I would like to start and play an mp3 file with the media player but in command line...
I tried \Windows\wmplayer.exe and it works but when i try to open a file adding /play or /open myfile.mp3 it doesn't work.

Hello, i installed a media player on my XDA mini s, but did not like it so i removed it. When i now go inot the file explorer and locate the mp3 files, they cannot be played, as they are not associated with anything and are classed as an unknown format. plese could you help me get the files to associate with windows media player again. thankyou
please somebody reply, i need help
Open file in media player, rather than trying to open in file explorer and letting it find its own default app.
Not sure how to change the default to wmp tho
I foolishly installed realone player onto my HD and when discovering that it was a piece of useless junk, I tried to uninstall it. Fail - the uninstall doesnt work.
Anyhow, I have manually removed all the files and most of the registry entries, however there is one entry im unsure of - its in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and is named RTSP.
Now in this folder under DEFAULTICON and SHELL/COMMAND it has the address where realone mobile once was. Im wondering what it says for you who have not installed that. Im thinking it perhaps was once HTC streaming media player - but am unsure. Please could you let me know what path it states in your registry.
Thanking you.
please can someone help? If you have a registry editor it will take you 2 mins to check the relevant key
bump bump bump
...RTSP\Shell\Open\Command: StreamingPlayer.exe %1
There is no DefaultIcon, only ...RTSP\Default: URL:rtsp protocol
MOD EDIT: tnyynt: ...and stop bumping like that!
Thank you very much.
Actually I found the reg entry should be
"StreamingPlayer.exe" "%1"
Click to collapse
Let this be a warning to you all, do NOT install RealOne Player!!
hello.
I don't know if this is correct section!
I have a problem!
I want use mortscript to manage my favourite player: TCPMP!
Now I have this problem:
for example I associate avi extention from HKCR\Avifile\shell\open\command key (default), with script(exe connected to mscr script), setting in that key value "my script.exe" "%1" (I understood that %1 represents connection between exe and file on which you click)
In this mscr script I have for example this line
Run("\Programmi\TCPMP\player.exe")
When I click on an avi file(associate with my script.exe), start TCPMP(because start script that runs tcpmp) but video doesn't play!
Maybe because connection point between exe(in this case script that execute tcpmp and NOT TCPMP) and file doesn't work if I use TCPMP running in a script!
Solution is understand path file when I click on file.
In this manner I can use in my script this function
Run("\Programmi\TCPMP\player.exe", path_video_file)
BUT HOW CAN I GET THIS PATH (OR STREAMING LINK) TO PASS IT TO RUN FUNCTION IN MY SCRIPT?
I didn't find any function to do this in mortscript guide
I didn't find also nothing in wm registry!
I did this question in mortscript official forum but noone reply to me!
I hope that there is a easy solution
thanks
..........
please use the Q&A section instead.
thank you
Hi guys,
i cant seem to find any information on how to assign file type to programs.
i want to assign *.mp4 to open by wmp by default. the HD default players ****s me.
please help out thanks.
Bump! Bump! Bump!
you can use resco file explorer to specify the player U want by using " open with " and U must check the check box that say: always use this program to open this file type.
I hope my post will be clear 4 U .
good luck .
and sorry 4 my English .
