I am not sure if I am the only one who has noticed this strange behaviour of the niki device.anyway what I have noticed is that if I start pocketmusic turn the volume to 100% then I open the integrated player or pocket player the volume is much higher than normal (and this is good). On the other hand if I close pocketmusic the volume decreases...
in someway I guess that PocketMusic boosts the volume of the device..but I do not know how...
anyone else has noticed it?
PocketMusik doesnt Boost. It use a other internel Channel on the Soundcard. Its simulare like Windows XP etc ... this is why PocketMusik can use 100% Volume.

Hi,
is it just my machine that does this ? As soon as I start Pocket Player or GSPlayer to listen to some music the volume jumps to 100%. Very annoying ...
Cheers,
Oliver
Answering myself ;-) There is a setting in pocket player under playback "use and set device system volume" which needs to be turned OFF. I also installed the latest version 1.91a for gsplayer and this seems to work correctly.
my Windows Media Player in my Magician does not save the last audio volume it always remains at 70 if i close it and re-open it whatever volume i set it to e.g. 100%.
the other thing is that when i decrease the volume to 0% i can still hear the song playing albeit in a more quiet volume.
anybody faced this problem before? please help
many thanks in advance
once upon a tima i had the same problem.
it has to do with the system volume (tap the speaker in your task bar to adjust). if you set up this volume to 70% your media player will take the same value. just change your system volume and the wmp will change, too
i have the same problem... the system volume is set to 100% but player still comes up as 70% everytime. any reg hack?
Same here...
Although I wanted to turn the volume down really low so I could listen to music at work and still hear whats going on around me. Which you can't do. Even if you set it to 0% (with the system volume at one notch off mute).
Have had to buy a set of headphones with an inline volume control...ho hum..
My player volume stays at what I set it to though.
Cheers

Here's the fix for your problem

If I use TomTom with background MP3 player playeing playlist, the MP3 player (Gsplayer or Mediaplayer), after the player finished the first item, I can not hear the next ones.
If I switch off the GPS (BT 338), I hear the music again.
Everything works with other navigation software.
Any idea ?
I think this is to much for the slow Wizard processor doing all at the same time. TomTom is a huge application and the bluetooth communication is constantly busy receiving those protocols from the GPS mouse interrupting anything else not to loose any characters during reception (heavy traffic).
No problems here.....
Running tomtom and a musicplayer at the same time. (even with background apps running)
The only thing is, if i listen to the music with a certain volume tomtom tends to override the volume with the spoken instruction.
After that the musicplayer will override that volume again when it changes to the next song.
Bit fiddeling with the both and jou wil not notice any difference.
Lucky guy.
Well this could be anything. 192khz sampled mp3 need more cpu time than 63khz sampled. While I'm driving in my car I use my Ipod 20G for music.

cool, can you let us know, what Wizard your using, rom versions, what version of tomtom, what version of music/mp3 player and what format/bitrate your using. Be useful to compare..
Thanks.
Hi Guys
When I have the HTC earphones plugged into my diamond, the volume CAN'T be changed.
It's extremely loud and therefore hurts my ears and damages the speakers.
The volume does NOT go softer when I change the system volume or the volume of Windows Media Player.
This happens ONLY when I play music.
The volume of videos and the radio CAN be adjusted - no problem!
I've never had a decent portable music player.
I really want to listen to music.
Somebody please help me!
got almost the same Problem. I found out: it depends on the rom you are using. With Aztor V7 I could adjust it, and thanks to some configuration tool (Advanced Config or s.th. like that) I could reduce the over all sound volume to an acceptable hight.
With bepes Roms the sound volume was too quite.
My solution: I ordered bluetooth headphones now - with tunable volume. Hopefully that will help, but the volume problem on the Diamond really is nasty....
Well I dont have this problem so it is not a diamond issue, maybe the image you're using?
I seem to remember that at some point I had a similar problem with a previous image but it is gone now. I am running the latest panosha
Of course the volume cannot be changed if the device is in stand-by, you need to turn on the screen and then change it.
I have NOT messed about with the ROM.
Still running the original HTC Rom.
The problem is probably somehow linked to Diamond Tweak or Avenced Config Tool.
I've checked and re-check their settings time and again.
I am stumped.
What 2 do... what 2 do...
Hi gurus,
I would like to be able to change volume when screen is turned off. Do you have a tweak?
Many thanks in advance
This is true, it gets REALLY annoying especially when I'm listening to music and can't adjust the volume with the screen off. Would love to see this problem fixed, especially since it was alleged that the HTC stock earphones had "volume control capabilities" (sigh....).
Had to resort to choosing between a HTC earphone with "forward", "backward", "call answer" capabilities, or a normal (and much better sound quality) earphone with volume control.
Tough choice eh? So yeah, I'm just typing this to bump this thread up, hopefully this would get fixed soon!!!
I use the HTC Music Player and the volume controls work for me on the side of the phone. Not sure what player you may be using, but I like to use the hardware supported software for reasons like these.

Wooohoo!! Thanks!
p/s: Another question, would u guys have any idea how to reduce the volume bar increments from 3 bars to 1 bar? I know this can be done by adjusting the on screen volume bar via touching it. But using the volume rocker with the screen off while listening to music doesn't actually help, does it? It either gets too loud or too soft when I click on the volume rocker.
Is there any way of doing this without having to use the HTC player?
I have a preference for a different player (pocket player) but wish I didn't have to turn on the screen to access the volume controls.
