Hi,
I just wondered how a flow effect would run on the PocketCM Framework, so I implemented this, this is just a test, it as no real useful purpose, it may evolve and be part of ImageViewer, but no guarantee.
It runs pretty decently (around 30 fps) on my 200Mhz Touch, a lot faster than the other implementation I tried, I have no idea on other device, so tell me!
(as always, to quit, it the top right part of the screen, to move back to folder list, tap the top left part).
Update to test 3
- Fixed repositionning bug after sliding to start/end of list
- Antialiased rendering (look a lot better, at the cost of a few FPS).

Update to test 2
- reflection effect
- inertia: like in contact list, move fast, release the list goes on
- better rendering of borders
- some perf improvement
I've added an information on the screen, the time required to render a frame and the approximated FPS, if you could give me some feedback about what you get on your device?
To install, unzip on your device, and run the exe from file explorer.
Enjoy, feel free to comment, but remember it's a test
stick with it - looking good
also, have a think about a today launcher to match
and unlike the iPhone - it works in portrait
I like it 10 times better than Pocket Flow the UI isnt the best but yet again its only a test... please continue to develop...
As usual I'm amazed with your work... all pocket cm frame software including this flow test show one thing... talented programmer. Love simplicity of your soft... no weird installation, works fast and the best thing... works perfect from SD! Keep up fantastic work - incredible potential in it.
Wow! Fantastic! Definitely keep this one going...
looks good.
zoom fit to window, a nice background and a few buttons and it's golden.
Blazing fast!!
Amazing ! It's really fast on my Himalaya (a lot more than PocketFlow). Just add zooming, hardware buttons, and a bit of ui, and it will be the best !
Could it be possible to have only some folders appearing in the menu, to filter them ?
Thanks and keep on !
Works great and fast on my prophet!
Great work as always. You know, with the speed and reliability of your applications, I think you are one of the few people who could take something like this and turn it into a very cool and useable animated launcher similar to HTC Homeplug. Instead of pics there are weather, contacts, app launcher, etc. Just a much cooler way to "flow" through them rather than tapping tabs or flipping cubes etc. Might end up being something like the "swith between windows" function on Vista. The ability to add user-configurable content pages to the "stack" and including running programs would make it the perfect app!
Well if we talking about great possibilities 7 ideas...
What about creating a finger friendly Calendar program.. flicking through the dates...
Somink we all need...
MM
PS WOW Great work Tene, this thing is so fast!!
Supa Great
Congrats Tene (Tu es vraiment le meilleur....)
It's been months that I wait for an decent image viewer (Byka's, PictureFlow, S2V, HTC album...) but yours sounds for real!!! So Pz make this Picture Flow a great image viewer (zoom, bigger size...)
Merci du fond du coeur...je suis pret pour un don!
idea to share ... why dont make it pocketCM not scrolling but flipping
but then if ur ctcs r more then 200 it would b a fuss eh ....
Very nice! Interesting result on a 240x240 device... everything was correct, except every image was rotated 90 degrees counterclockwise. No idea why...
Also, at the end of the pictures was a bunch more objects that could be scrolled through as if they were pictures, only it was a bunch of text objects. Like they were pictures, only they said \my docmuents\... and stuff. Was this meant to happen?
Lookin' great though!
I am surprised at how smooth this thing runs, it runs faster than any app on my phone! Literally! You are a genius for making such a wonderful framework, and i cant wait to see how you incorporate the actual image viewing into this little app.
Works Great! .. few suggestions..
*Need ability to Zoom to Fit Window
*I can only zoom in on the first photo.. cant zoom in on the rest..
*Image quality needs to be improved when zoomed..
*Maybe add add the ability to navigate through folders (ie.. like S2V)
but otherwise.. this is Genius!
from a designer`s point of view I'm missing the reflection at the bottom of the pics, which looks awesome in PictureFlow and iPhone`s Coverflow.
Félicitations, mon cher compatriote ;-)
The app works well on my WM5 HTC P3600.
asus p535 quits after folderview refreshed
i start the program, start to fill a list of folders, and it immediately exits. if I enter a folder quickly, I see the first frame of the flowview, but the program also exits. it seems to me, that exit occur after the folderview refresh.
I tried without SD card too...

