Himalaya WM2005 not receiving SMS anymore - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Okay, i tried to flash my O2 XDA II with a WM2005 ROM yesterday.
Flashing it went without a hitch and it was all working fine, until someone from my MSN Contact List told me that he sent me an SMS and was asking why i didn't respond.
I told the person to send me that Message again, and after about a Minute i received a notification that there are unread Messages for me.
I click on the unread Messages with my Stylus, i'm taken to the Inbox for Textmessages, and there is NOTHING there... i double-checked the SMS-Settings to make sure that the Number for the Message Center is correct, and it was... but SMS where nowhere to be seen.
After i reflashed the XDA II with the original 1.72 Update from O2 again, i could also receive SMS again.
What did i do wrong ?
Should i have flashed a new Radio Version too, or was there something else i was missing ?
The ROM i used is called "XDA_WM5_3.50aWWE" and it was linked here in some other Thread for XDA II.

did you verify that the setting text message service center is the same on both roms
you can get to the setting using settings->phone->services-voice mail and text messages

yep, they were exactly the same, i also looked up the Number for the Message Center on the Web for my Provider, which is E-Plus Germany just to make sure.
I did not flash a new Radio ROM while flashing my Hima to WM2005, should i have done that ? and if yes: which one ?

donno i went to 1.19 when i moved to wm5 and now wm6
havent had any issues
people also report equaly good results with 1.18 and others

well, maybe i'll try that some other time... right now i'm not in the mood of flashing my Hima again
the thing that bugs me though... do i have to set anything in the Radio ROM File before flashing it to my mobile, or can i just go the usual way with the NoID-Flash Utility ?

no radio flash is just like a normal flash but with no rom file
a radio flash is don at the same flash as a rom flash if both files are present

thought so... i just had no incentive to update the Radio as i saw in some signatures here and on Buzzdev that People ran WM2005 with Radio 1.17.

Hi guys
I get the above error message every time I try to send an SMS message. I can make and receive calls without any issuses. I get the error message regardless of how strong the signal is.
I have tried reinstalling the O2 settings.
Any ideas or suggestions, please?
Thanks

Is it possible to see your sim contacts when usin sim manager?
I also had the same problem with imate official 1.72 ROM upgrade. This message comes if I go to setting -> personal tab -> phone and also if I click on sim manager under programs. I can get all the SMS but when sending SMS I got this problem.
Initailly thought it might have been due to post 1.72 upgrade restore from older sprite backup. But after hard resetting also it crops up.
Now went back to original 1.66.00wwe rom. That solved it. But I really want to try 1.72 any suggestions?

Hi

i was using ROM 1.52, then upgraded to 1.72. and I had this problem too, and if you even try to open the phone options, it would take a very long time to show u the option window. I donnu , but it seems there is a problem in the radio version in 1.72. I just downgrade back to 1.52 and it is ok.
Possible solution
A colleague of mine was experiencing this problem after he upgraded whereas I was fine with my custimized extended ROM. After a bit of trial and error loadig each cab from the extended ROM individually, soft resetting and testing after each one, he narrowed down the cause to the OEM_WWE_04042201.sa.CAB. I hadn't used this in my customized ROM.
NOT the 1.72 ROM is the reason of this failure!
Sometimes the Sprite Backup cannot restore all of the mailbox databases.
When you backing up or restoring your backup file, don't include the mailboxes!!
If you need to restore your mailbox, download the "CleanMail.exe" from the Sprite Software's home, and run it after the restore!
http://www.spritesoftware.com/downloads/CleanMail.zip
I think sprite has solved the mailbox problem in version 3.0. I wanted to test it out again So just reinstalled 1.72 and after 3rd or 4th hard reset the problem is back again prooving that the problem is not with sprite as i had not used the backup.
Any suggestions?
Has it got to do anything with particular sim or Provider?
I observe this problem, only in the written situation.
(After restore, remain a not deletable message in my drafts or outbox,
and the phone cannot send or recieve SMS.)
I'm using the 1.72 i-mate ROM, and I haven't some other problems.
If you use the 1.72 t-mobile beta, upgrade it the i-mate's 1.72!
I haven't more idea...

Can't send SMS ? 'Phone is not ready..'

hi!
i'v just upgraded to Qtek 1.72. and now i can't enter options at settings/phone & can't send sms messages. everything, like calls and sms reciving is ok! only thing that mda writes, is 'The phone is not ready. Wait 15 seconds and try again' ;((
any suggestions? thanks!
seem to recall that some people getting this problem if they restore with some version of spirit backup
thanks for reply.. but this is clean install. maybe flash another radiostack, can help?
this seems to be a SIM card problem ... try another one
If you have performed a restore from a backup that was created before you upgraded then this problem occurs (Happened to me)
Try a hard reset - should work.
If not reflash your XDA with the new firmware.

