Ok here is what I have now.....
Work: Lotus Notes Domino Server (beyond secure no outside access unless I VPN)
Using WirelessMail for Domino
http://www.martinscott.com/home.nsf/pageview/WirelessMailCompare
this forwards my email to a free mail2web account which then is synced to my mobile.... great alll is well BUT
when I reply to emails they see my [email protected] address which puts me in violation of something.....
So what I have done is
setup my person POP3 account on the phone and on my website I have my reply to and from email alias as my work email
so here is how it works
recieve an email at work
WirelessMail for Domino pushes entire message to mail2web
mail2web configured on my phone so I get it immediately
when I reply I use my POP3 settings and reply
goes to my pop3 account and then gets sent to recipients (with work info)
Problem:
When I do the send it does a full Send/Recieve I don't want that because it takes so long I just want to send......
Is there a way to just send
hey all,
At work we have a pop3 server and because it's not visible to the Internet (mail gate server sat in DMZ) I'm unable to get my phone to pick up my work email directory from the pop3 server.
I've created a new googlemail account and put a forward on the pop3 server at work to forward a copy of all incoming mail to my new googlemail account.
I can then pick up my work mail by getting my phone to receive the googlemail account.
During the setup proceeder on my phone I managed to set the 'reply from' address to my work email address so when I reply to a mail I received through googlemail, the recipient can hit 'reply' and it will go stright back to my work address.
My problem is that if I send mail from my phone using the above system I have no record of that mail in outlook on my PC at work.
Is there a way to sync the sent items from my googlemail account on my phone to outlook's sent items on my work PC??
Cheers in advance guys
Hey
I use the Thunderbird client on my PC to manage my emails from 4 different accounts. The same four accounts have been setup on my DHD's email client.
I want to be able to synchronize the emails on my Thunderbird client with the ones on my DHD. As a result my DHD email client gets the update email list from all four accounts depending on my emails lying in my Thunderbird client. How would I do that ?
Cheers
MJ
Check out if your E-Mail Provider is capable of providing e-mail via IMAP.
With IMAP instead of POP your Mails are stored online (make sure that mails can be stored online for a unlimited time) + offline (if you like).
Thy will be synced at each login (or 5min or so, depending on the settings in your mail client).
I use IMAP with three e-mail accounts via two pcs, two notebooks, a tablet and, of course, my DHD (K-9 Mail)
I have four email accounts (google, hotmail, Univeristy, Work)
Googlemail can do IMAP.
So how do I set this up ?
So I was planning on using K9 in place of the stock email client but low and behold it appears that K9 and hotmail don't play nice together. I can only seem to get hotmail connected as a POP3 account. Does anyone know if there is any way to get K9 connected to hotmail as either IMAP or exchange?
I've tried manually setting it up as IMAP and Exchange with m.hotmail.com and m.live.com as the server with the default ports but nothing seems to be working.
Suggestions along the lines of forward mail to gmail, gmail is better, etc etc that don't involve K9 connecting to hotmail directly are not necessary. I know all of the other "options" but I need to either connect K9 to hotmail directly or not use k9 and stick with the stock email client (which I'm hoping I can switch to k9).
Well it appears that NO ONE has figured it out because K9 (and the paid Kaiten) don't support Exchange ActiveSync which newer versions of exchange and apparently Hotmail Exchange uses.
So anyone have another email replacement client that is as good as K9 that I could consider to replace the stock mail app? Requirements are the ability to connect directly to hotmail, a couple IMAP servers and a corporate Exchange server all at the same time with a unified inbox.
i was using gmail activesync/exhange for mail on my S3 for almost a year, but since upgrading to the S4 i can no longer add my gmail as exhange account (no longer can add new devices for gmail/exchange for free).
what are my options to get push mail now using exhange and the stock email client (which i prefer over gmail app). i heard about outlook.com, but i really didn't want to start using another email address. can i somehow use outlook for push mail and have my gmail go there? as of right now my only option is forwarding my gmail to outlook.
TIA
What is your main reason for using activesync? If its just for push then try k9 mail. Its free and one of the best email clients with push on android.