so I got my Jasjar and I'm pretty happy with it so far, however I keep looking at the Treo and wondering if it would be easier to check my mail and calendar with one hand instead of opening the Jasjar with two hands, waiting through the windows mobile slowdown, etc...
on a Treo you have the calendar button right on the face and you can navigate with the direction pad, etc...
the Jasjar it seems a little clumsy to me for this... any ex-Treo owners out there care to comment ?
Also, can we use the Jasjars direction pad for application shortcuts like that ? like press left for calendar, up for email, etc...
any thoughts and ideas ? thanks !
Bump...
is no one else concerned about this ?
Surprise me !
Don't know if buttonmax is compatible, but i think it's the only app that allows you to reconfigure the direction pad.
Re the calendar, just remap record key to calendar etc?
I use SmallMenuPlus, so can do pretty much everything one handed, although requires a couple of taps down to launch the app.

What a busy today page! Any chance of a rundown of what you have running on there?

I'm using my ToggleStart and ToggleNew hacks (=ToggleToday) to remove the top and bottom bars and a custom colour theme using cetuner, then from top to bottom:
-PhoneAlarm (with a skin I made, here on the board somewhere)
-AlarmToday (I resource edited the dll to change its appearance, but it's not shown here)
-WeatherPanel
-VJTodaySpacer (unreleased spacer plugin, coming soon!)
-VJEphemeris
VJEphemeris is not tidied up yet: this is my old setup
VJEphemeris was written to replace VJAudioNotes(at the top), QOTD (in the middle) and claunch (at the bottom), so I didn't want it to take more space. Eventually it will take the whole screen and be spread out more.
Quoting from here
I've posted a little elsewhere about my plugin, VJEphemeris, which is a long term work in progress.
Thus far it contains an analog clock, date with popup calendar, alarm clock setting and notification (cus you don't bloody know when it's set and on!), Quote of the day, autosizing according to length, missed call notification, last sms details, temperature, volume control, battery status, current phone operator (for dual sims), multi-bank launcher facility and theft protection (detects if user is using a non authorised SIM, and then sms's me with the phone number (and shortly, cellid), permitting me to sms it back causing it to format the sd, optional hard reset and I'm considering optional bricking - thanks Olipro).
That's the basic version I use currently. I've got tonnes to add when I finish a bit more stuff for release for you lot!
VJEphemeris is a continuous test bed of ideas I'm trying to implement. It's unlikely to be released, or at least as is. It's currently entirely customised around my use (although it's all too damn skinnable: I haven't gone into designing a UI yet, I'm just making it easy to use one thumbed! Try cutting out the screenshot and see how you thumb rests naturally on the important stuff. I'm trying to make it nicely ergonomic).

francorg: I released a prerelease of VJAudioNotes to a few people, but it's been replaced by VJEphemeris. I'm not really releasing either for quite a while (if ever!). Too much to add to it to finish it right now, it's a continuous Work In Progress.

Sounds good, I'll take a look at some of those! Thankss!
UPDATE:
No, this projects not dead, just been extremely busy with work.
All menu items will be configurable!
Links and images will be uploaded shortly.
A flash file made from LG prada screenshots.
The clock moves and most of the menu works. i Havent completed it yet, and there are not animations yet, please try it out and tell me what you think, some of the links may not work on your phone as i may have different file names, if you do i will be more than happy to change. so just test on your phone and see what works and what doesnt.
UPDATE:
New startup screen
contacts now had pocketcm and icontact as a option
IMAGES :
LINK : http://www.mediafire.com/?50dy57fnnt1
Please note, put the Prada folder in your root file, and link startup.swf to a button, or put in your startup folder.
Please give feedback.
Its a fun little toy but isn't really useful at the moment. Can't do a single thing with anything that uses a dial pad on screen and none of the ok buttons work for me.
yeah its just a concept, but would people actually use this if i had to develop it more, with the new flash just around the corner nothing would be impossible, but i want to know if people would use it, that is its basic purpose if people do like it i will further it and make it able to send sms, and make calls etc...
i'd use it
thank you
it s beautifull, thank you good job
Keep on going
Nice "flash lite" programme.
Is anything configurable?
Only 1.2% CPU Usage, the cube from ByKa takes up to 70% of CPU Usage and drains the battery.
Continue the good work
Prada Interface
Can,t wait to see the fnal product. I like the dark theme you have going for it. If I were you I would give it a flash and style animatable icons and movable icons. I see where you are going though...

