Bluetooth Headset - see if connected...? - Touch Dual, MDA Touch Plus General

At the moment, it seems I can only see if the headset is connected to the TD when I'm in the calls screen (Orange TD by the way).
Anyone got a fix to put it on the today screen? It'd be nice to see the GPS device I have too in the same vein...

I wish the bluetooth LED would only flash if something (like headset) was connected, or possibly remain lit so it's very easy to see if my headset was connected.
I too find this lack of info in the today screen frustrating.
However, I do use phoneAlarm (http://www.pocketmax.net) which has a headset icon (perhaps depends on the skin that's used) that shows when the headset is connected.

How to make bluetooth turn off automatically?

The idia is to use bluetooth headset (in my case HBH-600) with SE T630 and my Compact.
T630 pairs with headset only during incoming or outgoing call, in stand-by mode my headset is absolutly free to connect to my Compact.
And since my Compact connected to handsfree it's not letting it go. Even when my device is turned off headset remains connected to it. On the one hand it's good, but in order to make headset work with two devices I should get rid of that feature.
I've seen a thread where people (with feature mentioned above) said that our devices don't think that answering a call is "using" the device and turn off. So other party of conversation couldn't hear anything.
Do you have any ideas how to break bluetooth connection with headset after call?
Thanks in advance.
Perhaps Pocket Bluetooth Tools will help you, it can auto-off the BT on the device after the call is complete and re-enable it when a call comes in.
Be aware, however, that some people find it can cause more problems than it solves - I however love it on my Xda II.
Thanks for tip.
I've tried that a long time ago, but found it of no use for me at that moment.
I remember that there is "settings" for it, but now I can't find it.
And another question. On that site it is said that program supports bluetooth handsfree and headset profile, and what about voice dialing?
you also can use Pocket Zen Phone.. schedule your profile to set the bluetooth off at certain time.

No voice dialer when device closed ?

Hi all,
I just got a new athena ppc and I am a bit disappointed 'cause I was not able to make phonecalls when the ppc is closed neither using the button on the earphone or configuring an hardware button for the purpose. Is there anyway I can make the voice dialer pop-up while the device is closed in the pocket ? Thanks a lot.
P.S.:
I am currently running the default WM6 ROM from HTC ITA.
That's odd. I'm using MSVC, and although I have to have the security settings a little lower than they're supposed to (i.e. I have it set so that MSVC can be triggered even when the device is locked), it's responsive via both the BT headset and the button. I wouldn't think that MS is doing anything unique there....
I dont have a problem activating the voice tags from my BT headphone with the device in standby.
Sorry, I did not mean in standby but closed like when you close the keyboard on it and the device displays the operator name and the signal strenght through the transparent strip.
I think it's just you, as I have been before and now using my X7501 closed without any problems with voice dial. Maybe it's your bluetooth settings or something. If I were you try to repair it and see if that helps. Oh btw I'm using a Jabra BT8010 the only thing is it's 2 clicks to activate voice dial due to the headset going into (stereo) mode. Hope this helps any and good luck.

I should have clarified - when its in its belt holster, cover on and in stand by, it works fine. I know when the cover is on some of the buttons on the Athena are disabled, but it doesn't affect any control requests coming from my BT headset. Also to be sure I just did a test with the cover on and with the display on, and it worked again. I'm using the Jabra BT 8010 like many others here.
Well, I just tested the device again and either in standby or cover-on the default headset (the wired one that comes in the box) does not wake up the phone when pressing the "voice dialer" button on it. If you can confirm me this beahviour I'll go and buy a bluetooth one.
Thanks in advance.
I'll try to remember tonight, I tested the wired headset once when I opened the box and decided it wasn't comfortable in my ears. Its been in the box since.
Ok solved. It works great with a sony bluetooth headset, it is probably an issue of the wired headset that comes in the box.
Thanks to all

Please help: Bluetooth problem

Finally, i got my HD today. Everything is working fine, except for one thing.
I'm not able connect with my bluetooth carkit. I've tried severall things: Carkit searching my device, which was visible and device searching for carkit. Both without success
Anybody an idea what i'm doing wrong here?
This may sound like I'm being condescending, but I'm not. Have you tried turning it off and then back on? The HD has a couple of problems that are solved by a power cycle. If it still doesn't work, then is the carkit compatible with HTC's? It's not a Sony Ericsson one is it? Their Bluetooth tech isn't very pally with other devices.

