Hi Gang,
I used this feature (stored the photos in the My POI folder) and what do I do from here.
How can I determine what the Latitue and Longatude for the photos were? Am I missing something or have I mis-interprited the feature?
Thanks
hi, the gps information is saved in the exif data of the picture.
if you want to see where your photos were taken you need to have google earth and Panorado Flyer installed on your computer, right click in a geotaged picture and choose panorado flyer -> show location in google earth...
hope it helps you a little...
Dude i got it working, thanks for that.
Is there like an exsisting thread about this that shows tips and tricks and cool staff about this feature?

This looks to be a pretty good project, anyone interested in taking it on?

Has potential to be an awesome App, especially if we can work out how to integrate 3D buildings, weather, photos, etc (Data must be available somewhere - check out Google Earth)
It's been ages since I messed around with code, any of those awesome chef's keen?
hmm. this text is being replaced by the original since i posted on the wrong thread.. Sorry.. I cant manage to delete this post.
Hi,
I took several pictures with the GPS Foto option.
Everyting seemed to be working fine, but now I transferred them to my PC and can't find any GPS info in the EXIF information..
Anyone had succes using the GPS Foto option?
Regards
You need a more advanced one like "exif tool" (search for it with google).
The paste the coordinates in google earth or google maps.
YOu may need to edit the format.
I had succes
On my mac, it can immediatly link to the location on google maps. Flickr.com canlso place the photos on the map automaticly.
So... great feature!

I tried the exif tool and indeed it shows the GPS info.
I also tried uploading it to Flickr, but unfortunately it doesn't recognize the GPS info
Is there a way to 'convert' the exif info so Flickr or Picasa will recognize the info aswell?
Thanks for the replies so far..
Edit: Actually, uploading to flickr is working..
Any suggestions to get it to work with Picasa (google?)
You have simply open the photo with, ad example, Paint Shop (but it should work also with the "immage viewer of Windows" and re-save it without changing nothing... then open it with picasa...
If somebody know something more easear...
The camera on the Incredible is by no means anything comparable to a good digital camera but for a phone I think it takes pretty good pictures.
OK, this is a really neat way to post your phone pics to an online gallery.
NOTE: you must have server access and basic knowledge about installing a simple script to the server.
It requires 2 programs.
1 a program called MG2 or MiniGal 2 available free here (they accept donations)
http://www.minigal.dk/mg2.html
A program available from the Android Market called "Instant Upload"
Both programs are relatively easy to set up providing you have server knowledge and access.
After the set up and installation is done, all you need is to open your explorer program on your phone (I use Root Explorer but Astro file manager works as well) and navigate to the folder where your pics are located, click on the pic and you will be given several options - One of which is "Instant Upload". You need to have Instant Upload configured to upload to the directory that you installed the gallery on your server.
Your photo is uploaded to the gallery but not live yet.
Next you need to go the your gallery page and log in, click on the "Import" icon at the top of the page and the thumbnail and image will be placed in the gallery automatically.
There are several options in the gallery set up, you can change skins, allow user comments on your photos, display xif information and many other options.
Here is a link to the gallery I set up to show you what the end result will be.
http://www.kooldezine.com/droid/
As you can see, the gallery will let you add folders to categorize your photos if needed.
Hope some of you find this useful.
I will try to answer any questions if needed.
I hate to burst your bubble, that cat pic was cool btw, but have you heard of Picasa?

Not bursting my bubble, if you prefer Picasa that's fine with me.
Adobe has a nice program that's similar as well.
And for most people Picasa would also be a much easier route to take. But for me this is the way I like it.
I guess I'm just "Old School"
The camera on the Samsung Focus takes great pictures, unfortunately when uploading them to SkyDrive (where you have 25GBs of free space so it's not like you are going to run out quickly) the phone auto-compresses them.
There are no options to turn this off and I can't find any information anywhere on how to accomplish this. Maybe there is a code thru Diagnosis? I'm still searching for the answer but help would be greatly appreciated by me and all Focus owners I'm sure!
I heard from Windows Phone Radio that it is possible to upload high quality photos. There should be a setting somewhere.
The default settings is so that ppl won't burn through their 200MB data plan in one day. Not everyone has unlimited plans.
Where is this option?
I can’t find anymore the option to syncro only new pictures from my Note 3. I’ve installed an SD card with subfolders and DB is duplicating all of them in DB Camera Uploads folder. How can I stop this?
In the past there was an option "only new pictures" that, if flagged, was uploading only the pictures taken from that moment but in the 4.3 App it looks like they've removed it.
Any clue?

Current mobile-DB version screenshot (no flag anymore)
Just got the DropBox answer on the issue: There currently isn't a setting in the app that lets you filter out pictures that had already been uploaded from another device.
Really?
If you would like us to give the option to filter out pictures that have been uploaded already, please feel free to make a feature request through our Votebox.
So, if you guys miss that option as me, please click here and vote. You may vote more than once.
