Hi guys
I get the above error message every time I try to send an SMS message. I can make and receive calls without any issuses. I get the error message regardless of how strong the signal is.
I have tried reinstalling the O2 settings.
Any ideas or suggestions, please?
Thanks
Paul
ROM 1.72.00WWE
Radio 1.2.00
Protocol 1337.21
ExtROM 1.72.104
Is it possible to see your sim contacts when usin sim manager?
I also had the same problem with imate official 1.72 ROM upgrade. This message comes if I go to setting -> personal tab -> phone and also if I click on sim manager under programs. I can get all the SMS but when sending SMS I got this problem.
Initailly thought it might have been due to post 1.72 upgrade restore from older sprite backup. But after hard resetting also it crops up.
Now went back to original 1.66.00wwe rom. That solved it. But I really want to try 1.72 any suggestions?

i was using ROM 1.52, then upgraded to 1.72. and I had this problem too, and if you even try to open the phone options, it would take a very long time to show u the option window. I donnu , but it seems there is a problem in the radio version in 1.72. I just downgrade back to 1.52 and it is ok.
Possible solution
A colleague of mine was experiencing this problem after he upgraded whereas I was fine with my custimized extended ROM. After a bit of trial and error loadig each cab from the extended ROM individually, soft resetting and testing after each one, he narrowed down the cause to the OEM_WWE_04042201.sa.CAB. I hadn't used this in my customized ROM.
NOT the 1.72 ROM is the reason of this failure!
Sometimes the Sprite Backup cannot restore all of the mailbox databases.
When you backing up or restoring your backup file, don't include the mailboxes!!
If you need to restore your mailbox, download the "CleanMail.exe" from the Sprite Software's home, and run it after the restore!
http://www.spritesoftware.com/downloads/CleanMail.zip
I think sprite has solved the mailbox problem in version 3.0. I wanted to test it out again So just reinstalled 1.72 and after 3rd or 4th hard reset the problem is back again prooving that the problem is not with sprite as i had not used the backup.
Any suggestions?
Has it got to do anything with particular sim or Provider?
I observe this problem, only in the written situation.
(After restore, remain a not deletable message in my drafts or outbox,
and the phone cannot send or recieve SMS.)
I'm using the 1.72 i-mate ROM, and I haven't some other problems.
If you use the 1.72 t-mobile beta, upgrade it the i-mate's 1.72!
I haven't more idea...

i'v just upgraded to Qtek 1.72. and now i can't enter options at settings/phone & can't send sms messages. everything, like calls and sms reciving is ok! only thing that mda writes, is 'The phone is not ready. Wait 15 seconds and try again' ;((
any suggestions? thanks!
seem to recall that some people getting this problem if they restore with some version of spirit backup
thanks for reply.. but this is clean install. maybe flash another radiostack, can help?
this seems to be a SIM card problem ... try another one
If you have performed a restore from a backup that was created before you upgraded then this problem occurs (Happened to me)
Try a hard reset - should work.
If not reflash your XDA with the new firmware.

There is no reason I can see to risk a radio stack upgrade/downgrade.
kavalir, did you find an answer?? I have the same problem and already tried other sim and hard reset.
As you say it is only with sending an sms or trying to acces the phone option.
The same happened to me. Looking for help. Will try to rollback to last official O2 XDA II ROM. Changing SIM cards and hard-reset does not help.
Well, the answer was really simple - don't mix old customized extended Roms with i-mate 1.72 ROM. After installing clean i-mate ROM with its own extended ROM I could not send only first sms, then all went all right.
Dear all,
Mine device using Softbank X01HT and has been flashed to wm6.
Recently, my device got full signal receiption but can't make any incoming or outgoing call (95% can't), the screen will display wordings like "Operation Failed".
I have tried to
1) Reflash the device to unofficial or official english rom
2) Reflash the radio part to 1.41 or 1.43 or 1.47
3) Change to any other SIM card
but problem still occur.
Do anyone got solution/hints for my problem?
thanks a lot.