What do you mean with a power cycle?
I turned the device several times off. Performed several resets. No luck. The carkit is working fine with my old HTC 3600
The Bluetooth [for phone/A2DP etc] in WM is pretty retarded when you compare it with phone manufacturers like motorola and nokia who have had it down perfect for years now - it's one of may major gripes with WM (and why I can't wait for Android, then some clever person can hopefully develop a BT interface that WORKS properly...anyway) - I've not tried to hook mine up to the car yet [will try tonight] but if it's any consolation my Diamond took a few go's to get hooked up as well (in both cars - seemed to prefer the Parrot unit though)
Just one thing - you DO have the bluetooth set so that it is visible to other devices right? (I know that may sound a bit patronising, but I have to confess to one time getting really bent out of shape trying to hook up my headphones and eventualy realising that I hadn't set the phone to visible....ahem...)
***EDIT:
Later that day....
Ok - DITTO that - just tried many many times over and my HD will NOT connect to the Parrot 3200 in my car - NOT good [haven't tried the wifes car yet as I'm just too pi55ed off right now]. This unfortunately Is a deal breaker for me and I'll have to sell it on if it wont hook up (how retarded is that, even my humble ancient motorola works perfectly in the cars!)
***Second Edit:
Just FYI/update: Soft reset - and hooked up straight away. (So if you have issues, try a soft reset)
Got my HD yesterday, was able to pair Motorola S9 BT, both in headset and A2DP and listened to podcasts via RSS HUB. Today, nothing works!!!!
Tried soft-rebooting HD and restarting headset to no avail. HELP!

Same problem here. I was able to pair my HTC Touch HD with a JVC KW-NX7000 radio/Nav. On the display of the JVC I can see the batterypower of the HTC and the signal of my provider (Vodafone). My adresbook is transferred to the JVC, I can place a call from my JVC and then I get an error. When I turn on the screen of the HD Touch HD and then place a call on my JVC everything works fine. The problem seems to be, that the screen of the phone doesn't turn on when I place a call. When I dial a number on my phone, everything works fine.
I hope that someone has an answer to these problems.
I thought the problems had to do with the JVC but now I have my doubts.
Today I removed my bluetooth-connection and tried to make a new connection between my HTC Touch HD and the JVC KW-NX7000 radio/navigation in my car. On top of the screen of the HTC I saw two icons appear. (Left from the 3G icon)
I was surprised to see everything work, even though it was just for a short period. I could place a call from my JVC, the screen on my HTC turned on, the number was dialed and I got connected. At some point 1 of the 2 icons disappeared and again I wasn't able to make any calls from my JVC. The problem has something to do with those 2 icons which (should) appear when you make a bluetooth connection. I hope that somebody can help me with my problem.
Personally I think the bluetooth is bugged. This is what I have figured out when connecting my headset.
First time I paired everything worked fine. The paring profile was correct. There are two differnt profiles matched -1st the wireless stero and 2nd Headset
So this gives me two functions after pairing - 1 = listening music on my wirless headphones and 2 = making and recieving calls through the heahphones.
This gave me two icons - 1 being headphones with music symbol (wireless stero profile) 2 being headphones with another round symbol i cant make out (for the headset profile)
After you disconnect both the phone and headset the problems start. I turn on the blueooth on phone and headset, but I only get one symbol appear and thats the second one. This means i can use to make recieve call but not listen to music.
After along time messing about i found out that if you go back into the bluetooth device profiles and remove the tick for wirless stero and save config - then go back in and re-tick and then save evething starts working again until you disconnect again
I now have to do the remove tick and add tick everytime I want to use my bluetooth headset which is annoying. Thats why im conviced there are problems, so becareful when you setup as it might be working first time but you wont know unless u check it straight away on the initial pairing

