hello all,
i am looking for the registry entry (or any fix) to enable the Repeat checkbox for Voicemail Notification Alerts.
I am aware of phonealarm, but do not want to use it...
Why in the world is this option greyed out anyway!!
Thanks
I'm looking for the same thing. My old Sanyo phone repeated voice mail alerts, and I would like this on my mogul as well.
Check out Jason Langridges blog - blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan
Last month he blogged about a solution his colleague came up with for this.
Its a reg hack which enables this greyed out option.
I found it. Here it is -
http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonlan/arch...curring-audio-notification-of-new-emails.aspx
Thanks Chris, I'll try it tonight. The comments say it doesn't work though, but I guess it's worth a shot.
I have been using Jason's fix - it did enable the checkbox, but its been hit or miss, alert working sometimes and not others...
anyone have more info?

I'm thinking it's greyed out for a reason..enabling it on mine causes mine to repeat the alarm in an infinate loop even after I've acknowledged it...finally forcing a soft reset.

I have gone to Notifications/Messaging: New e-mail message, and unchecked the box "Display message on screen." But I still get a notification message on the screen whenever there is an email. How do I stop this? (I've already searched this forum and could not find the answer, although I've seen the question asked before.)
just going to bump this up i have this issue also
yup, same here!
The more annoying one for me is the SMS sent notification.
What OS/ROM are you people using? I have never had this issue with any of the stock or WM6 ROMs I've used.
As for the SMS Sent notification, there are myriad apps that you can use to disable this. SK-Tools is one, but it's not free. HTweakC also has this option, and it is free, but you need to register with the DL site in order to get it.
If you have a Reg Editor, you can set it yourself with the following excerpt from the Wiki:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]
"SMSNoSentMsg"=dword:00000001 ->0 to enable, 1 to disable.Note ... the Wiki page I'm referring to is here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry

And it also has information about, and a link for HTweakC.

[EDIT] As an afterthought, I realized that I DO have phoneAlarm installed, and I believe that I get better control over the notifications with that tool. Maybe this is why I don't experience this issue? [/EDIT]
Pvs, thanks for your reply. I have a Cingular 8525. It has had this problem from the time of original purchase--two months ago--using the stock configuration that comes out of the box. I recently upgraded to the new ROM on the HTC website, but I am not using WM 6 or anything like that. I still get a notification message on the screen whenever there is an email, even though I have unchecked the box "Display message on screen" under Notifications/Messaging: New e-mail message.
@Tim1234: FWIW, I used Sounds & Notifications to turn my screen notification for emails off (I typically leave it on), and it worked as its supposed to. At this point, I'm not sure how to solve your (and obviously others) problems with this.
Just to make sure ... you ARE talking about the bubble that appears at the bottom of the screen, right? You are NOT referring to the icon that appears on the top command bar. If it's the icon at the top, I don't think there's a way to disable it...though I may be wrong.
FWIW, I am currently using one of the WM6 ROMs, but I don't believe that is the issue.
Maybe someone else will chime-in with some other info. Sorry I could not be more help.

Yes I am talking about the bubble that appears at the bottom of the screen.

Have you found a solution for your question?
Ciao,
DeepThought
no I have not!
Yes I'm a newbie to this forum so be nice.
Has anybody had problems with their new voicemail notification staying on after you've gone over and deleted your new messages? I've done a soft reset like 5 times and deleted every message from my voicemail and my today screen still says I have voicemail and the notification sounds when I start it up. I'm thinking this doesn't have anything to do with the phone itself but rather Sprint (??) I had a PPC6701 previously and the Fusic and I had problems with this as well...
Just wondering if this has happened to anybody else and if you know why or how to fix it..
Thanks.
My Faulty Voicemail is a little different
No matter how many vmail messages I have, my Mogul only indicates that I have 1 message. Over and over again, I'm told I've got one, and only one, voicemail. Very annoying that this expensive little device can't give an accurate tally of the messages. You'd think they'd have solved that by now. I mean, it's 2007. Sheesh.
yeah, i have the same thing, sometimes after deleting a messege it says i still have one, then ill get another voice mail and it will still say 1 (annoying since i neverknow if the 1 messege is real or fake)
ill usually call myself and leave a messege, then delete it and it goes away (until the next time i get a voice mail and its back)

I've read that the issue is a limitation of the Sprint network.
That is due to limitations of CDMA, or so I've heard.
I also have issues with the voicemail indicator not "leaving" after a message is deleted...the only fix I've found is to leave myself a message (normally by calling from another phone) and delete that normally....MOST of the time that works.

I havent had that issue at all, it may just be the signal in your area. As far as having multiple voicemails with notification of one, yes that is a staple of sprint's service. however on the nextel side, this does not occur. One thing i have noticed with my mogul, is that the notification will pop up when i get an additional message i just often ignore it, the best thing to do is just clear the vmail indication so the next new message you get, you know its new. that is all.
Here is another way:
Start
-> Settings
-> Phone
-> Services Tab
-> Voicemail (from menu)
->Get Settings
->Clear button
I have had a similar and ongoing problem with my Alltel Voice Mail. It started, possibly by coincidence, on August 1st when they took over Midwest Wireless. At that time I had a PPC6700 and my wife had an LG4400. They had us try switching to the new PPC6800's and still, on either phone if you used the automatic playback option - whereby when you call in the messages will play automatically, when you hit 5 to delete - it should delete the message indicator on your phone screen. Ours will not.
In my many discussions with Alltel they would reset our voice mail which meant that you had to go in and re-record your messages, etc.. When that was done it puts all your Voicemail items to the default settings and in that mode you have to dial 1 to play your messages. If you leave it in that mode it will delete the voice mail indicator.
If you switch it back to automatic playback mode, it will not delete the indicator.
I have spent probably hours on the phone with Alltel and their techs to no avail. Even after I tracked the problem down to the Automatic Playback mode.
Not sure if this is a similar problem but it would be nice if the carriers would (could) fix their own network?

