Contacts Question

Hey everyone,
I just got an I-Mate JAM, i just wanted to see if anyone can tell me how i can get my phonebook (thats store on my sim) into the contacts part of my JAM.
Also if anyone has any suggestions as to programs or tips would be great.

I haven't actually tried this, but in your Programs list you should have SIM Manager.
Tools, Select All, Save To Contacts

Does anyone know how to copy contacts from BA to Charmer

I have just moved up to the Charmer (Compact 2) and was wondering if there is an easy way to copy all contacts from my BA running Windows Mobile 2003 SE to my Compact running Windows mobile 5. I know I can probably use infrared/Bluetooth but was hoping for a straight drag and drop. Any help as always appreciated.

I would suggest that you do a active syn to your Outlook in your PC for easy and sure transfers of your contacts.
Another way is to save your contacts on the SIM. Read

Thanks Hamin much appreciated. You pointed me to a couple of good links. Nice to know the true spirt of the group still exists. By checking the links out it may be possible to copy all my data from my BA to my Charmer, including txt msgs etc? This is very much appreciated. Thanks again...JD76

Harmin thanks but checked out the links. The contact copier only applies to WM5 so can't copy from 2003 to WM5 also on my BA has the ability to backup contacts using a program but my charmer does not have a tool for restoring my contacts..so back to the drawing board. Thanks JD76.

Is this possible on the Wizard?? Unfortunately I have to get rid of my XDA Mini S but need to keep my contacts but can't think of any way to do it??

wellyou can. just go contact by contact and click menu, save to sim.
if you're upgrading to a different ppc, let me know, for that you can use a SIM Backup utility.

Unfortunately I may well be moving away from the Windows Mobile scene. I always used to use it because of work, keeping my diary up to date, contacts, etc... but started a new job and they use NOVELL GROUPWISE as their mail client so unfortunately my phone/PPC is half of what it used to be
Not quite sure what phone I want yet so just need to get my contacts onto my SIM card.

Then you better backup to Outlook (using ActiveSync).
Many phones now provide Outlook synchronization.

I agree, for better or worse Outlook is about the only way when moving to another platform, if in fact that platform will sync to Outlook. But even then it's not always clean, or comprehensive. Good luck!

Transfer all data to new Touch 3g

Hi all! I'm thinking of upgrading my Touch to the Touch 3g. I'm not sure though how to go about transferring all my data from the old touch through activesync to the new touch 3g through activesync. I'm sure it is possible, does anyone know how? Help appreciated!!! Thanks in advance!

What data do you want to transfer..? Files can just be copied over using a pc.. PIMbackup can be helpfull when you want to backup your contacts.. But, when you sync Outlook, u can easily use Outlook to sync contacts the first time. (just mind the sync settings)
If you want to copy over text messages/sms, you will need Yejo.. U should be able to get it done using the trial versionnof yejo/jeyo.
You *could* have found all of this by just using the search on the forum you know..

I would recommand that you syn your Touch pro 2 phone with google via active sync.
the server adress is: m.google.com
the rest of the info you need is your password and username/email adress.
It is rather easy actually.
And is a way better solution than the simcard method. Since the simcard method removes your pictures, and messes up the information you have on your contacts.

the sim contact transfer is fuked up.
i lost lot of contacts...something is wrong i think
try Sprite Migrate...its THE best.
