For those of you that may be using freestyl I have built an alternative launcher called moGo. It's in an early beta stage at the moment so I'm looking for some people to give it a run on their device.
So far you need freestyl for it to work but in the future I may make it standalone. You can download it and see details at the freestyl forums.

Yes it is possible to use without the freestyl server running but you will not get missed call/SMS/email notifications. Also calling contact favourites will not work.

Yep. There is some documentation over at the freestyl forums. It's a nice bit of kit and the dev told me a new release with some new docs will be coming. I'm hoping this happens soon because the freestyl development seems to have died this year.
I personally need the server to do some extra things and it would be nice not to write the code for the whole lot. However I'm prepared to do it if it comes down to it.
Loaded this freestyl on a fresh clean rom and as with any flash program I have used for a cube or today screen whatever its just too slow. Even just switching into config screen or anything it seems kinda slow and after I ran it for a bit with some other things I started getting out of memory errors if I tried going back into config.
So I didn't get a chance to load your software sorry.
Thats partly why I built my own launcher. I'm only using the server part of freestyl.
Once you have started freestyl press and hold to open moGo as the launcher. The speed/memory issues will then be gone. I'm running it on my dog slow device!

They took their forums down some time ago when they announced the next release of freestyl (in line with flashlite3).
Any updates on this project or have you decided to discontinue it?

you cant beat Wisbar advance desktop, FANTASTIC!
I use it.
It is great, as it makes the icons very 'finger friendly', and you can quickly navigate to programs or system settings.
IMO, it really is the most practical plugin - not just looks good, but functional and easy to use
Now this is excately what I´ve been looking for!! Really great app! Finally an app that makes one hand navigation on the touch screen possible in a very good way! Really good, and I really really recomend it to everyone who has a pocket pc!

I have to agree that its a great piece of software, I have used the previous version and have just upgraded yesterday to the 2.1. I'm now able to uninstall the HTC home plugin and use this solely.
My biggest annoyance with it is that you cannot edit the website where you source the weather updates, however I have now installed SPB weather which enables me to specify my weather source.
Whenever I flash a new Rom I always make sure that this is one of the first programs added.

Interesting how this thread has been revived!
I'm often tempted to go for the HTC look, I like the large clock digits, but for functionality and ease of use I generally decide to stick with Spb.
Manindesert, what's your preferred ROM at the moment then?

I'm sitting at work shattered and dying because I spent last night trawling through the first 200 pages of 2.1 themes and development! The whole diamond theme thread for example was interesting, but the theme itself didn't appear till page 125 or something!
Lots of interesting stuff, but for every tweak or theme offered there seems to be a problem or issue that needs solving. I think I've decided I am too much of a "If it aint broken don't try and fix it" type of person for half of the threads. If anything went wrong with my phone, I would have to drop everything in my life until it was fixed!
All I'm debating now is whether to flash Fixinover's 3.4 lite rom as it apparently has a fix in it for the issue in Mary's Rom where the device code changes and passwords are lost after a soft reset. But I'm still resisting as there always seem to be extra reg edits and cabs to download after flashing a cooked ROM due to issues that people discover!
Program with transitions when a button is pressed.
I'm using wa2, flash and mortscript.
-I use wa2 to control the some system aspects
-I use flash instead of Wad.
- I use Mortscript to execute all commands, so that the commands can be changed after building the flash.exe. Images are not changable outside flash yet, but I'm going to try that later, so every image can be changed.

If i knew programming it would be nice I started making this a week ago, and it was really really difficult for me, because I didn't even know flash, and actionscripts for ppc was difficult to find and get to work properly.. like the sip command etc...

Well, iContact was my first app written in c for win32. And it was and still is difficult.
I started with similar to yours, in C. If you decide to try to redo your app in C i'll be glad to help.