Not sure if I'd use it much (iPhone gui makes things way to easy to access ) but I would use it to show it off. Seems simple enough for others to fully rely on fully and is graphically pleasing.
if it will work with a magician, i would use it! love the simple graphics...
Oh yes, if it really worked I would use it. It looks great, much better than iPhone wannabe skins. I have to admit I do currently use an iPhone skin because it's simply usefull. I like the Prada style much better though.
a counter for missed calls and sms would be cool! the first screen reminds me at this:

this program kicks ass. so much more of an experience rather than just a skinned launcher. keep it up. *subscribed*
ok so i have started developing more. If youve tried it you would of noticed that the signal bar and the battery meter show your phones status, ive done the calculator, the dial pad and almost finished the send messeage and mms. You can either use the given on screen keyboard or your own, will keep you guys updated. Thanks for the support
wow, sleek'n sexy(i mean screens on 1st page)...
joshuawittstock,
the interface looks great. is there a way we can change the destination of the menu items . . . such as, contacts opens icontact or pocketcm.
ok , well almost done i linked menu's to different apps, for e.g when you open phone book it will show you a menu asking whether you would like to use icontact, pocket cm etc... are there any special "requests"? ( things that you would like to see in this project? ) im also planning todo a rss reader. thanks
hm... it should work with wm2003... what about a button for backlight? or some space for a weather plugin on the today screen?
can´t wait to try it!
dial pad
are you going to create a flash dial pad or are you going to link it to cprog? i can't wait for the final product.
extraducksauce, i am going to create a dialpad in flash identical to the one found on the LG prada. im also going to be release 'test' models to see how it works on everyones phone, i would like somebody with wm 2003 please try the first link out and tell me if it works... im having a bit of a problem with the writing a message. so i wont release that just yet.

Look very nice.. downloading...
Installing... Let's see...
Hmmm...
Good scrolling, nice skin, smooth animation.
What else.. support many languages..
It has profile selection..
Well..
Too bad it's not free...
where is the original web address mate?
Thanks for info..
Yes this is a good application but, why it isn't a plugin today launcher.
That will be good when we turn on the pocketpc we arrive direclty on the screen with hour and lock.

put it in startup folder
pro:
- nice interface good scrolling e clear view
- nice the real clock with second even if it could be not so readable in day light (in the "action" menù it should be visible a digital clock or a more readable analogic clock)
con/desiderata:
- too many icon to scroll (all the apps and the settings) may be better if you can minimize the program and the setting list in vertical folders.
- nice interface it would be great if with a 2.0 release, dial, contact and messaging are integrated.
- with trinity and lasagna WM6 3.05 some problem with activesync, dunno if the same with other device/OS.
- does'nt display battery charging and sincronizing
- lack of usefull shortcut (music player, weather, or favorites call number)
- some problem with lanscaper/portrait switching
- no theme selection capabilities
- it could be great if you can choose from vertical or orizzontal kind of scrolling apps and setting (imo the orizzontal scrolling (like a book way) its quite bit more natural)
- check the sms/email/mms behaviour of the interface when system is Locked; When receive an sms or a mail the screen, should be locked even with the notify displayed if you want to interact you should unlock screen.
This is Quality Application! Makes my Touch look more like a mobile... kewl...
I agree with Dodba : this software needs a GUI messaging and calls.
Me finks the guys over at pocketcm.com will be interested in this!

