Need help from expert here. Help me to analyze this problem. Before that, i have to explain the way i used my phones 1st.
I have 2 sim cards. i call it SIM 'A' and SIM 'B'
SIM 'A' - Maxis - used for normal voice call, sms etc
SIM 'B' - Celcom - data unlimited only.
To utilize this 2 SIMs, i use SIM 'A' on a PDA phone and SIM 'B' on a bluetooth enable phone.
To surf internet, i configure my PDA phone to connect to the phone with SIM 'B' via bluetooth.
In another word, i use the bluetooth enable phone as a modem only.
Okay, here is my problem.
Dopod 818pro connect to V3xx - no problem. Can surf up to 30min without being disconnected.
Dopod 838pro connect to V3xx - being disconnected all the time. Can't even surf more than 1 min.
Dopod 838pro connect with Sony Ericsson Z600 - no problem. Can surf up to 1 hr without being disconnected
The annoying thing is every time being disconnected, i must restart the v3xx in order to be able to reconnect again.
So, what will be the most possible problem?
Although both dopod 838pro and v3xx are still under warranty but it is very difficult to do the troubleshooting by both service center..

Does anyone have the code to invoke the send and recive command from the messaging. ie force the GPRS to re-connect. I have set the auto download emails every 1 minute but this is not reliable. I need to call re-connect as and when I send data.
XDA2 and XDA2i UK O2 connections.
Any help pointer etc appreciated.
would this work? i have lots of problems getting gprs to re-connect after its dis-connected sometimes. It really bugs me because this is the only phone ive ever had that can't always connect to gprs when its blatently available!
hi, I have kjam. I use the dialup networking via bluetooth for my laptop. After 5min of connection there will be no receive at all. I disconnect and try to make a call but no luck. I reset kjam, same problem. I use usb modem, still the same. I call ISP they said they don't have a problem. My brother uses edge with no problem(not kjam)
rarely kjam will connect correctly.
I have lastest english rom
Works flawless on my magician for hours.
M
oltp, did you use the DUN using wizard?
Well actually I'm using the USB modem dialler on my magician. So it's connecting via gprs. I'm on flatfee gprs, so haven't tried DUN.
What happens when you surf the net on your wizard, does it keep the connection alive?
M
I can surf internet perfectly in Wizard. The connection will not drop. But, If I use DUN and disconnect due to no receiving of data, I can't surf internet anymore in Kjam or even I can't make a call. So, I use a soft reset.
Strange! Today I've downloaded 1.2Gb files in 20hrs without losing connection.
Why sometimes it worked and sometimes it fails, is it a rom bug? or I have a hardware problem?
Pls help!
Oh man!
I tried Windows XP SP1. It worked for 2 hours then the same hell problem came again!!
I think I'll throw kjam through the window. :x
Maybe no body used kjam as a modem, so no one will help me
PLS HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am experienceing very slow GPRS/EDGE connection from my Qtek 9100 lately. The issue is so bad that I can't receive emails from our exchange server.
Imate Jam using my SIM received twice as much connection speed at the same location (I measured using ping...). On the other hand, I was not able to connect and receive emails using SIM card that worked perfectly with imate JAM (in terms of GPRS connectivity)
In addition, I could not get Edge to work although I know that it is supported by the network provider (HKLM\Drivers\BuiltIn\RIL\ EnableDifferGprsEdgeIcon is set to 1)
Connecting to the internet and browsing is also very slow.
Sync issue that I got when I tried to sync with Exchange server is "Server could not be reached. this can be caused by temp network condition" error code 0x80072EE2
Note that it was not as bad before and I could receive emails - i.e. exchnage configuration on my device is proper...
Help!

Slow GPRS Connection

Hello,
I just bought a SPV M3000 that I unlocked, find if really great, but have one major issue, I used to connect to Internet with a dial-up number with my Qtek 9090 and wanted to do the same with my SPV, but impossible, I configured everything correctly (even tried 2 different Internet providers), but nothing, the SPV just dial the number and then nothing happens, it just says after 1 minute appr. that the connexion is impossible and I should check my parameters...
Is there a correlation to the fact that I unlocked it ? Or is there an issue with my modem and if yes how could I check that my modem doesn't work ?
thanks for any info on it.
hello
i have a pc under xp running with an Dsl modem.

Actually i want to build my own ISP service, i read about a RAS connexion but i am not sure.

i think at least thats what my old motorola phone manual said
so using that to access the isp oldschool non grps way
the isp had to support to data gsm

i use a pocketpc and i read it is possible with pocketlance but i am not sure about the result in regards of the my objective (to be an isp provider for only myself) using poitn to point connection. any ideas?
I was thinking the same thing today after my broadband (lack of) problem. I am palnning to attemp something myself like this. I can tell you that it is possible and that I have in the past established a dial up connection from my ppc to my pc. It was using an audiovox rtm8000 gsm card, the gprs tool that came with it let me specify the number for gprs and when I used my home phone number to dial my pc with incoming dial up activated I was able to establish a connection and use terminal services client. This is not a practical permanent solution because the software expected the connection to behave like gprs, ie if it was inactive for a time it would quickly dissconect. I can get a telsta business plan (using my abn) that has 35c untimed calls so basically for 35c I could use my home internet unlimited - all be it at a very slow connection speed.
Yes it is possible to call a remote modem located on a windows or linux machine with a RAS installed.
However, to be able to tranfert datas, you need a data subscription in addition of your voice subcription.

That depends on where you are. Here (aus) every gsm sim I have bought had csd enabled on the same number for no cost. I have had friends who were required to use a different data number but thats a thing of the past here. Thats why I am shocked to find that Telstra disable csd on the roaming service they provide to 3(three) customers - I need it!
I would have thought it would be cheaper / simpler to "tunnel" into a machine using vpn having first connected to a gprs provider, as csd (data over gsm) is allways a charged call, despite many contracts saying inclusive free calls to local numbers (in the UK anyway)