Got excactly the same problem. Tried A2DPToggle but that thoes not work on my T-HD. Hope someby knows a tool or an answer for this.
absolutely agree , bluetooth is buggy !!!
sometimes I am loosing the connection to my car , sometimes it worked fine for hours , sometimes only for minutes
if I am listening to music (ds980) and receive a call, the connection to hear music is lost after closing the call
if I have some longer calls, sometimes the connection drops
so at the moment bluetooth @ HD is absolutely not stable !
buggy BT still happening?
Had issues with Nokia E71 randomly dropping/reconecting BT ... sometimes dropping during a call ... sold it on eBay
Brought Omnia i900 - Voice over BT headset does not work ... (but now a fix has been found over at modaco.com so happy)
was seriously looking at touch HD but will not if this thread is correct as sick of paying out good $$$ and finding a must have feature is not working
Q. has a fix been found or is BT still buggy
thanks
Bluetooth Problem
I think the problem may have something to do with multi-function devices (make and receive calls + stream music) I'm having problems with my Jabra
SP700 ,pairs no problem , 2 icons in top bar , can make calls and play music. Switch off phone or Jabra and then reconnect I can only make calls, no music, even though the 2 icons are displayed in top bar. I also have a Sony Erricson external speaker and a pair of Sony headphones both of which work fine no problem. Is this something that can be fixed with updated bluetooth drivers for HD?

[REQ] Application to tell which device has BT Wireless Stereo and BT Hands Free

There seems to be many times when my BT stereo headphones (Sony Ericsson Bluetooth Headset HBH-DS970) are connected functionality-wise to say Pocket Player and I hear music. But the Hands Free portion of the BT is not attached. At such times hitting pause/next track/etc on the HBH-DS970 does nothing. Sometimes powering off the DS970 and back on re-establishes the Hands Free connection.
This makes me wonder, when it's not working, what does Bluetooth say the Hands free is attached to? Is it possible to have the Wireless Stereo hooked into one thing and the Hands free be controlling something else?
Another thing that goes along these lines, and I have no way of fixing it, is that sometimes for some odd reason I just cannot connect my DS970 to my phone to actually make phone calls with. Now I know it works because, well, most of the time it connects and works. But lately, more and more, it doesn't.
When it doesn't the symptoms are, naturally, that I hear nothing in the headphones when making a call and cannot use the mic built into the DS970. But also, while in the call (because the menu pick appears no where else unless your in an active call) selecting Menu will show a grayed out "Turn Hands Free on". When this happens I cannot use my BT headset to make calls no matter what I do.
When this is working then the "Turn Hands Free on" menu pick is not grayed out and I can turn it on.
This leads me to want a BT application that can expose the true internal status of the BT connections and perhaps allow the user to manually override situations that are just plain wrong like the above.

Bluetooth Shortcut to disconnect hands free

I don't know if this is possible or if this is a really simple question however is there a way to disconnect a hands free device in 1-2 clicks.
what happens is this, I have a BlueAnt Speakerphone in the car I get out of the car (and forget to turn of BlueAnt) walk 15m and make a call - phone is still connected to Hands-Free, so how can I quickly disconnect the hands-free and make a call through the normal phones internal speaker.
I suppose I can assigna button to be comms manager and disable bluetooth however I want bluetooth to remain on if possible (just d/c hands-free temporarily)
Windows Mobile 6.1 on HTC Touch HD
You can try this, it merely toggles bluetooth.
However, I have had the same problem as you, so decided to make my TD2 KNOW when it is in my car and KNOW when it is not. I use GProfile for this. It knows when it is in my car because it is connected to my car cradle (it is charging) which is also an FM transmitter (it thinks it is connected to a headset). This then automatically turns bluetooth on when cradled. When I un-cradle it, it turns bluetooth off thus disconnecting from my handsfree headset.
GProfile is one program which does this but you could use Mortscript instead.