That would work if those options were in WM5...so far they're only showing up in WM6 (to my knowledge). I just checked my sampson WM5 phone settings, and that option isn't there....but I do remember it in at least one of the WM6 builds I've run.

I assumed everyone was running WM6 since that's what comes on the Titan and this is in the Titan forum. Nobody had mentioned running WM5 anywhere.
I can confirm that this option is in the stock rom as well as DCD's.
That option is not available on my PPC6800 from Alltel either.
I am hopeful that someone can help solve a couple of issues(bugs) that I've found on the Verizon XV6800. A lot of you guys seem very skilled in creating new ROM's and many other things. So hopefully, one or more of you will find easy solutions to these issues.
First: On the XV6800(Windows Mobile 6), under the Sounds & Notifications Settings, "Repeat" is greyed out/disabled for EVERY NOTIFICATION setting. But, on the Notification Settings for MMS Downloaded, not only is "Repeat" greyed out/disabled, but "Flashing Light" is also greyed out and disabled. Can anyone tell me how to fix this please. (see screen shot below)
Second: Is there a way to prevent the XV6800 from repeating your voice tag for a contact "through the Speakerphone".
--Example: When I say "call xxxx", the phone repeats it back LOUDLY through the speakerphone! Duh....I'm sure no one around me wants to hear this and I don't want them to hear it either! What a really dumb setup. Can anyone help? Can these things be fixed??
Thanks for your help,
Mark
Hello!
I've purchased a Touch HD a couple of weeks ago.
But I have a problem with the notification on TF3D homescreen saying there's one new voicemail message.
When I call voicemail, listen to the message, delete it, the notification does not go away.
I've searched the forums, and the solution to call myself and leave a message and then delete it does not fix the problem.
Also a soft reset does not make it dissappear.
Is there a register hack to remove the message?
Or something else I can do to make it go away?
H.
this is a bug - mine is doing the same thing.
And there's nothing we can do to solve it?
H.
Not sure if this will help but I had the same problem with an old wm device. The trick was to listen to the message, delete it/save it then wait a couple of seconds before hanging up.
similar problems with my old hermes and the problem was to do with sms_providers.dll file.
I had to replace this file.
Do a search in hermes directory
I think this may be due to the phone not being correctly setup for the network. I've had this on other WM handsets after flashing the ROM - and sorted the problem by installing the correct settings for the network, otherwise I'd get these kind of problems and sometimes strange SMSs with control characters in them.
Try going to "Connection Setup" in Settings -> Connections and resetting to the correct network & country.
Hope that helps.

lol - of course its set up for the correct network. I made sure it was one of the first things I did!
Well, tried the solution with the sms_providers.dll change, but no luck.
Actually I don't think that was going to work anyway because I don't get weird text messages saying new voicemail.
That works just fine. The only problem I have is that it displays the 1 one voicemail message in between the call info and the calendar on my home screen. And what I try, it just won't go away.
I've also tried to reset the connection setting, but that didn't help also.
I'm going nuts about this!
Is no one else having this issue?
For your info, it's a dutch official rom version.
H.
Also when I leave myself 2 voicemails it still displays 1 new voicemail message.
It appears to be stuck.
Is there a registry setting for tf3d to remove this or something??
H.
Ok,
I've done a hard reset and the notification is gone now.
Hopefully it's not coming back anymore!
Thankz for all your help!

Has the notification come back? I have the same problem with my new WWE official ROM.
Thanks dhatw.

Okay, I just sent myself a voicemail and when I retreived it I deleted it and waited until the voice said deleted and then I pushed * to exit and now the notification is gone from my screen. I don't know if I had to do all of that but it worked anyways.
Registry Fix to Clear Voicemail Indicator
Using any registry editor go to the following keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/State/Messages/vmail/Line1/Unread
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/System/State/Messages/vmail/Line2/Unread
Display values and change Count value back to zero.
Worked like a charm!
HTC TyTN (a.k.a HERMES)
Windows Mobile 6.1 (CRC's ROM)
On my Phone -Voice Mail setting in Sounds and Notifications the Repeat checkbox is grayed out. Anyone know why?
Thanks
are you using visual voicemail?
It comes that way by default,
If you want to activate it look around for a CAB called:/Regedit Enable Repeating Notifications/.
install, reset than go to Notifications Settings and mark the Checkboxes from the start.
Just one piece of warning,even in case you answered your missed call,SMS or Email for exapmle it will still keep on repeating for another few minutes,however to undo it simply Uncheck the Repeat box.
I'm not using Sense so I doubt I'm using Visual Email, at least that I know of.
I surely don't want to trade this problem for a larger one, such as by having to put up with unwanted repeated warnings after I've dismissed the notification.
I found Control Panel/Notifications/Repeat in the Registry and changed it to a 1, then did a soft reset but it didn't make any difference.
Given that Events seem to have individual different default values I'm thinking that the problem is likely in how the event itself is defined in the Registry as opposed to a global setting there.
This CAB i maked yesterday will help.

Can you tell me what Registry entries your cab modifies? Is your cab uninstallable? With notifications being the primary purpose of my PDA functionality I'd like to make sure I know what it is that I'm modifying. At any rate, thank you!!!
This CAB is uninstalable and modify one value in registry:
"Options"=dword:40000000B
if i good remember. C'mon mate i don't wanna hurt your device wanna help.