Not Bad
This is a nice app I like the look of it. This is a trial version though a license cost 19.95.
Has anyone tried to Skin this?
I've located the skin files on the install directory, but had no success.
They are .bmp but I can't seem to open them or edit.
Nice app.
Is it skinnable? Any htc touch screen?
I think this is a great start and hopefully it continues to see updates because right now it works well, but a little more customization and organization would be nice. Having just every single program and setting link roped into one giant long page that takes 3 minutes to scroll down just isn't for me right now. I imagine if a version 2 is released that addresses the ability to organize it better i'd be all over that for 19.99
well.. skin masters!.... a htc touch skin for this??
The Time/Lock Screen must also show the next appointment. Then it would be perfect.

with you there!
Also a weather app would be nice!. not sure wether there is one or not but a slide to lock as well as unlock would be great! another thing that would be nice is a bounce back back to the top of the screen after a predefined time five seconds perhaps?
ouch! slows down horribly when running htc audio manager in the background! thats on my vario 2 with four programs in total running (including phone which it wont turn off!?) and with 8 meg of program memory spare and 11meg of storage mem on the phone.
Yes wecan skin it !
Just have to edit shell.bmp in photoshop (the other bmp file is for the about page) and save it in the same format. fushia color is for the transparency.
Only one default when changing backround to white to grey (for example) there is no icon transparency It's so ugly...
May attempt to have official skin or a pro
Its the same editing for Vito FunContact.
Some stuff are missing:
- What to do
- Calendar
- Weather
but it's a good start, keep working
Battery
I just LOVE this application...
BUT: it's a real battery-eater !
Cheers

I like it, but the lock feature isnt very usefull. When device is put to sleep with the powerbutton... screen is off

COMMENT IF YOU FIND ANY BUGS
Not realy any bug but it's just too slow.
Well not slow but it lags, I have like 0,5sec delay from pressing the key to actual sound. Also I would love to see a layered sound engine so that it can handle multiple samples at one time.
Sorry, try closing background apps. .NET is not meant for this type of software.
hi there,
just downloaded and played around with it for a while.
- is there any possibility to play more than one note at a time?i don't mean the touchscreen-wise way but the duration of the current sound being played: it just stops when you press another key without fading out or anything like that.
- you could make the keys larger by removing the two double C's at the right side of each octave and scaling down the application's title. would be much more comfortable to play with fingers then.
but nice work so far...been searching for such a thing for quite a while!
Thanks for downloading.
1. Yes it will be better in next version I'm experimenting with fmodce
2. Maybe.
Works fine with HTC Universal - WM6.1
But, the speed of reaction is a problem for me, cannot playing fast on the piano
thank you very much it's cool tools or game lol
OK I will try to fix delay problem in next version.
Nice
Nice work.
Speed is a bit of a problem, but I like it.
http://mobilespoon.blogspot.com
I see over 500 downloads but no one is commenting .
I love this app its gr8 but like evryone else i wuld say speed shuld be improved a little bit.....
Nice project man. I like guitar sound and it´s cool. Only problem..delay posted for users. No apps in background. Installed in Mio A701 (WWE 6.1 optimized, 520 Mhz, just flashed and light).
Thanx for your work
Frank
, it s cool logiciel
problèm: no speed , sound... thank again
Cool app! Thanks for the effort!
Now what I really need is a music teacher to teach me how to play
Looks great!!!
Trying now, and thanks for share
Cheers
Mozillaxom
Niceeee! Finally you got the update out Was waiting anxiously for this! But why didn't you make the octaves variable? 2 Are still kinda few for playing real piano...well anyways thanx alot!
Nice!!!! Speed is only problem...
Congratulations on the program. I´m having speed issues too. My PDA: Axim X51v (624MHz), WM6.
Besides the speed lag issue, there´s also another: when I press a key it stops the sound of a previously pressed key, wich is annoying.
Try to solve these problems and this will be the best Piano/Guitar/Drums/Violin program ever made to PPC.
Thanks! Will try this on my Qtek 9100.
Thanks for comments. I ll try to make it polyphonic.
Hi,
Here is a small application which uses the accelerometer and draws a small graph. It uses the g-sensor managed DLL from Koushilk Dutta (and you'll need the .Net Compact Framework 3.5 to run this on your Diamond)