There is no reason I can see to risk a radio stack upgrade/downgrade.
kavalir, did you find an answer?? I have the same problem and already tried other sim and hard reset.
As you say it is only with sending an sms or trying to acces the phone option.
The same happened to me. Looking for help. Will try to rollback to last official O2 XDA II ROM. Changing SIM cards and hard-reset does not help.
Well, the answer was really simple - don't mix old customized extended Roms with i-mate 1.72 ROM. After installing clean i-mate ROM with its own extended ROM I could not send only first sms, then all went all right.

Help pls! Can't USPL or upgrade radio or rom anymore

I posted this in the general forum but after some consideration felt it may get more views/help here so I apologise for the double posting ~ ~
Hi,I have an xda orbit (O2 uk) and I ran the USPL super CID on it which went thru fine. I then did an OS upgrade from the official O2 website to WM6. However my phone wouldnt make calls or accept calls. The signal bars were initially low which made me suspect the radio not being optimum. Tried to upgrade the radio from 3.06.90 to 3.08 or 3.19 but it kept on giving an error 270 - file corruption, tried flashing to another rom and still the same error.I then tried to re -USPL it and even that wont take... Can someone please help me out with this as I am at my wits end to a solution...
ok...update so far...repeated the flash over and over again, Hard reset and moved the enable and cert rapi to the xda and ran them there first after taking out the sd card. finally it took after a few more atempts. I then ran artemis 20273 rom which flashed easily....HOWEVER even though the signal bars are still up I cant call out or receive calls. Dialling out ,the call disconnects immediately even before it rings (like 0.5secs after i hit the send key). If I call the phone I get a message that calls are not currently being connected to that number! (i know the sim cards working as its my main number) Anyways run uspl again and flash radio to 3.18...goes thru easily but still no calls in and out. Is there anyone with an idea as to the problem or solution.

What happened to MMS messages and HD2?

I've been trying to send an mms message since last night and a few minutes later, I get a message telling me unable to send message to xxxxxx and it just sits there in the outbox. I thought it may have been the notorious sms problem back again so today I sent myself a blank text and that worked. Then I sent that mms to another person and I got the same message - unable to send message to xxxxxx. I know it must be my phone but what exactly? If this helps, I am running OS 5.2.21869(21869.5.0.82), Manila 2.5.19211619.0, ROM 1.48.405.2 (71294) WWE, ROM date 11/18/09, Radio 2.05.51.05_2.
Also I was reading a thread made by geekyhawkes "MMS not working vodafone uk - help!", to try and solve this issue as Im on vodafone also and on page 2 of his thread there was a solution listed by xavierdemon. I was following those instructions and got to step 2 and powered my phone off. When I did, the screen turned off and then turned back on and showed me this....(scared the crap out of me). Can you explain what that is and why it came up?
PS after typing this, I just tried sending the mms again and this time it went through to both recipients. Whats happening?
are you on o2?

No mate, Im on Vodafone....im sure I mentioned it?...Yes I did.
I'd update to the latest ROM _Dee_ hopefully that will sort all your issues, that screen you posted looked like your phone was about to hard reset.
Do you have the Voda ROM? If so the update is here http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/firmwaredevice.php?ModelID=424&e=0
If it's not a Voda ROM, visit the HTC website and download latest ROM from there.

No phone or SMS

Hi,
Been using custom ROMS on my Hero since new with no probs. Last Thursday after receiving an SMS I am unable to make or receive phone call and txts. My mobile internet still works fine. When a phone call is made to my phone the caller receives a message that the number is no longer available, though if I switch the phone off the caller gets put through to my voicebox. My provider has confirmed that there are no blocks etc on my phone or account, this is also proved as when I put my SIM in another phone all works as usual.
I am using Villain ROM 12 and the latest radio. I have set the phone to GSM only, automatic etc. I have reinstalled the ROM wiping everything etc and have tried flashing different radios.
The only thing I can think to try now is to flash a stock ROM. Which would be best (its a UK orange phone) and will I then lose root etc.
Most probably though I fear the cellular chip is dead.
Any other ideas and which stock ROM should I try, oh yes I bought the phone of ebay new and unopened, will I be able to return it somewhere for repai HTC ???
Thanks for reading and for any help
Hmmm,... Strange one is this.
First thing I would try if I were you is to flash a generic ROM through your custom recovery,....
One from http://android.modaco.com/content/h...oms-radios-in-update-zip-format-for-gsm-hero/
Worth a shot,....
If you get the same result,.... Run an RUU .exe. This will unroot so if it is successful you will have to go through the whole rigmarole of installing a custom recovery again to be able to flash custom ROMs.
Dont know what else to suggest sorry.
Oh well, tried stock roms and still the same problem. Looks like it must be the pgones hardware.
Any one recommend a good repairer here in the UK
Cheers