I have exactly the same problem and have tried the same solutions and some others. The problem seems to be increasing each day. Every morning, the phone shows No GSM while booting and it gets stucked when I try to make a phone call or establish a data connection (no matter if I just flashed a new radio the night before). The funny part is that some times it works Ok. I need to do several resets to get things going, but the whole thing is getting really annoying.
¿Anyone has any idea? PLEASE!! I´ve read TFW very carefully and haven´t found anything related to this problem.
Okay, i tried to flash my O2 XDA II with a WM2005 ROM yesterday.
Flashing it went without a hitch and it was all working fine, until someone from my MSN Contact List told me that he sent me an SMS and was asking why i didn't respond.
I told the person to send me that Message again, and after about a Minute i received a notification that there are unread Messages for me.
I click on the unread Messages with my Stylus, i'm taken to the Inbox for Textmessages, and there is NOTHING there... i double-checked the SMS-Settings to make sure that the Number for the Message Center is correct, and it was... but SMS where nowhere to be seen.
After i reflashed the XDA II with the original 1.72 Update from O2 again, i could also receive SMS again.
What did i do wrong ?
Should i have flashed a new Radio Version too, or was there something else i was missing ?
The ROM i used is called "XDA_WM5_3.50aWWE" and it was linked here in some other Thread for XDA II.
did you verify that the setting text message service center is the same on both roms
you can get to the setting using settings->phone->services-voice mail and text messages
yep, they were exactly the same, i also looked up the Number for the Message Center on the Web for my Provider, which is E-Plus Germany just to make sure.
I did not flash a new Radio ROM while flashing my Hima to WM2005, should i have done that ? and if yes: which one ?
donno i went to 1.19 when i moved to wm5 and now wm6
havent had any issues
people also report equaly good results with 1.18 and others
well, maybe i'll try that some other time... right now i'm not in the mood of flashing my Hima again
the thing that bugs me though... do i have to set anything in the Radio ROM File before flashing it to my mobile, or can i just go the usual way with the NoID-Flash Utility ?
no radio flash is just like a normal flash but with no rom file
a radio flash is don at the same flash as a rom flash if both files are present
thought so... i just had no incentive to update the Radio as i saw in some signatures here and on Buzzdev that People ran WM2005 with Radio 1.17.
hey, i have a problem with my htc elf. it keeps loosing SMS mesages, any one else had this problem ? i did a fast search on this forum and found at other phones that they had some problems with radio versions, any one can confirm upgrading radio it's ok ? it hapens moustly when the phone its connected to the pc... thanks i'l come back later with more details gota run to work

Hello All,
I upgraded my EXEC to WM6 with the ROM of lucathebig. I did not upgrade the radio rom.
I don't know how it happened but, every time I switch it on, even without the sim card in, I can't access the phone settings! Or even the dialpad for that matter.
When I click on the signal icon, the balloon comes on but says "The phone is off"
When I tap settings nothing happens.
Please note that it was working a couple of days ago. I reset it to factory defaults but nothing happened.
Has anyone else got any suggestions? I will try to avoid flashing the ROM again and I'll keep it as the last option.
Update:
I noticed that there's no Radio version or IMEI on the system information on my phone so I figured that the radio got corrupted or something like that.
I tried to flash the Radio but i get the 114 error from the upgrade tool.
I tried all sorts of different upgrade tools with different radio version but none of it worked...
I am now downloading the official O2 update Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v113188.exe and try to install this instead to see if it fixes the Radio.
Has anyone found a solution for the 114 error? I have read tens of posts but can't seem to fins anything that helps. The people who solve it, use different versions of the update tools or they remove the USB hubs or try the upgrade 3 times.
Help ..?
I tried O2 update but the upgrade executable gave me a country ID error.
So I took the WM ROM and the Radio Rom from the zip file and tried to upgrade both but on the the WM ROM was updated. The Radio rom still gives me an error when I try to Flash...
Ohhhh this is so dissapointing.....