Here is the CAB : SeismoCAB (61KB)
Edit: 20th sept. version 0.12 of my Seismosaur detector
zoom in/out with nav button (circle clockwise / counter clockwise)
close button
screen should not turn black while Seismo is running
now the scale is inverse tangent like
Have fun (though fun won't last for a long time with this )
PS: and I already know that this is silly and useless, and ugly...
nice tnx. downloading now.
(the best GODZILLA detector there is XD
Thanks in deed... I was just looking forward for this thing... Pencil is a cute user interface
Just a couple of question or feedback let's say:
-- The seismo in iphone was much more sensitive than ours... Even somebody's walking in the room was enough to disturb needle. Is it all about hardware? The response of accelerometer?
-- This lovely program is only deviating in "normal direction to screen" as far as i observed... I haven't seen a real seismograph, but is it always the case? Or should it react against the "resultant acceleration of three directions"
Thanks for the program...
Great APP, I've waited long for Seismograph for Diamond.
However it would be nice to:
1) change the pencil with the proffesional needle image?
2) make it more sensitive (or let us choose the sensitivity ),
3) prevent the screen from fading when the APP is running,
4) add some sound?,
5) add the possibilty to save the session,
6) maybe add the Richter scale meter somewhere underneath?
Heh, a long list, but I hope it will help to improve the APP
Haha... Love it!

I'm not sure about the sensitivity, maybe it's the scale i've used (a logarithmic one may be needed, as the iPhone version has)... I'll try some adjustments... but i'm not trying to compete with the iPhone version here nor the results can be compared. iPhone's Seismometer measures some "energy" and not the raw acceleration. Maybe they square it or they integrate it, i don't know...
You are also right: I'm only measuring "up and down" accelerations. It could also use the norm of the vector if you think that it makes more sense.

Here my ideas for processing of raw data coming out of port:
1- As you've suggested, a log scale may let you magnify the result. Actually it will not magnify but it will let the output be scaled on a narrower band (visually). it means you will have a bigger space to plot data's. So you can increase the output by some constant (multiply with 10 let's say), or even maybe take the cube of the output (taking square will cause problem because negative results will turn into positive then) So we can see even the very small disturbances. and since you use log scale, big oscillations will also not be problem, they will nicely fit on your log scale.
2- Secondly norm of the vector seems like a better idea. Because we're not looking for something scientific or something based on real scales, you can use a resultant vector. The users only want to see the movement of your pencil in any case of disturbance. So sqrt(x'2+y^2+z^2) will be a more useful raw data output just before multiplying with proportional constant and scaling on log paper.
One more time thanks for your effort....
Very very very cool.
thanks very much for your time and effort
Highly appreciated.
works flawesly no probs with sensitivity HR...try to put Dia od table and you will see some vibrations even without any "seismic activity: so maybe appreciate option to stabilise common distorsions caused by HW such a very small iregular deviations...but leave to measure also this small distorsions so to do some switch...but very very amazing app...
I hate iPhone and iPhonemania but its good inspirations for all WM community
Very nice app.
Some suggestions
-exit button
-You can also do this with sound (decibel meter?)
-scale option
-real needle image
Great work so far thanks
Thanks for your feedback and suggestions, I'll try to improve this draft - I did not spend a lot of time on this as you may have guessed
I'll try first to change the scaling, find or draw a "needle" picture and have an exit button.
Stay tuned...
I was finishing my seismo program last nigth but you got ahead

Hi Ikari,
I had seen the thread where you said that you may code something, but at this time my small Seismo was already on its way...
Of course I'll post my C# solution on this thread this evening/night (European time too) when i get back home and have 5 free minutes
Feel free to use it!
where I can take .net 3.5??
==> .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable
To Ikari - and all those interested - here is a link to the current zipped solution (VS 2008):
SeismoMeter.zip (696 KB)
The few interesting things are in SeismoMain.cs...

really cool app. kudos from me
several small questions - would it be possible to somehow save the data / the graphs?
and it'd be cool if the device didn't go to sleep after the wm-preset time...
Very nice one.. I wouldt be nice to save the graphs and for example put the phone on the table and If your girlfriend/wife took it for a few moments then put it back.. you can see that ... just an ideea
Nice app!
What to add a fullscreen mode ?
