Please can one of you help - Touch HD General

I foolishly installed realone player onto my HD and when discovering that it was a piece of useless junk, I tried to uninstall it. Fail - the uninstall doesnt work.
Anyhow, I have manually removed all the files and most of the registry entries, however there is one entry im unsure of - its in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT and is named RTSP.
Now in this folder under DEFAULTICON and SHELL/COMMAND it has the address where realone mobile once was. Im wondering what it says for you who have not installed that. Im thinking it perhaps was once HTC streaming media player - but am unsure. Please could you let me know what path it states in your registry.
Thanking you.

please can someone help? If you have a registry editor it will take you 2 mins to check the relevant key

bump bump bump

...RTSP\Shell\Open\Command: StreamingPlayer.exe %1
There is no DefaultIcon, only ...RTSP\Default: URL:rtsp protocol
MOD EDIT: tnyynt: ...and stop bumping like that!

Thank you very much.
Actually I found the reg entry should be
"StreamingPlayer.exe" "%1"

Convert to dll files?

Does anyone know how I can convert png or ico files to dll files so that it can be used with SK Shortcut Manager or PocketTweak to create shortcut icons?
I have been searching online for a method for a long time and it appears that the only way to do so is by using Visual FoxPro. However, I don't have this program and there isn't a trial version i can download. (I don't want to spend money buying a program just to make a few dll files for my shortcuts)
I have also tried some other freewares and trial softwares online but none of them are successful.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Attached here are the 3 icons i would like to turn into dll files. If anyone know where to get them as dll files, that would be great too.
Loook for ResHacher, it is free!

just see the link doesn't function.
Nevermind zip file attached. enjoy
Still not working...
i downloaded the program and used the IconDLL.dll file i got from PHM Tools then i changed the icons inside to the one i want. However, I still can't get it to work despit doing that.
What I did after getting the new .dll file with my icon in is use the shortcut creator program I found here. I tried to read other .dll files and i could see the icon but as soon as I use my own .dll file I made (which I put in the /Windows), it crashes the program. I then tried another program, the Strat Menu programs manager and I still could not read my icon.
I even went through all the post in this forum about shortcuts and tried some of the tricks there. I downloaded Microangelo Librarian and attempted to use IconDLL.dll by adding in my own icons (as vijay suggested in an earlier post), however, according to the advice he gave, that should be it and it should've been easy. This wasn't the case because I couldn't save the file as a .dll file since it said that the file is a read only file or is locked. I then tried save as but that only save it as a lib file.
I have been at this for a whole day now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
** oh and I even tried using SK Shortcut Manager and I still couldn't read the .dll file I made :..(
Hi teresa611
I also use Microangelo Librarian.
what we have to do is just open the program.
1. Drag any icons into blank librarian.
2. Save as *.icl
3. Just rename those *.icl to be *.dll
4. Copy to PPC
5. Enjoy
Hope this help
tried and failed
even tho i changed the name to .dll, when i dragged it into my pda, it's still a librarian file and i was unable to read it. perhaps, i'm doing something wrong if it works for other people.
i'm starting to feel this is more trouble than it's worth. Thanks for the advice tho. If anyone else has any other ideas, please let me know.

For me, I have to put .dll into \Windows; otherwise, it is not work.
In addition, you may try using icon_viewer utility to view those dll in order to ensure it is a work dll.
The attach is icon_viewer. Copy to PPC and run.
Thanks. I'll try it later when I get off work. I really hope it works, cause I'm running out of forums to search
problem solved!!
just to refresh this thread and to give others some info if they're stuck with what I was stuck with. I finallt managed to create .dll files and use them in my pda as shorcut icons.
Instead of using Michelangelo Libarian which I am still confused about, I found this great freeware called "BeCyIconGrabber". It allows you to extract icons from .dll and .exe files and you can also load multiple icons there as save it as .dll.
Thanks again to everyone who tried to help

HTC Home - replace Windows Media Player with TCPMP

Hi fellas,
any hint how to make such change
I was stfg for a while and found someone on XDA asking the same question, but got no reply at all
I have seen Dutty made something with it in his SupaLite rom but more details would be great
Thanks,
Gabriel
Yes, it's possible.
I replaced my (Videos) with (TCPMP) by modifying the registry:
HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\MediaHubMini\App1_3
Change Path from
\Windows\HTCAlbum.exe
to
\Program Files\TCPMP\player.exe
Change Param from
-mode:camera -type:video
to
(null)
Soft-reset.
Same thing can be done for Music, Photos icons, or other applications (ie. IE, CommManager,...) with HKLM\HTC\Biotouch\APLauncher and appropriate APPx registry.
This doesn't make sense since the change you're suggesting refers to the program htcalbum.exe instead of windows media player...wouldn't this just route all calls to htc album to tcpmp instead of rerouting everything that would normally go to WMP to TCPMP? Or am I a douche?
My solution is referring to the TouchFlo (sorry if it was confusing/misleading)

quick and dirty
hi,
here is a quick and dirty solution i made some minutes ago for my self.
copy all files from the tcpmp dir to the windows folder.
rename player.exe to wnplayer.exe
install mycert_cert.cab file and replace the htcalbum.exe with the one in the rar file.
now the htcalbum should open videos with the tcpmp.
regards stavro
???
What RAR file?
^^ sorry my mistake, here is the rar file

you need to unsign it, edit it and then sign the dll again, otherwise it will not work
do you mean i need to seperately sign the dll?

