doesnt the MMS option pop op on the Today screen?
well my qtek2020 have an item on the today screen just like that pdf describe at tdc's site i would asume that orange would have a program much like it
mms are not like sms and activsyncmails and normal mails
they dont pop up under messengers
my mms today screen item opens a program called mms composer made by arcsoft soware which handle the mms sending and recieving
Do you know where i can dl the software from? I think, thats what I need. I dont think Orange has included this sw.
This is how to do it:
1. Install the MMS application - download default_mms.zip and rename it to default_mms.cab. Then execute it on your M1000
2. Create a new Network - in my case it is called Telmore MMS
3. Create a connection for your new network.
Name: TDC MMS
Modem: Celluar Line (GPRS)
Access Point: mms
3. Start the MMS app and configure it to use the network Telmore MMS
I use different networks to avoid having to change the default modem each time I switch between MMS and GPRS browsing.
Regards
Michael
Thanks! I'm able to test it tonight/tomorrow. I'll post my results (luck ) with this one.
Just a newbie question. How do I execute the renamed .cab file?
cab files if renames can of cause be executed by you renaming them back to cab
if they are cab then using total commander give you the option run which execute and install the cab file in the process
After two weeks of having my Exec running in Basic Mode, I decided to try out Corporate mode as I had read that it would be faster. I hard reset and immediately noticed a massive speed difference. However, after I soft reset the device after entering Mobile web and wap settings for O2, the MMS account disappeared- all the settings were there in MMS configuration but the account was nowhere to be seen. Has anybody else encountered this or do people not bother with MMS? I think in the meantime, until I can find a solution I will have to go back to Basic mode which is defintely slower
Very grateful for any help,
Fin
This is the best news I have heard, I never use MMS, in Australia if your MMS get delivered your really lucky so I never use it.
I am going to change to corporate O2 Rom.
Well at least some good came out of me swearing at my phone for an hour!

Probably related to the WM5 'feature' where settings changes are lost if you soft reset within a few minutes of making the change.
I had exactly the same problem in corporate mode.
So I reinstalled ArcSoft MMS Composer, and then followed the same procedure required for installing MMS on Himalaya WM5.0.
I've detailed the relevant instructions after re-installing the MMS Composer:
1. Soft-reset
2. After this , go the messaging application. click on Inbox you should see a new account there called MMS.
If not click on Menu>Tools>New Account
Create a dummy email account (it doesn't matter what info you fill in, just make it up) but at the Account information select MMS as the account type and click next.
Then finish going through the account creation, again for the server information making anything up.
3. Once that is completed clock on Menu>MMS Configuration then click the servers tab.
I suspect, however, that re-installing the composer may not be nessesary, as it may be just the registry settings for the MMS composer which were lost, so I've attached the registry entry I think might get it back (MMS-part.reg) - when followed by the steps above and also the full registry entry (MMS.reg)...but this is just a thought - re-installing the program worked for me
Which of the CAB files on the Extended Rom will reinstall the Arcsoft MMS Composer. I am in the same boat, have hard reset to Coporate Mode but MMS is not setup. In the Messages section, I have MMS Configuration option under Menu, and the registry settings all look OK, but I can't seem to find the MMS Composer software anywhere on the EXEC.
TIA

can someone toss me this file..Im trying to use molski's lovely rom..Well I AM using it but I think I really screwed my internet settings. Wish I had xcelein's T-Mobile Network customizations before I tried to manually edit everything
I ended up reflashing the extended rom from Xcelein's 2.26 custom rom EXT_ROM fix.....tested the cab and it works GREAT. finally the MMS started working again. Since Molski didnt have a separate ext rom.exe available i just started from scratch and reflashed to his 30mb hotness!
so as of now I successfully loaded the t-mobile network customizations cab onto the molski rom because apparently it comes NAKED and without any internet settings.
My only gripe/issue is when you actually try and configure the settings it wont let you. When you go into MMS, and then go to the servers tab, you cannot select the T-Mobile MMS tab that's there. i tried to press enter and it either closes out of the program or just makes that circular thingy (like when you are copying and pasting and item). Very strange, just happy to know all my internet settings and MMS work perfect. I'm using the Palm sms threader but i left my MMS1 folder stock instead of changing it to MMS1.old. I'm letting the native program handle this one because no matter what I did I couldn't get the Palm threading app to send/recieve mms
I've searched all over but can't see a reference to this, so I suspect I'm missing something basic - sorry if that's the case!
I have an (ex) O2 XDA Mini S that has been unlocked and is running on Orange UK. This worked OK, but was slow and had all the O2 settings, customisation etc.
I followed the steps to hard reset and then stop any customisation and that worked fine. The unit now performs (and looks IMO) much better. I have set the Orange GPRS and MMS settings and (GPRS anyway) works fine.
Everything is synced up etc, but the one thing that is missing is an MMS "Account" - i.e. if I go into Messaging and choose "Switch Accounts", there is no MMS option (I get Hotmail, Outlook and Text Messages). I do have the MMS configuration option which I have gone through and set up.
I went to the ROM and ran the SmartDialing_enable_0915_signed and CAB-Shortcut-MMS1-JAVA5XX-VOICE-O2-31Oct05 cab files. This seems to have worked because I get the quick dialling and the Midlet manager has appeared, but still no MMS composer.
I don't want to run the full O2 customisation as I have no interest in running this with O2 and would have to change all the settings anyway.
Can anyone help with info or pointers as to what I may have missed to get the MMS option please?
TIA

Thanks - do you mean this thread?
If so then that seems to relate to settings, which is not my issue - I have the settings and have configured the MMS server, but can't see the MMS "account" in the messaging menu.
try to search MMS_Composer_Z.cab file on forum....i downloaded it from xda-developers but i cannot remember where...
Would someone be so kind as to tell me what the following do and if they work on the wing?
Inbox Menu Extensibility
JUVS HTC Network Plugin
Start Clean
smsdrfix
Managed Programs
Domain Enroll
These were all installed in a ROM I put on and I have no ideas here..
Inbox Menu Extensibility - gives you the ability to delete all and mark all as unread
JUVS HTC Network Plugin - isn't this the network wizard, don't have to manually configure your data plan info, it will do it automaticcally for you?
Start Clean - clears out the recent program list on reboot
smsdrfix - fixes your sms delivery messages
Managed Programs - you can manage programs
Domain Enroll - guessing its to log into a domain?
