Can someone please help. I did a very noob mistake. I was trying to get the GPS to work for TT and was playing around with the registry, I must have changed the registry incorreclty as the speaker for the phone does not work anymore. I can hear the other person but they can't hear me. Everything else seems to work fine.

Doesnt seem like a registry error to me. Try calling with the head-set and see if the other person can hear you.
And the worst of all, try a hard-reset probably after backing up all your data.

Thanks for the quick reply, I can hear the other person but the other person can't hear me. I have done a hard reset already but it didn't help.

Hi folks, i posted this in the wm6 rom thread but i think here is the right place (correct me if i'm wrong).
Here's the thing, i was using the universal and from nowhere the sound died. I can only hear the sound from all programs (musics films etc) when i receive a call. It's sooooooo strange, i don't have mic nor the earspeaker (i don't know if thats the name).
Does someone have the same problem? I tried reflashing to WM5, reset, hard reset and none worked.

I have a HTC 3G JADE has a problem. I don 't hear anything when I phone someone or when someone phone me.
As against the speaker behind works well because I hear the bell and the player MP3. but impossible to hear anything during a conversation (unless I put in hands-free).
Please help me.

I do it but the same issue ... I apply to a hard reset and the same too.

I think it's quite a serious problem and you may need to send the set to HTC for diagnosis (or replacement if it's still under warranty)
It's obvious that your speaker on the front is broken or has lost contact.
Another possibility is that the headphonesocket ont he bottom is broken.
The only solution after al you have tested is send it for repair.
Hope for you it's still under warranty.
my BIG PROBLEM:
I am sure all of you know what a "beep" means... that is, when you make a phonecall, you hear those "beeps", indicating that at the other end, the phone is ringing... the problem is I CANNOT HEAR anything... i do not actually know when the call is connected because i cannot hear anything... the volume is so low that i can barely hear something if there is no noise at all around me... but the actuall voice volume is ok, when actually talking with somebody... only the "beeps" have the issue...
how cand i fix this? It is really annoying.. :|

I have this problem on the latest Tachiii custom rom (WM6.5 + TF3D2), in other words, its rom related so try a different one.
tried several... but if it's rom related... it can be fixed.. how????

My brother just got a wing from one of his freinds today and we did a hard reset but cannot get any sound to come out of the phone when he is on a call. The speaker on the phone works fine, but not the regular sound. We can hear him fine on the other phone but he cannot hear us. Is there a registry hack that will increase the volume, or something we can do to make it work?

I am also having the same issue outgoing calls work just fine but not incoming. Nothing i have tried works i have flashed a new ROM to try and fix it and that didn't help. any suggestions would be great

I bought a vogue on eBay to play with the android OS. I loved android, but I had an issue... When I called someone they couldn't hear me but I could hear them. Also none of the sound notifications were working... no incoming calls, no music files... it looked like the software was working, but I couldn't hear anything.
The sound was working fine before I converted to android (directly from the phone not the SD card), so I flashed to a WM rom... still the same issue. I can hear everything perfectly fine when I call my voice mail, but people can't hear me when I call them, and none of my sound files make any noise even though it looks like media player is playing them properly.
I flashed to the Sprint stock rom for the Vogue, and still the same issue...
Can someone please help me? I have no idea what to do.

Long shot, but did you check the device before flashing anything? Was it working when you got it off ebay?
Did you do a hard reset after flashing WM?
Yes, it was working when I bought it. The receiver is now working (people can hear me when i make a phone call), but the speaker on the back, the one used for speakerphone, is still not working.
I've done a hard reset, nothing changed. I'm going to take it into a repair store and see if it's a hardware issue... I have no idea why it would be though. All I did was mess with the software.

It could be that flashing to Android messed up something in the speaker... again, another long shot!