how to change wm6 default apps?

for example: make thumbcal default calendar
thanks
Menu-Extras-Setting-Standard for Calendar
if you want a application be the default one it must be in Settings of this application, so just look there a little bit, seems to make more sense than open such threads By the way:
1. Did you read first tread for such questions ?
2. why dont you ask that in the thumbCal thread ?
3. The default Calendar thing has been asked a hundred times there, so it seems you even dont searchor read there ?
if you mean the left softkey too, search for "changing softkeys"
thank you
unfortunately the default app setting for this change in thumbcal does not work, thats why i spent two hours looking in different threads for a solution, the one hack that did work for somebody i couldnt duplicate because i dont know how to edit a system file (and i tried several different ways)
i did ask in that thread, but thot asking here would catch somebodys eye who either had a solution or something positive to contribute
i thot this forum was about sharing knowledge
if this post is really that out of line please delete it

try using total commander, you may have to remove the readonly or system attributes to the file through total commander, edit it (which you can also use total commander for) and then change the attributes back
thank you for responding!
this was one of the first things that i tried but i wanted to try it again before i replied
i can uncheck attributes of calendar.exe ie: read only and system but i cant uncheck "inROM" its greyed out
so when i hit ok read only and system revert back to checked
thanks again for trying to help, i appreciate it
works with manilla2D, so guess with more apps?

- Download VJBrisk.cab
- Install it
- Copy vjbrisk.exe
- make a backup of calendar.exe
- Rename vjbrisk.exe to calendar.exe
- make a LNK (shortcut) to your application and name it vjtarget.lnk
Place both files in your Windows directory (yes, overwrite calendar.exe)
I found this somewhere in the Manilla2D threads (don't know wich one anymore).
Good luck

ok, I might be retarded or severely slow, but I've tried this, and I can't even copy calendar.exe to somewhere else.. running stock htc WM 6.1 rom

Can't you just open up thumbcal and go to its menu option and select "Extras" followed by "Settings", then scroll down and pick/check "Set as default calendar"?
EDIT: Sorry just read post 2 who practically tells you to do the same, must have ignored it as I feel the post was a bit out of line. On the same note though, that was all I did and it seemed to work, that may be because I am using an Omnia at present.

[Resolved] Tcpmp issue

Guys, Can't seem to get TCPMP to work in my Custom ROM. I know there are some Regs that are not being applied when cooking as the ROMs accept only Cab installed TCPMP to play. Can someone please share their working TCPMP or tell me how to tweak it to work when cooked. I know NRGZ has one working in his ROM and others out there so, plz share before we start thinking of other xtreme ways....LOL!
Try the one in post 1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=670465
One issue with tcpmp is that is uses a dll named common.dll. The package I use puts tcpmp in windows-the dll goes there, too. Make sure it isn't over-written by a dll of the same name from another package. OMarket also uses a common.dll, so if you cook both into windows, only one will work.

Tough going mate. Its crushing my platformrebuilder...
Look at your build-log, and make sure you don't already have any of the modules in the package (common.dll, WMADMOD.DLL, WMSDMOD.DLL, WMVDMOD.DLL). I have a feeling you're already cooking in a common.dll, and that's why the package you were using before wouldn't work; over-writing it with another module could cause prb to crash.
Edit: Also, make sure there aren't any registry parsing errors. I've gotten them for the DLL Path key before, although EVK normally just ignores the problem. I might have dumped those keys with total commander, and it doesn't get the path right (either too many or not enough '\'s). You can just delete those keys, if they're causing issues.
You really don't even need the reg file; tcpmp just loads a default set of keys if HKLM\TCPMP is empty. The only key you really want is the one for the skin file (\windows\skin.xml).
You can also try out the Uzard package posted a little later in the thread. It has a combo of Uzard browser/TCPMP. If you don't want the browser, just dump it. The tcpmp reg keys should be fine in that one.

Thanks Mate. I am cooking it in right now.
Edit: Just cooked it in and I confirm that its working, even with OMarket's Common.dll in the Rom. Thanks a million starbase64 >>>Issue now closed.
So common.dll was the problem? I knew it, lol.
You could save rom space by cooking tcpmp straight into rom and putting OMarket into \Program Files either with a cab or a zip install. The other way to do it is with an app.dat file, but you need to name common.dll (for OMarket) something like 000-common.dll in rom and have it renamed to common.dll when it is copied to the new location by initflashfiles.dat. That way, you won't have two different files named common.dll in conflict w/ each other during cooking, with one over-writing the other.

noted.thanks for all the help man!
peace.
Well, I remember the first time I cooked omarket in, and I was left wondering why the hell tcpmp no longer worked. I wish that developers wouldn't name there modules and files with such bland names. I'm pretty much maxed out on files named settings.txt, settings.cfg, settings.ini, settings.config and settings.xml right now in my windows folder. One more, and I'll be screwed. Oh, wait, I've got a settings.db in there, too, lol.