This application is just a "semi" application. It will probably not work good on all devices, since I've implemented some commands that probably are specific for wm2003.
It's made in Flash, and Flash communicates with mortscript for all external commands (to open apps, import ram, change backlight, etc), except some "sip" commands and a few more.
The links to the apps can be changed through the mortscripts, but not the icons for now. I will try and research for a way to do it, but "flashplayer 7 for ppc" can only read normal jpg, so i'm not sure if it is possible. In worst case after I'm finished, I'll at least share the .fla file for tweaking, with some basic documentation.
You will also need a flash compiler that can build .exe files of flash files for ppc.

sorry... I'm pretty busy getting the mp3 player to work properly... it seems that the flashprojector has problems reading xml files outside the compiled .exe file.
I'm trying to get a workaround, but with my feeble actionscript skills it takes a long time...
(the thing is that the xml files is needed to add songs, and load mp3s... not the perfect way to do it but the only way to do it with flash...) I'll post more on this subject tomorrow.
Some bad news: since you have VGA resolution, and this uses qVGA resolution, it probably won't look good on your device. I will hopefully have an .exe compiled until friday.
Sorry to bring an old thread back. Can you narrow the/a application to just the animation of the opening and closing of applications for the ones that dont want the complete app but want the window animations?

That's the old version. A new video should be made to show the new items added like text keyboard, weather, news, apps, games, etc.
I've been very reluctant to use any methods that require using someone's personal server so I have been searching all over for a better method. I have finally found it! Its been successful for every town/city I've added. Here is the link to the process:

I suggest using my packages, as they're pretty much guaranteed to stay working, or use your own server as also described on that post. Don't be under the illusion that someone else's server isn't involved here... it is.
Things like this almost make me tempted to take out the old IP method completely before I move...

Just for the record, and just to clean this one up once and for all - you can't do this without using a translation server. Otherwise I wouldn't have had to write the one I did. Of course, there's nothing forcing you to use MY server, people are welcome to run their own, but there's no "easy fix" without one.
Hopefully next time someone "spots" something like this, they'll search and find this.

I tried that originally, but couldn't get it working. I be a Noob, and not a very bright one.
HHC was just so easy to use and gave the option to use custom (your server)or defult weather server.
Hope they come out with a new HHC that will work (fingers crossed).

hey did you read his post? he says all lock apps are unattractive. Apparently the Iphone lock looks waaaaay better than S2u2. I mean the iphone lock cant be customized so its waaaay more attractive than s2u2 that can look like anything.

Otherwise download the latest version of S2u2 it has a password mode. It locks everything but its the closest thing you will find. If you dont like the way it looks (i dont know why, since the application you linked to is hideous) you can always customize it

I have s2u2 i customized two different skins but what i am asking for is an "App Lock" So i can lock programs not a Device Lock
You can search all the App Locks for WM they are all unattractive or unstable
I have a touch pro and using the MightyROM 4.12

I have been searching for an application locker for WM6 too, but without success. I'm running an Xperia by the way...
Palm had AppLock, Symbian S60v3 has Advanced Device Locks, so what has WM6 got? Nothing as far as I can tell.
I'm not looking for something that is bombproof, just something to deter the casual observer. I'd like to specify which applications to protect, and when someone runs one of those applications it pops up a 'please enter password' request - enter the right password and the application launches, enter the wrong password and the application doesn't launch.
Then, if I give my phone to someone to play with, I know they can't go poking around at things I don't want them to see...but they CAN see the device in action for themselves...
I've never figured out why such a thing doesn't exist - I'd have thought it would be a popular thing to want...
I knows it so easy to develop a app like this with all the new apps out no one still havent made a good enough app lock
i just came accross this awsome OS for Windoes mobiles i have a O2 stealth and it works perfectly on my phone just some times it crashes and is lil unresponsive at times but i dont know if we can develop it or no

Wow, this is very cool!!
I got this to work on my Touch Pro. To run it click on the simpleos.exe once you unzip it. It took a few times to get it running with a few crashes, but now it boots everytime np. Once it boots, click only in the password box and it should boot right up. It crashes if you click anywhere else. Actually this software is very very cool. Very stable once you get it to boot. Not very finger friendly though. Almost seems like development has stopped, which is too bad.
Also notice there are multiple desktops with widgets ect. You can access from the shortcuts in the upper right corner. Unfortunately on the 3rd desktop it crashed.

I think it looks great to be completely honest. Maybe if someone were to develop on it, it might be a more feasable option than using the standard windows 6.0/.1 interface until 6.5 becomes a bit more stable.
Are there any developers out there that would be interested in continuing this project? I think its has great potential.
